The 5 minute drive from the airport is a definite advantage after a long flight. You always get a warm welcome with a cool cloth and a cold drink. if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing break with very friendly and caring staff, good food and fantastic views this is the place for you. My husband and I have just returned from our 7th visit here so I think that speaks for itself. We have been to a few Carribean Islalands over the years but we are drawn back to Grenada and the wonderful people. The beautiful grounds and lake are a bonus with lots of interesting wildlife. After a stroll round the lake in the evening we always end up at the pool bar for a cocktail to watch the sun setting over the ocean and the Egrets roosting in the trees. The resort has a wonderful relaxing ambience and we met many guests who have returned year after year. The room was well serviced with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and quiet and efficient air conditioning. Many thanks to all the staff for making a holiday so enjoyable especially Adonis, Alison, Gerard and Leslie. We will definately be coming back next year.

Room tip: Block A has excellent views over the lake and ocean.

My daughter (aged 16) and I stayed at the Hotel during the period March 31 to April 10/2013. From the moment we arrived at the hotel and the warm welcome we received (and fruit punch) to the moment we left we had a wonderful time. All the staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The food was amazing with a terrific selection. I still think of the various soups on offer and my daughter considers that the desserts (and plantain) were some of the best she had ever tasted (and she tried most of them!!) Our clean room looked over the beach front and the view was truly beautiful. I would have preferred a shower with a flexible hose but that is just my personal preference. The pool and the area surrounding the hotel was lovely. As a solicitor I was looking forward to a well deserved break from work and this was achieved. I noted that one of the guests had been coming to the place for 20 years. I rest my case. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return. Thank you to everyone at the Grenadian for making our stay so enjoyable!!

Room tip: Middle floors beach front rooms.

Our stay during the period of March 25 - April 1st/2013 was very enjoyable and look forward to a return visit.

Positives: 5 min. to airport, all staff friendly and helpful, food very good with lots of selection, lovely pool and beach areas with great view of ocean and surrounding area, room clean with lots of hot water, mini fridge and safe provided, air conditioning worked well..pay attention to note on bathroom door to keep it closed for maximum efficiency, steel band "Wizards" provided an awesome evening of entertainment.

Negatives: Beach area to left of pool, although very beautiful and great for walks and drinks at beach bar, is not the best for swimming - suggest to use beach on right of pool where sports activities are arranged. Shower gel and shampoo was not replenished after use...fortunately had brought a bit, so it was not an issue. Day prior to leaving requested and it was quickly supplied. Some vendors on beach, but not a problem if you say pleasantly, but firmly, "no thanks".

Suggested Tours: Market at St. Georges with Fort Visit (half day) , Catamaran Day Tour to Island for Lobster Dinner, Day Tour to Grenadines on Schooner.

Note: Special thanks to Dahalia who worked at the bars and was especially personable and aimed to please.

It is a great 3+ resort and would most definately recommend. Grenada is a beautiful island to visit with friendly, helpful residents.

Firstly on a plus side the staff in this hotel are pretty friendly. The view from our room was also stunning. Unfortunately these are the only two positive things i can say about this hotel. Also I think some of these previously written reviews are seriously questionable or the reviewers have incredibly low expectations.

Firstly there are no lifts in this hotel as it is so basic and judging by the state of maintenance you really would not feel safe using one here anyway. However it really is exhausting getting to your room and we were on the third floor.

Secondly the rooms are the absolute pits. A cross between a bangkok prison and an orphanage. It looks like the furniture has been pulled together from a charity shop. The bed linen is cheap and nasty and is some sort of polyester that makes you feel hot and clammy all night. The air conditioning does not go lower than 25 degrees so is as good as useless.

This is the most basic all inclusive I have ever stayed in. I also find it hard to believe that once you cross the dilapidated old foyer across the old laminate floor to a run down restaurant which would make the Little Chef look like Claridges they then is impose a strict dress code for dinner. It does make me chuckle how bad this place is.

Also if you enjoy a bit of exercise each day your out of luck as the gym is shocking the equipment looks like some rusty middle age torture device and after using it your hands are filthy.

Overall there are too many faults to list with this hotel and either a massive investment needs to be made on it or its probably best just to close it up.

Well what can I say about this place!? Certainly not much positive. I have stayed in 3 Rex resorts in my time on Caribbean islands and they have all been horrid, there must be something about this brand, they just don't invest money in their products or services at all.
This place is totally run down, infact saying run down does not come close, it's disgusting just how bad it really is there.
I can honestly say that I will never return here or to any Rex Resort ever again.
The food here is like slops that you would feed to the pigs, it's vile. To have a dress code somewhere of this standard is a joke too. All inclusive is rubbish, it does not actually include anything decent in terms of breakfast lunch or dinner, the a la carte restaurants should be free and included in the package.
Staff are non descript, some friendly enough but nothing to write home about at all.
The general upkeep of this hotel is disgusting, it either needs a total refit or needs to be closed down. Don't waste your money coming here.
Walk to room from reception was hideous, no lifts so had to drag cases up 4 flights of stairs!
The rooms are gross. Ours had ragedy old torn curtains, not black out at all. An air conditioner that did not work below 25 degrees and it was very noisy. The furniture is totally old and knackered in the room. The bed hard and old, pillows lumpy.
The bathroom is old and worn out, dirty too and brown water coming out of taps! Hairdryer is a joke, looks like something you would have used in the 70's! I could have got my partner to blow on my hair and dry it quicker for me!
Locks on door are old and tired and do not work properly and only one worked plus no safe! Door rattled in wind all night every night, it was a hideous sleeping experience to say the least as we were constantly paranoid and waking up thinking that someone was breaking into room.
Wifi did not work in room, only in lobby and by pool and this was sporadic.
Beach is nice but vendors do your head in. Water is rocky and slimey.
Pool area is tiny and lunch served here is like something served up at a concentration camp.
View from room was nice and quite pretty but really that is all this place had going for it to be fair.
Please do not waste your vacation coming here and do not waste your hard earned money either.
Grenada is a lovely place, but it would be much nicer if this Rex hotel/resort/disaster was not here! What a joke!
