“Lovely place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

This is a lovely small hotel, situated in the heart of Taroudant but totally secluded from the noise and bustle of the town. The hotel is built in the traditional adobe style and decorated with soft, muted tones of grey and brown. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms enormous. There is a beautiful swimming pool in the hotel garden, plus a separate hot tub. The garden is quite charming, with a fountain and native shrubs and flowers. There is a roof terrace that provides a fine view over the town. There are no room TVs but there is a multi-channel TV in the common lounge that offers access to all the usual international news media. Wifi is also available but the signal is stronger in the public areas than in the rooms.

The all-female staff are more proficient in French than English, but we managed to make our needs known easily enough. You will be asked at the time of reservation or check in if you want to have dinner in the hotel, because the kitchen buys fresh ingredients that day depending on how many diners they have. We would definitely recommend dining there. Both breakfast and dinner are served in the open, in the garden. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Note that credit cards are not accepted, so bring cash or else get some from one of the many local ATM machines or banks. All in all we found this a charming place to stay.

This was a lovely stay. We stayed for one night on our tour of Morocco. The property was gorgeous (lots of greenery) - our room was a good size with comfortable beds and the bathroom fixtures were beautiful.

The service was great. We were greeted with tea upon arrival. And service during dinner and breakfast was good. The food was delicious - we (group of 5) all agreed that the pumpkin/squash soup they served during dinner was the best soup we had all week in Morocco. YUM! The chicken tagine dish was also very good.

Overall, great stay. Taroudant can be a bit busy on the streets, but the hotel felt like an oasis of calm. Once we stepped inside the pretty blue door of the hotel, everything was so peaceful!

Rather disappointed with the things to see/ do in Taroudant we spent a lot of time inside the Riad. A stunning architecture, I can not fault it in any way. Large beautiful rooms, amazing roof terrace, delicious dinner ( sea food pastilla/ grilled vegetables as main course). Inviting patio pool and very competent staff. Excellent value for money. Thank you Zohra and every one else for such a nice stay.

On our tour to Morocco we stayed 1 night in Taroudant's Palais Oumensour. Taroudant itself is not the most fascinating town in Morocco, but the riad is worth staying one or more nights. It's a hidden treasure in Taroudant in a beautiful reduced(modern) morrocan style. Rooms and Suites are spacious. Good dinner and breakfast. We felt like home.

Had a lovely time staying at this Riad - tucked away in a side street - quiet but centrally located with peaceful gardens to sit in while resting weary feet. Petit taxi managed to find it without too much trouble. Our room/suite was comfortable and very spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful - a problem with our shower was dealt with promptly and efficiently. We (unfortunately) only ate dinner once in the hotel but our meal was excellent- Franco/Moroccan I guess you could describe it prepared from scratch with ingredients bought that day hence needing to book in advance. Breakfast was good and plentiful. A one day walking excursion into the Atlas organised through the hotel was excellent and certainly an easy way to see at least a little of the surrounding hills with only limited time available. It has whetted our apetites for longer treks with the prospect of coming back to Palais Oumensour for a bit of comfort afterwards.

We stayed 2 nights in a junior suite, very nice room. Excellent and attentive service. Great dinner and breakfast. We also used the jacuzzi and hammam.
It is in the center of town, very convenient.
We will definitely return, and would recommend this.

The Palais oumensour is a beautiful Rhyad in the traditional/modern Moroccan style.Yes it is tucked away, just as are most ryads in Morocco, this is part of the joy;finding hinden tresures where you least expect it. A good idea when trying to locate your rhyad for the first time is to have their telephone number handy so that you can ring them for directions(pass the phone to your driver) I have stayed here a couple of times and have always felt very lucky to be there.I have been the only client at the time(luxury) but not for those who like the bustle of other guests.
I have always found Miriam, the Moroccan manager very helpfull and friendly and the service has been attentive. As I spend a lot of time in Taroudant I have come here for diner(you must book) and the food has been delicious.I would recomend coming here for a special meal. The food is not cheap by Moroccan standards but is has an elegance and sophistication that definately adds to the meal in delightful suroundings. .

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are lovely.I
