Disappointed with our lunch time meal in almost every way.
Right from the off I did not feel at ease entering this place - no real welcome greeting - just a rather curt 'do you have a reservation ?' And then you find that if you didn't make a reservation,(it appeared to us) that you may not have waterside seating - even if there are 5 empty tables along the front....so straight away we were made to feel like second class citizens for not pre booking.
Second there is the cramped seating - my chair was constantly bumped by staff & customers as we were seated in the middle of the room. This hardly made for a relaxing meal. The staff to their credit were pleasant enough but unless you are a celebrity or millionaire, I got the impression overall that they couldn't care less about you really.
We found the place rather 'stuffy' for what describes itself as a beach bar and the prices were silly high for the basic bar snacks offered at lunch. The food was OK but nothing special - the best I can say is that at least the chips (fries) were cooked in fresh oil.
All told we found it a rather pretentious place with no charm, lacking in any sort of vibe other than bling, bling, ching, ching.....its all about the money, money.
It may be OK for the W.A.G.S. but not a place I'd rush back to unless it rethinks its whole ethos. Sorry if I sound harsh, but I really did not enjoy eating here..and it wasn't particuarly about the food.
