“Beautiful setting, lovely staff and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

The hotel itself is very picturesque, I can't say the same for the area that it is in but it means you look forward to getting back to your room. We paid for the upgrade for our private roof terrace and jacuzzi, it was definately worth it. The views are amazing. The pool is lovely and again has great views. The pool area music was lovely, perfect for the occasions. I even found out what the album was to download at home. The bed were huge so felt like luxury. You are given complimentary flip flops, beach bag and gown to use during your stay. The staff are lovely people, especially Apple who works in the restaurant and Golf who works in reception. There is a free car park which is watched by an attendant at all times. She was lovely, sadly didn't get her name. There were two dogs who roamed the car park but they did have collars so must belong to the staff. They were very friendly too, just watch out for them when your parking, they don't like to move out of the way. The food at breakfast was great, you must try the bah mee naam! We did attend the restaurant for dinner on the first night but there wasn't very much variety. The starters were wonderful but main meals lacked compared to them. It was a very romantic hotel that was very clean at all times. The only thing that might put you off is that sometimes you run out of hot water and it gives you dirty water from the bottom of the tank. We stayed here for six nights and this only happened to us once.

Stayed here with my wife for 3 nights as a quick little holiday coming from Canada and heading home to Ubon. We were 1 hour late getting to samui but was still greated by the hotel at the airport.. Got to hotel and were welcomed and checked in quickly. When we got to the villa it was a lot larger and more extravagant than I expected. Over all is great value for your money. Shuttle goes every couple hours from resort to its sister resort but we found just renting a scooter for a couple hundred baht per day was the way to go. Great time! Would go again for sure.
Thanks!

We stayed with a group of friends here and the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in one of the 3-bedroom private villas which are large and spacious. It's hard to decide how to rate this place as the hotel itself is great but there were just lots of little things letting it down. The place was very clean, staff were attentive and responded to any request we had quickly. Apple, who everyone raves about on here, lived up to her reputation and was absolutely brilliant. The spa had a special running to include a body scrub with a massage - great value and very relaxing. The private pool was awesome and far better than the large pool (which has sharp tiles and scratchy edges). Now for the small gripes - they constantly kept forgetting to give us towels/bath mats requiring a call nearly every day, the water pressure in the upstairs shower was terrible and went between hot and cold every 60 seconds, the kitchen had no tea towels, the lights in our garden and pool weren't working, the buffet breakfast is average (but not bad). Overall, we had a great stay, the little things just bugged me after a few days but still a great place to stay.

Room Tip: There is a little restaurant down the street on the right hand side down the hill after leaving the...

We stayed in Kirikayan Luxury Pool Villas and Spa first time in year 2009. We liked the hotel that time very much (stayed at the Honeymoon villa) and decided that next time we visit Thailand , we will surely choose this hotel again for staying at the end of our trip in Thailand (it seems to become as a tradition to finish the vacation in Kirikayan  ) But next time we could visit Thailand after long 4 years because of our daughter birth,etc..
Second time we stayed in this hotel in Sep'2013 and I really appreciate the patience and kindness of the hotel staff, especially Mr. Naruebet Tipsawet. We were planning to go to Thai with our friends (family couple), so I booked and paid in advance to the hotel directly for one 3-bed room villa. Later on we decided to change for 2 separate villas and the hotel did it for us and even re-calculate the prices (that time the prices decreased at sawadee and other booking systems). Before the trip itself, our friends informed that they could not go with us because of some sudden problems with health, so I wrote to the hotel and they kindly agreed to cancel one villa booking with return of full amount of balanced payment after our trip without any penalties, etc.. (we agreed that I can use this balance for SPA,etc.. if I want and the balance will be returned to me. By the way, I’m in my country already and the hotel already remitted the balance to my credit card as they promised). At the last stage I again decided to changed the type of villa from one bed room to Honeymoon and the hotel again did it for us without any additional charges (Mr. Naruebet Tipsawet whom I bothered all this time with correspondence and all these requests for changes was very kind and patient )
Now about the hotel, facilities itself and what has changed since our last visit.
a) Before you could go to hotel part of the beach at Maenam and the beach was rather good. Now the guest can go (by free hotel shuttle bus) to their parent hotel Kirikayan Boutique hotel located at Chaweng (but the beach their not so good to be honest if you are with the small children/ The best part of the beach for children is between Al’s resort and Chaweng Bury) .
b) Now guests staying at villas can not get the breakfast delivered to the villa itself, you should go to the hotel restaurant for buffet style breakfast though for us it’s not a problem actually.
c) The SPA , restaurant, reception, all other staff is very friendly and attentive (as well as all other hotel staff) . Our small daughter enjoyed the great attention and kindness to her by the hotel staff and felt herself as a Hollywood star 
d) Villas still looks nice and good (but within 1-2 years might need some light renovation)
e) Price for mini-bar is not so high for the hotel of such type.

Overall , we liked it again. I think main reason is not only the nice facilities, private pool at your villa (their big swimming pool outside is very good also and I think one of the best I’ve saw at Samui (the views are somehow like from “Paradise Park” swimming pool)

The small things we are not so much impressed by : variety of food for the breakfast, daughter hotel beach (but most people who choose Kirikayan for stay, I think wants some quiet and relaxing atmosphere which you will not get if going to the beach, so for us it’s not a problem at all even if the hotel will have only good swimming pool)

Room Tip: if you are afraid of small frogs, snails do not choose villas.Stay in the main building where rooms a...

Our family, two adults and two children (11 and 14 years) stayed at the Kirikayan in early to mid May 2013. We are from New Zealand. We all enjoyed our stay at this resort and would certainly return.

The resort is slightly out of the way, which means It is peaceful, quiet and very relaxing. There is a free daily shuttle from the hotel which goes to its sister hotel in Chaeweng beach. This is a good service and worth utilising. The local beach-about 1km down the road-is nice. There are a number of local shops-but they are no where as good as the ones in Chaeweng.

The resort restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. We had dinner there most nights The free breakfasts are great.

The family unit is well sized and comfortable. It contains all the amenities you may require. It is serviced each day-if you wish. The staff do little extra things ike turn our beds back at night and put on the mozzie coils. We did not encounter any problems with the mosquitoes.

The pool is great and our children spent plenty of in it.

The staff are a great asset to the resort. They are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Apple provides outstanding service. Her English is excellent and she is always willing to talk and answer any questions. Staff are a good source of local information and will book tours and attractions for you.

We all enjoyed our 8 days at the Kirikayan and would recommend it to any other families.

Returning happy here again. More than pleased with everything from the rooms are well proportioned and high standards. The breakfast served is fresh and plenty of choice and the service of the staff is high. Is not located near the sea. but the hotel has a car driving guests free of charge several times a day between there´s hotell. Their second hotel is right on the beach

Great service and beautiful place. We was there in early this year. We stayed both in Maenam and Chaweng.
In Chaweng is closed to shopping center and the beautiful beach.
In Maenam nice and quiet with mountain view. We love it and will go back there again next time. Thank you.
