“awful sub-standard food - nice service - shame”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

such a shame, I love f&b but this outlet is sub-standard - fish & chips, fish was dark brown batter looked like a cutlet or something, usual powdery oven chips, tragic - my son's burger meat was not beef as advertised, tasted like another cut of meat mixed with it - not cheap either - I really feel cheated. Service was excellent, some poor rooky doing a grand job but almost looked embarrassed when my plate was served! So difficult to cause a fuss as this was supposed to be a special meal with family, normally I would sort it with the management.

“Terrible service and food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

This place sucks compared to the Guilford branch we visited the week before. Staff are grumpy and put little effort in. Lasagne served up was still frozen in the middle. The waiter when told said hold on a minute and went off to clean an empty table before coming back to take frozen dish away. Considering the restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday night, I think the frozen dish should have taken priority. Still I guess the restaurant being empty on the peak night at 8pm says it all really.

“Poor service, average food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

We gave this place another go as we were staying in Redhill town centre for a week and we had a voucher. When we entered, we stood waiting to be seated. A (the!!) waiter was a couple of metres from us and didn't even look up. Mean girl was a little annoyed and may well have turned and headed for an alternative if stupid boy hadn't said to wait. When he did finally approach us he was obviously aware that we weren't happy and announced that he was on his own that night. Well, one: 'whilst i'm sympathetic, that's not really my problem' and two, I didn't expect him to drop everything the moment we walked through the door, all I expected was eye contact and a nod or smile to acknowledge us. From there on in it wasn't good. Service was hurried and without friendliness - I think we were in and out in less than an hour. The bill was brought automatically when mean girl declined desert when the tables were cleared and whilst stupid boy was in the toilet so there wasn't an opportunity to ask for the bill and at the same point inform the waiter that we had a voucher. To be fair to him, when the waiter was told he went away to get a new bill without protest. It's all such a shame because Redhill has plenty of potential customers and a lack of restaurants but this place just adds to the problem. We'll keep going to Reigate, Crawley etc.

“We weren't impressed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012 via mobile

The service was excellent but unfortunately the food failed to meet our expectations - it's supposedly a New York style grill yet the burger was very average. We may well give it one more chance at some point as there aren't that many local places but we haven't so far.
