“Still perfect !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

I just made my fourth stay in Amarin and am still very happy to go back there every year.
I always get one of the coconut view rooms. The rooms are very modern and all of them are organised differently.
Even if this time I went in February (pick of season), the hotel was quite full, I have never been disturb in my sleep.
The hotel is in Mae Nam, a quiet place in Samui, at one minute from some paradise beaches, good restaurants, weekly night markets, Lumpraya peer to other islands, 100 back roads for motorbike rides and 10 minutes from Nathon.
The house keeping staff is very good, pleasant and professional as the reception staff and the manager Lynn who can help you in a perfect English.
You can also enjoy a pool on the roof !

Room Tip: the coconut view is for sure better than the road view

location is quite quiet , maybe 20 or so bars and places to each in walking distance but very quiet often nobody inside. breakfast was good, staff very helpful, pool was small but nice, food in hotel good and cheap, rooms are large ( studio) good shower, dvds to rent which is good as evenings are a bit boring in this area, and all dvds we borrowed did work, unlike some previous reviews suggested. tv has bbc news 24 in english, but all the rest thai. the area outside the hotel is not like other places in thailand the shops dont hassle you, and no men blagging you to buy a suit. good place to spend a relaxing week, but any more would be boring. tip... when we booked the price for a week was cheaper than 5 or 6 days?? dont know why.
had a few issues with what was included in the room and have spoken to booking .com about this, the descripion has now been changed, but still a bit angry we didnt get what we thought we were getting when we booked.

After reading other reviews say the hotel is great i feel the need to inform potential customers that we had a very bad experience at this hotel. We visited in July 2012 and found and empty, dirty hotel in a rubbish location. Our room had no wallpaper and marks all over the walls. The bathroom was dirty with a mouldy shower and curtain. Our room also had a very unpleasent smell! Upstair the whole bar had been shut down leaving a dirty, run down area that kids shoud not be around. It also meant there was no area to sit outside and eat in the evenings. The only bar was in the hotel lobby! It is avertised as a 'Resort' however i felt as though there was no were to relax other than our room. The receptionist who checked us in was friendly but was unable to deal with our complaints satisfactorly. The Manager was also very unhelpful and so we checked out. Although this hotel is cheap it is not good value as we found much better accodomation 15 mins down the road at the same price. I really hope no one else has there holiday ruined at this horrible hotel.

Lack of light in the rooms and corridors creates a bit gloomy atmosphere especially in the evening. Also rooms are far less attractive than they appear in the photoes. Pillows are somehow ultimately uncomfortable - never paid attention to such a thing in Thailand before, so there have to be something.

The breakfast in this hotel was the most modest ever I have had in Thailand so far: lame coffee and bread basket conquered by ants.

In some hotel descriptions it was mentioned that there would have been a fitness room, but in the reality there is none.

In the upside the rooftop pool is nice, and personnel tries to be helpful. Motorbike rental through the reception was the most flexible I've ever experienced in Thailand so far.

My girlfriend and i stayed here for 3 weeks in december 2011 her first time in Koh Samui/Thailand so she was'nt sure what to expect.I myself have stayed at the Amarin Victoria many times and have always been extremely satisfied. The hotel itself is very clean with a minimalistic feel which works very well. The staff are warm and friendly with a good sense of humour. Our room was a decent size with balcony, walk in shower, bath, massive bed plus everything else you would expect from a great hotel such as this. Its situated in Mae Nam a quieter part of samui all be it apart that offers plenty. The beach, gym, 7/11, bars, resturants, chemist are all but a short walk away. Check out fishermans village for a good night out, getting there is easy and inexpensive just flag down a baht bus they run past the front door. To sum it up the amarin victoria is fantastic value for money... My girl and i will most definatly be back in the near future if not sooner.
