Did detox in may 15 days the candida one without the juices - its insanely hard but it worked well I was without migraines for 23 full days after returning. Still doing raw food and still without medicine.
Read all the things here and please remember that this is a place where you have to 120% trust the proces and the people in the resort. If you dont - you go nuts - only seeing negatives.Yes it could be cleaner but I told them and they cleaned my room- same with containers and juice containers- and other stuff I experienced. They changed it and I went on with my detox - letting the "letdown" of a dirty bathroom go. I was blessed with an amazing team of detoxteammates. I cannot recommend couples to go - go alone or you will miss out of the amazing group experiences in the "dining" room - we actually called it group therapy...
Oh and I met 4 guests ther who where there for the 4;5 and even 8 th time.. They love the p,ace - are addicted to the detox and the people. It really surprised me not to find more rec in here from those steady clients!!! But it just proves the marketing quote that you tell 10 people if you are pissed at a place and only one if you are happy with it...
Had akkupunkture with amazing results - dr khalid is well experienced and I do think that expanding his area to more benches at a time would do wonders - as he could be booked for days and maybe could help more people with a bigger place there.
I looooooved the food !!!! The chef is really good and I want to back just to eat his food again as I only was able to eat for 2 days before retur ng home.
So - going for a detox and want to be pampered - have über pressure on the water for washing your hair ( frankly I didn't bother for days) a nice and spacious room with new flooring and furniture. And a place where you ca complaint over the frogs keeping you awake - yep that happenned- This is not for you
Do you want a hardcore detox where you are the core of it and takes responsibility for your own progress-and don't mind being " in the jungle" when doing it - this is for you
Made many new friends there - 85 percent where truly as I , happy and exited with the stay and result!

For a health retreat there were some aspects to this place that unfortunately weren't very healthy...

The Australian lady from the videos (on the health oasis website) is no longer managing the retreat and left some time ago. I can only assume the place has gone downhill since she left as the level of management, customer service & facilities is pretty low. I knew this wasn't 5 star however, I did expect it to be clean and in better shape than it is considering its a health retreat.

I was asked to pay more money at checkin than was quoted in my confirmation email from "Sam". Thankfully I had the entire email trail to show the confirmed price. Then, they tried to make me pay extra for airconditioning even though the price quoted in my email was for an airconditioned room. Not sure if this was due to incompetence or dishonesty..Fortunately I paid the quoted price in my email. It wasn't a very welcoming experience at checkin..I almost checked out..

There's a communal dining area where people tend to congregate and take their shakes & supplements etc. Guests come from all over the world but mainly from western countries. I met some fantastic people here and had many great conversations.

Many people changed rooms during the time I stayed..sometimes more than once. The standard of rooms varies enormously. A few people in the superior aircon rooms shifted to the standard rooms & vice versa..so it depends on what your personal standards & expectations are. The best rooms are around the pool (polished boards). The older rooms near the sauna have mismatched furniture & single beds with different bedheads pushed together and are just plain shabby. The 2 and 3 bedroom beachhouses were quite nice. Having the right room will probably completely alter your experience at this resort. I disinfected my whole bathroom as it hadn't been cleaned properly (some other people did the same!). When my colonic equipment arrived I noticed the collection basket had dried faecal matter on it...so I bought my own from Tesco!

The sea view is lovely..infact one of the nicest views on Koh Samui. It was very relaxing in the pool & on the beach looking at the beautiful view..a redeeming feature of this resort.

Tong and his beautiful family were lovely and work so hard to try to maintain this resort given their resources from management. Not sure how healthy it is however for management to make staff work from 6.30am to 9pm 7 days per week with no day off on low wages..that includes the massage staff.

The consultation with the Doctor was very brief. I thought it would be alot more indepth as did other people. The Doctor, who is very knowledgable, is rather defensive at times and needs to improve his bedside manner. A few people commented on this.

Overall the programme is quite good. It would've been so much better if the place had decent management and if overall standards were improved ie; if the juice jugs were cleaned properly (mould under the lids), if the teapots were washed (they were just emptied of tea and returned to the table), the gym equipment was replaced with working treadmill etc.( I went to "The Sea" resort and payed 300bht per hr to use their gym), customer service improved, rooms cleaned properly etc. The grounds need maintenance, communal furniture needs replacing, there is stuff piled up in various locations & there is a very unsafe ricketty bridge at the back of the property for the workers to cross. Basically the the place needs maintenance & clean up. I believe excellent results could be achieved here just by making a few improvements.

If you get a good room and have no bad customer service experiences, or you're used to backpacking and slumming it you won't mind staying here and will probably be wondering why some people are dissappointed. If you have higher standards save up some extra money and go to "The Spa Resort" which I went to after I completed my programme (the sea view is not as nice). Or, for a luxury health retreat "Absolute Sanctuary" or "Kamalaya" all on Koh Samui.

Room Tip: The rooms around the pool are nice with polished boards. Stay away from the older rooms near the sau...

World Health Organisation define "Health" as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity
The dictionary refers to "Oasis" as a pleasant or peaceful area, whilst "Resort" as a place that is a popular destination for vacations or recreation, or which is frequented for a particular purpose.

This place does not reflect the meaning of these words!

Airport transfer - didn't show up. I called and then waited for nearly an hour. On arrival at the "resort" I was left standing at the counter and was ignored, clearly not as important as the music videos that the "chef" was watching. The redemption came in the form of the cleaning lady who was just lovely and escorted me to my room. You come here for a purpose. To cleanse, to recharge and to relax. Well the only relaxing thing was the view from my room. The room itself was small (2 single bases at differing heights pushed together) with a double mattress on top. It wasn't the cleanest either with stained sheets and dirty walls. I was very close to checking out in the morning but after meeting Dr Khalid I decided to grit my teeth and stay put. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I was already in 'detox' mode when on day 3 I discovered the chef watering down the juices with TAP water!! So much for health! I asked the owner for the water certificate to prove that the tap water was potable but this was never produced. I then took it upon myself to water down my own juices with bottled water. I stuck it out. Dr Khalid was wonderful with his acupuncture and advice. In fact he was the only one that explained what was included and what to expect.
Moldy fridges, dirty plastic containers with hot water for DIY colonics (with some floaty things in the water at times, scary considering this is going inside you!) plastic shake containers that were dirty, and medications that sit all day long in the heat which I discovered on check out are reused! Gross! Goodness knows how many people had used the eye dropper dispenser in their mouth before me! As for the massages provided, well they were not the best (cellulite massage = someone slapping your fat) and Aromatherapy is someone drowning you in oil, so I resorted to visiting Khun Porn down the beach to the left of the resort, near the laundry. Her herbal ball massages at 6am were wonderful. The gym equipment is old and most of it is broken. The reception and "relaxing" areas are dirty with lots of broken furniture. Only 3 sun loungers by the pool and no sun loungers on the beach. The yoga teachers were great. Did I find the program beneficial? Yes but I know you can do similar things at other places. I checked out Mind, Body & Spirit, Absolute Sanctuary and Kamalaya whilst I was on the island and I'd recommend Absolute Sanctuary for a place to detox.
Health Oasis Resort is such a lovely setting on a beautiful quiet beach, it is such a shame that they don't have a proper manager, and put some money back into the infrastructure. The owners did not once introduced themselves to me and I found it amusing that even their relatives that were staying were also complaining. As mentioned here in another review it was the other guests that helped make the stay bearable, but it shouldn't be such a negative experience especially when you are trying to do something positive in your life.

After 12 days I checked out (didn't want to eat from the unhygienic kitchen) and checked in at The Sea up the beach.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms but none of the rooms are soundproofed and you can hear everything through the wa...

I enjoyed every single minute at the Oasis. The location on the beach, the small but comfortable bungalow on the pool, the staff, the detox programm, everything was just perfect.

I did the two week detox programm and reached all my goals. I have been at the Oasis in December 2011 and plan to be back in October 2012. I then hope to reach my target BMI of 25 with the help of Dr. Manta and her staff. All of them were wonderful and caring.

Early in the morning I went to the Yoga class and for somebody like me who never did Yoga outside of the ressort, the class turned out to be an eye opener. Satas, our teacher was very supportive and with his excellent teaching he helped me to overcome my handicaps.

In the afternoon I got my daily massage from Suwan who happens to be blind. He is just the most perfect and sensitive masseur one could wish to have.

I sincerely would like to thank Manta (a doctor in Chinese medicine) for her great programm and for the possibility to be her guest at this wonderful place.

I have completed my stay at Health Oasis.

Positives - The program works, the cleaning staff Tong and his family are amazing and keep the place going

Negatives - The place is a dump. the price you pay for the program, and you would expect that the resort would use some of the money into upgrading the facilities. The resort is poorly managed with lack of communication between "Sam" at reservations and staff at the resort. The Male manager is arrogant and cocky and happily argues with customers. You need to ask for everything that is in your program otherwise you do not receive it. The other guests make the stay bearable, as they are all laughing at the lack of customer service and have called it faulty towers, as everything is broken or in need of repair. If you are unable to afford a more expensive resort then this will do, but I would seriously think twice about staying here. They are all about taking your money....

If you are a repeat customer you get treated nicely - as a lot of theses comment are from repeat customers. However the staff are temperamental and can be nice to you one moment and rude to you the next.

At the end of the day - I am not sure I would return to the resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room by the pool
