We stayed at this Riad in the Ocre suite (with its own private terrace) for four nights having flown into Agadir. We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff didn't speak much English but were very friendly and helpful and rooms were cleaned whilst we were at breakfast. We found the food good and although there was no choice at dinner it was well cooked and we enjoyed all of our meals including breakfast. We found the position of the Riad to be ideal for visiting the town where it was possible to have city tours in a horse and carriage and also the town is well situated for trips out. We had a visit to a Women's Cooperative making Argan oil, then on to an Oasis and finally had a day visiting the Berber villages in the mountain. Apart from the fact that the beds were extremely firm and we didn't sleep as well as we would have liked we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return - Recommended

Room Tip: We had a suite with private terrace which was lovely but rooms on the open terrace at the top of the...

Location - decently located in Taroudant (which we were not impressed with compared to Marrakech, although would serve as a decent base for exploring the Atlas Mountains or visiting Agadir) - really close to the Souks and only five minutes from the main square.

Staff - were polite and efficient, but didn't offer the same level of personal service compared to other places we have stayed in Morocco. Only one spoke reasonable English, which was a little surprising seeing as the majority of their residents spoke nothing but.

Accommodation - beautiful building, and nice pool (all be it unseated). Our room was lovely and spacious, although the shower had poor pressure and was difficult to get to the correct temperature. Also, sheets were not changed each day, just remade. The jacuzzi is nice in theory, but was far too hot, and the metal steps leading up to it were literally impossible to walk on without shoes due to the heat.

Food - the breakfast was ok and typical of what we had elsewhere; a selection of breads/pancakes, yoghurt, fruit, orange juice etc. we had dinner one night which was disappointing - not choice and no explanation of what we were eating - the tagging could have been mutton or goat? The lemon tart dessert was ok. Wine was average and expensive.

Additions - we were able to have a haammam and massage on site which was good and not ridiculously expensive - £35 each for about 90 minutes of treatment. One slightly irritating thing was we requested a taxi to Agadir one day for a day trip, assuming they would gets us a fair rate. We expected to pay around 300 dirhams, but were told on arrival it would be 400. We accepted that, but when in Agadir the first taxi drive we approached quoted us 300, so we felt a bit ripped off. Our advise would be to just wander to the main square and haggle to get the best deal.

A reasonable stay but we wouldn't return to the hotel or the town.

We stayed here for two nights 22nd/23rd March 2014. Highly recommended.

What a lovely Riad and what excellent hospitality. Although all the staff were unfailingly cheerful and kind, a special mention must be made of Zora who was charming and extremely helpful. We did ask to change rooms only because we were concerned about the possibility of street noise (unfounded!) and our request was dealt with immediately and without fuss. The standard of comfort and cleanliness was high and the food was utterly delicious. If the fish tagine is on the menu you should have it! You don't like fish? Have the fish tagine and change your mind.

This is an excellent Riad and the reports are correct. There's no point in repeating what others have said, so I'll try to give some original input

Location is central : you can walk anywhere in the town

We had the Argan room. A bit more expensive perhaps, but worth it for the extra space and bath tub

The proprietor is a Belgian doctor, so I am told, and the Moroccan ladies who run the place for him run it efficiently and with great charm. After living in Brussels one can't be surprised at the efficiency, but the charm is all their own .

The pool was warm enough for swimming in early March and the water pleasant (no chlorine smell) if cool. This is a hot country and to have a pool is useful

The food is good (but not as good as Riad Maryam) and we had dinner here several times However, you are eating your dinner in a charming patio, which adds to the experience, and if you say what you want they will try to do it for you.

The transport/tour company they use Nour Safar is excellent. We had them for our airport transfers and also a trip to the anti-Atlas

The only downside is the noise : you might think you are in a farmyard from the neighbouring cock crowing in the night. Fortunately the air-conditioner drowns it out, but don't stay here if you don't want it on (unless you are a sound, sound sleeper) It's not the Riad's fault, but it is to be aware of. Also, you might be disturbed on a hot summer's night if there are people lingering in the patio area as all four of the main bedrooms face it

It's better if you can speak French. But that's true of everywhere in Taroudant

I am back to Palais Omensour for sure. All you can ask for, is what you get when visiting this wonderful riad. The sevice, food, hospitality is just great. We where so lucky, to catch up wih the owner's great people. They took us to the local workshop, where they had all the intrior made. Both for this and their new project. A Gran new Villa only a short drive away, wich was due to open in a few weeks.
A great thing about the Riad, it is run run by females, with Mary as the "chief" in charge.
We are coming back for sure.

We had four nights in a suite at this gorgeous place. Everything was perfect - the rooms are out of Arabian nights, the bed comfortable, the shower excellent. Food was wonderful and we ate each night (four of us) in a small dining room with a roaring log fire. The garden is lovely - the pool icy but refreshing in February and there were banana trees, lemon trees, bougainvillea, palms, roses, fountains trickling and a super jacuzzi up its own flight of steps on a little balcony surrounded by plants. The staff could not have been more kind and charming. And it is only five minutes walk from the relaxed and fascinating artisan souk which is crammed with gorgeous craftwork. Can't wait to get back!

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor have their own roof garden and are sunny in winter.
