“All Fur Coat and.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Disappointed with our lunch time meal in almost every way.
Right from the off I did not feel at ease entering this place - no real welcome greeting - just a rather curt 'do you have a reservation ?' And then you find that if you didn't make a reservation,(it appeared to us) that you may not have waterside seating - even if there are 5 empty tables along the front....so straight away we were made to feel like second class citizens for not pre booking.
Second there is the cramped seating - my chair was constantly bumped by staff & customers as we were seated in the middle of the room. This hardly made for a relaxing meal. The staff to their credit were pleasant enough but unless you are a celebrity or millionaire, I got the impression overall that they couldn't care less about you really.
We found the place rather 'stuffy' for what describes itself as a beach bar and the prices were silly high for the basic bar snacks offered at lunch. The food was OK but nothing special - the best I can say is that at least the chips (fries) were cooked in fresh oil.
All told we found it a rather pretentious place with no charm, lacking in any sort of vibe other than bling, bling, ching, ching.....its all about the money, money.
It may be OK for the W.A.G.S. but not a place I'd rush back to unless it rethinks its whole ethos. Sorry if I sound harsh, but I really did not enjoy eating here..and it wasn't particuarly about the food.

“A treat.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

I suggest you get there at 7pm if you want a table overlooking the sea. Modern cuisine, good service if a little pricier than others in the area. "elegant casual dress" in the evening. We were fine in simple skirt/t-shirt and shorts/collared shirt, others were smarter, others less so but looked out of place.

“Very good, not quite great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Mullins was "our" beach while in Barbados, so we lunched here several times. While not outstanding the food was always good. My wife had a Caesar salad with shrimp that she thought exceptional. Being a beachside place, the atmosphere and view can't be beat. However, for the first time in Barbados, we found the service to be somewhat lacking. There is a middle-aged female hostess who functions more as a guard than as someone to welcome you. A few smiles would be a start. We found this so uncharacteristic for Bajan people that it was really surprising. The fellows at the bar tried to make up for it as they loved to joke, but the food isn't fantastic enough to overcome the chilly greeting.

“not good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

We ate at 7pm, and we were very dissapointed with the meal, the tuna was just a lump of tastless fish, not prepared in any way just pan fried and stuck on the top of some rather chewy pak choi, all rather bland, the broccoli tasted like it had sat in water for a week or so,
We were very dissapointed with the waitress who did not enquire why we had left the tuna and veg, but left a questionaire on our experience for the evening, which we filled in, one other point, two of our friends went the day before and they too were very dissapointed.
