Stayed first night at La Heliconia. next door to Sandals as we got in late and didn't want to waste a day of paid vacation at Sandals by just going to bed. Got up next morn. and went to Sandals around 9 a.m.-checked in and room was ready by noonish. This is our 17th. Sandals trip starting with our Honeymoon at Ocho. La Source was wonderful. Could not believe so close to airport but no air traffic noise. The outstanding thing that first hits me about the resort in everyones "were here to make you happy" attitude. Of course we've experienced that before (that's why we keep coming back) but somehow they "Sandalized the whole Island" everyone we met was there to please. From Peter Frazer, Gen. Mgr. to William in concierge, to Troyson in Water sports...they can't do enough for you.

My wife and I, along with 2 close friends, spent 7 days in paradise. From the moment we were greeted to the time we had to say goodbye, the trip was wonderful. It is very clear to see that Mr. Fraser's leadership style and his dedication to excellence has taken root in Grenada. So wonderful to see his efforts come to fruition along with a wonderful team dedicated to their guests. This is a must see destination and a must visit resort. Great dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives at the tipsy turtle and the company was even better!!!!

We would like to personally recognize Kirt and Clarista, our butlers. They were so wonderful in ensuring my wife and I had a magical trip. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and they did extra special things each and every day to make her smile.

Rondell, Jennika and Devon at the pool bar always greeted us with a smile and an ice cold beverage. Natalie at Le Jardinier in the morning was always so pleasant. A huge thank you to LaToya at Butch's. Your singing, your smile, and your wonderful outlook on life was truly uplifting.

Sandals LaSource is an impressive resort with a fantastic layout. The snorkeling at the beach is terrific, the food is wonderful at all dining venues, and the staff's commitment to the guest is beyond words. Well done my friends, well done!

Room Tip: Pink Gin is beachfront, South Seas is closer to the swim up bar. Butler rooms are gorgeous.

Three 3 "r"'s above are exactly what we needed and exactly what we received.

I left with many experiences, impressions and observations:

1. If you want to be relaxed and pampered a butler suite is the way to go. We had the Italian swim-up bi-level and it was exactly what we wanted. Enough privacy, but also some possible interaction with other guests. There were some issues with cleanliness when we first arrived in the bathroom and it definitively was not a great first impression after 12 hours of traveling. Also I was told by several different Sandals representatives that there were plenty of US outlets and we didn't need need an adapter. That is not true, there were not any in the bathroom, so I had to sit on the desk each day to flat iron my hair. It did lead me to use the salon a couple times to get my hair fixed. This was a nice treat.

2. Some service was great and some service was poor. Some staff seem to care a lot and some not so much and seem to be burdened that we were "bugging them". The South Seas pool bar staff was great, butler staff (not just ours) were wonderful, and we even had a groundsmen (Jeremy) cut a coconut right off the try to give us fresh coconut water!

3. The free internet was great and speed was impressive. Nice to have choices for movies and tv in the rooms when you just want to chill out.

4. The crickets are loud! Of the hundreds of reviews I read prior to our trip I never read one thing about crickets, but where our room was, for about 8 or 9 ours they chirp endlessly and loudly. Nothing can be done about this but something to be aware of. I am sensitive to sounds, but it did not bother my husband at all.

5. Food and drinks overall were very good. The French restaurant, sushi, beach party buffet, breakfast at Italian, and pizza were our favorites. Butches is very good too, but since we are from the state that probably produces the beef they serve, Nebraska, we did not feel a need to eat there more than once. We wanted to eat as much seafood as we could. The Italian for supper was not great. The room service menu was limited and boring. The espresso in the coffee shop was very good, but crepes not so much. The fruit water was always refreshing.

6. We had a couples massage which was good and came with our package. I am glad we didn't have to pay full price though. We get massages quite frequently and it was a fine experience, but nothing extraordinary. And trying to sell us random expensive products at the end of our experience is annoying (most resort spas do this, but still not a great way to end your massage). Also we were told to come early and enjoy the steam room and sauna. The steam room was broke and the staff seemed annoyed that we came early even though the instructions said to. Awkward.

7. We took a private tour with an outside company, Sunsations. Highly recommend that.

8. The complimentary 15 min. photo shoot was nice and we captured a new couples photo which we wanted. The system for choosing pictures in the photoshop could be improved and of course the pictures are expensive, but we received what we wanted. The gift shop staff was great and they have a nice selection of cigars that we enjoyed by the pool fire pit. If you want t-shirts check out the surf shop.

9. I was really looking forward to playing tennis. But the tennis pro deemed I didn't have the correct shoes, so was not allowed to play. Disappointing. So make sure to bring proper tennis shoes if you want to play. The gym is a nice way to even out some overindulgence.

10. We liked to have drinks in our room, especially rum and cokes, but our glasses didn't get replenished frequently so we often had to drink out of flutes. Not a big deal, but not great service. It is nice to have beer, rum, and champagne waiting for you in the room anytime you want.

Overall we are glad we choose Grenada and Sandals for our first all-inclusive experience.

This is by far the best vacation ever! We were soooo pampered. The rooms are luxurious, the grounds are beautiful, the the staff can't do enough for you. There are so many choices for restaurants, and they're all fantastic .
Awesome place ! The best part is it's all included, even the sports, sightseeing, and nightly entertainment .
All you can eat, all you can drink, and all top of the line!

Room Tip: We stayed in the south seas waterfall river pool jr suite with veranda soaking tub and it was perfec...

I've stayed at Sandals Ocho Rios 3 times. Each time was more amazing than the last. Hubby and I didn't want to go back to Jamaica. At first we thought the trip might have been a bit pricey. Well the only thing we regret is not staying additional days. LaSource is such an amazing resort and the staff were all incredible. Will definitely be going back.

Room Tip: South Seas villas were great. The parties are mainly on the other side after 10:00 pm.

My husband and I spent 11 nights at sandals la source. We are sandals select members so this wasn't our first experience with them and we pretty much knew what to expect. Same restaurants. Same entertainment.

We had a river pool walk out room. It was really private and convenient for early morning or late night swims. We were close to the "loud" pool so if you like to sleep in, you would want to be closer to the beach. We get up early anyway so it was no bother to us that music started around 9:30 am. In fact we enjoyed the action and music vibe of this side of the resort.

Grenada is hilly. So expect it on the resort grounds. If you don't like to walk hills you may want to inquire with the resort which room would be best for you. Most likely the taller building near the beach. We like to walk and are active, so again, this didn't bother us.

Grenada is a less than 1% crime island. Please leave the resort to explore! You don't even need to book with island routes. Rent a car. You can even walk to the airport and rent one. But, if you do nothing else, walk out of the resort. Make a left. Going toward the airport. And about 10 mins / 1 mile on your left is a place called the Aquarium. Walk down the hill and have lunch or a drink on the beach. It's totally worth it. This is what Grenada looks like unspoiled by big resort grounds. Amazing.

Other than that. Please take advantage of the included sightseeing boat tour. They run daily at 3pm. We were lucky enough to go all the way to the harbor and see Georgetown. This made up for the fact that both of our scheduled tours got canceled due to not enough people interested. Again, if we had known from day one that our tours were going to get canceled we would have just gone out and explored by ourselves. This isn't the kind of island you want to spend all of your time on the resort.

With that said, we would not do 11 nights again. The resort is smaller and sort of confined. I'm comparing it to Beaches Turks and Caicos which is expansive and has us spoiled. We booked the extra nights because of the long travel day. If leaving from the States you won't arrive until about 8:30pm at night. We did hear that some new airlines and times will start to be offered in June. So that may be better going forward. Also it gets dark in Grenada at 6:30pm every single day. So be prepared for that.

Anyway, 11 nights was too much. We did everything and some things twice. A week would have been fine.

All food was great. Restaurants very clean and well taken care of. Bar staff are slower here than other resorts. So be prepared to wait for your drink. Sometimes a very long time. Everyone is friendly.

Loved the room. They are definitely set up for romance and couples. They have an open shower and two well placed mirrors. My husband and I didn't mind at all. But I can see how some couples may want more privacy.

Overall crowd was either honeymooners or retired couples. Being that we fall in the middle of that at in our 30s and 40s, we found it rare to find other couples our age. However we are social people and get along with everyone. So that didn't matter to us either.

There were some glitches. Like our room key got turned off 4 days early. It was a quick fix. But a bit annoying. We were mostly disappointed in the tours being canceled.

We NEVER found it hard to get a chair at the pool or beach. But we would go early and be there all day.

Overall it was a great vacation and resort and I would recommend giving it a try!
