We sayed at the Grand for 5 days. I will never stay there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
Our first night we got a room service pizza that was the worst pizza I ever ate. The next morning, I took a shower and immediately noticed that the drain in the shower does not drain, so you are forced to stand in dirty washwater that gets about mid foot deep. I asked that they repair the problem, but the drain remained slow for the remainder of our stay.
The tiles in the bathroom were cracked, stained and old. The toilet seat had black stains all over it. The water pressure in the shower was slow and poor.
The bed sheets on the bed were about a foot too short. It was like they put queen size flat sheets on a king size bed. They never fit properly during our stay at all. Your feet are on the mattress cover.
The hotel was supposedly full and there were no fridges available for us. That was a real disappointment for us during our stay. Our room didn't get cleaned for two days as well.
The first morning of our stay we had the breakfast buffet. It was very expensive for watered down juice, stale breads, soggy bacon and sausage that tasted like it was made hours prior.
Not wanting to have another bad buffet at this hotel, we tried to get a couple ceasar salads and two appetizers off the bar menu. They made us wait almost two hours for two soggy salads that were horrible and limp, and then we were told that the appetizers were not available. We had ordered one drink to tide us over, because the wait was so incredibly long. Our drink was all watered down like the morning's fruit juices. That was the last meal we chose to eat at the hotel. We decided to opt for better meals, elsewhere.
The pools look nice, but there are broken tiles everywhere and the wood slats around the pool are very dangerous. I really tried to be cautious due to the dangerous holes all around the pool entry. The spa tubs are really cold, so they are completely unusable for a spa dip.
The one poisitve thing I will say about this resort is that the grounds are pretty. The plants are beautiful, so their gardeners do deserve the only positive comment.
The Grand has the potential to be a truly grand hotel, but it needs a makeover and better food for people to really enjoy their stay.

Room Tip: I do not know where the good rooms are at this hotel.

I am writing this while still at this hotel. I read the other reviews before I came and was encouraged. However, this has turned out to be a very disappointing experience for my family and judging by what other guests are telling me, for them too.
We are a party of 8 adults and 4 children under 10. Who booked an all inclusive package over Christmas. Despite previous communication with the hotel they were unable to put us in rooms near each other. Then after arrival we discovered this is the first time they had accepted all inclusive guests. No-one knew including management what was actually included on the all inclusive package. This led to confusion as at one bar you would get a drink then be refused the same drink at another. Then it became apparent bottled water was not part of the package and was a $3 charge per bottle.
Food service has been unbelievably slow. We have waited, on two occasions now, nearly two hours for our lunch time food order. With children under 10 imagine ordering a pepperoni pizza then waiting that long for pizzas that finally arrived with green peppers on them but no pepperoni not once but twice!!
The evening buffet has become repetitive and uninspiring. The Christmas day meal was described as a five course meal but that was artistic license in the extreme.
There are staff members here doing their best to deal with the situation but it is clear owners and or management had little or no knowledge about providing an all inclusive package along side regular guests. The hotel also currently lacks enough staff to deal with the number of guests (it is not very full either).
The grounds and rooms are ok and kept clean. The beach is excellent and the odd vendors are not persistent if you are polite. All in all we are a group who will not be returning and I can not in good conscience recommend this hotel to other travelers.

I apologize for the disappointing experience that you had during your recent visit.

We are sorry that your rooms were not as near to each other as you would have liked.
All requests are treated with high priority and we are disappointed when we cannot fullfill them satisfactorily.

The all inclusive plan was new to us and we did experience some teething problems. However, we have examined our short falls and have modified the areas where we were experiencing problems.

This has greatly increased our service delivery which is an area that we will continue to monitor.

Comfortable rooms...great location on beach. Restaurant food is your typical fare...nothing terribly exciting or inspiring but decent enough. Close to supermarket and a few other meal options..notably Rick's cafe (decent pizza) and lazy days on beach. Housekeeping can be hit or miss...forgetting to replenish toiletries and fresh towels. Front desk a bit slow but very courteous. Beach is great...highlight of the resort....chairs with umbrella will run you approx $20EC per day but well worth it.

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms well worth it.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The grounds are beautiful as is the bar, pool and restaurant area. Our hotel room was likely built in the 1960s and had a few facelifts. The bed was okay, tv is 20 years old, power outlets in both 110 and 220 (we brought a converter that worked). The beach is beautiful and it is located in a good overall place. Grocery store is across the street and food (Italian, sushi, subway, ice cream, bar food, and bagels) is nearby. Our friends got a last minute deal at the same rate (135) we paid and were in the executive room Oceanside and the room is modern with fridge. Overall a positive experience.

We stayed 2 weeks here, in a garden view hotel. The Staff were polite and helpful, Linda was exceptional, full of fun and good at her job.The gardens and 90m pool were brillant as was the beachfront. The gym also had some descent equipment. The food was hit and miss as was the bar service, which at times was poor. Rooms were clean, however sometimes disorganised with things not been done and consumables randomly replaced, a little fridge would be good and a spoon for stirring. However we enjoyed our stay, and the pleasant people. Louise and luke

I tagged along with a friend who was in Grenada for work and I had such a relaxing time at this resort. We had a room with an ocean view and it was wonderful to wake up to that view each day. A tiny lizard, greeted us when we first arrived, but after he was escorted out of the room, we didn't see anything else to complain about. The room was clean and very comfortable.

The breakfast being served on the resort was delicious, but I would go somewhere else for dinner. I only tried to eat dinner there once and did not like what I ordered so I didn’t chance it again. I loved how empty the beach was, but I didn’t love the beach peddlers. They are very aggressive and do not take no for an answer. Having one person after another approach you literally every 5-10 minutes is extremely annoying. No way you can relax like that. When it got to be too much, I went back to the resort and stayed by the pool. Regardless I had a great time.

Stayed here this past weekend (December 2012) with my wife and daughter for our wedding anniversary and had a nice experience. We stayed in an excutive beachfront room on the 3rd floor which was ideal and had a great view of grand anse beach. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There was a ceiling fan, a/c, wireless internet, cable TV, safe, iron and hair dryer in our room. The only negative is that the land the hotel occupies is large and there is a little distance from our room and the restaurants and entrance. One of the restaurants (the Oasis Bar and Grill) was very close, but it opens at 10am and closes at 5pm. Also, since ice machines are not on every floor, and we had a little bit walk to do to get to the ice machine. However, this was not a big problem with us as the walk was just several minutes, and room service is available till 11pm.

Location is ideal - the hotel is in Grand Anse which is the tourist side of Grenada, and there are several other hotels neaby. Opposite the entrance of the hotel is a small mall with foodfair supermarket, small shops, sanvic's car rental, rick's cafe and a pharmacy. Grand Anse beach (best beach in Grenada) is walking distance away from your room........literally just a few seconds away if you have a beachfront room. A bigger mall (Spiceisland mall) is about 15 mins walking. Umbrellas restarant is also a similar distance if you walk along Grand Anse beach.

Service is nice enough, not exceptional. Check-in was easy and quick, and check-out was just as fast without any problems. Service at the restaurants was also ok. The Oasis swimming pool was located next to our building and it was great. There is a swim-up bar, two waterfalls, and two jacuzzis. At the time we stayed the water in the jacuzzis was cold though.

I'm not sure about any kids activities (my daughter just loved the pool) and I doubt they have much, but honestly I did not ask. Overall I would say this is a very good hotel and would definitely return.
