“Excellent farmhouse great outdoor & indoor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Great farmhouse, very centrally located in the village of Nadur. Owners were also very helpful and forthcoming.
Farmhouse consists of very good sized bedrooms with ensue's. The common areas both inside and outside were quite satisfactory for larger groups, having functional bbq and fireplace.
Cable Television on a 40 (something) inch screen and decent wifi connectivity were also available.

Wonderful Farmhouse set in central Nadur. Very quiet area though. Very big rooms, well equipped and furnished. Owners are very helpful and communication is superb. Swimmin Pool was excellent - clean and fresh. Recommended to anyone looking for a great stay in Gozo.

We spent the first 2 weeks of August at the Tal-Bir Farmhouse in Nadur. Everything was great and we really enjoyed our stay. There were 2 families with 3 kids - which meant there were enough bedrooms and bathrooms for all, and plenty of space.

The pool was brilliant as was the outside dining area with the BBQ where we enjoyed many great evenings. Being in Nadur was great as it allowed us to explore Gozo, quite a few local beaches which were recommended by Charlie - all were great and not crowded (mostly locals). All amenities - shops and restaurants were just a few minutes walk away, with plenty of choice.

Charlie took great care of us, cleaned the pool on a regular basis and also passed on plenty of tips on what to see and where/when to go to various markets, etc. He was always available when we had questions and was extremely helpful.

All-in-all, a great house by great support in a perfect location - would go back without any hesitation :)

Just came back to Malta after a five day stay in this lovely farmhouse. Set in Nadur and altough central the surrounding is very quiet. Very clean comfortable and cosy both for Summer and Winter stay. Owners are very friendly and always ready to help anytime of the day. Even accessible to elderly eople. Prices are reasonable and within budget. Went there last year and this and hoefully next year too. Thanks Theresa and Charlie. Malta family tal pulizija

July 2013,

We went for 3 weeks to Gozo and had the pleasure to stay in Mr and Mrs Debono's farmhouse Tal-bir in Nadur. The first contact with the owners was very charming and nothing was too much to ask during our entire stay. Swimmingpool was cleaned before we even get up and the space and comfort in the farmhouse was perfect! Almost every room had his own toilet and shower and was equiped with airconditioning and larde fan's.
If you want to have a nice holiday in Gozo with 2 or even 3 families, Tal bir will support in all of your comfort and a pleasant holiday will surely be the result!!!

I feel quite delighted to offer the first review on this 5 bedroom farmhouse with pool in the town of Nadur. Hosted by Charlie and Thersea DeBono, the Tal-Bir is a charming and very well appointed property. The condition and presentation is excellent, and so clean and well equipped it would put many 5* hotels to shame. I had good communication with Charlie before arriving and he was happy to answer and elaborate on any questions and facilitate all of our needs and requests. The benefit of this communication was mutual as Charlie was eager to know who exactly he was renting to, and personally I found this reassuring and helped build trust and rapport. The property is self catering, but served by a small super market less than 200 meters away, and two bakeries who will deliver Fitra / Pizza's etc. The town is not touristy at all, and a great opportunity to mix in with the locals and eat / drink at 'locals' prices with a quality and value that will not fail to impress. Look out as well for the Wednesday market held around the town square - great value again.

The pool area has several loungers, a table / bench, a charcoal Bar-B-Q, and sun shade. The pool area picks up sun from around 10.30, reaching full sun around midday which lasts through to about 7 pm. Look out for the shy little sand lizards that sometimes peek their heads out, quite amusing to watch as they chase each other around. The pool (ranging from 1-2.5 m deep) is a welcome way to cool down, and warmed by a charming fountain system. The pool area has a separate outside shower and handy if rinsing wetsuits etc. The kitchen is seriously well equipped and contains everything you will ever need to facilitate your needs. The skylight area has a adjacent bathroom and a separate utility room with a washing machine which is so handy and allows the visitor to cut out half your travel weight in clothes. Situated on two upper floors, the bedrooms are air-conditioned, but also have ceiling and portable fans. We stayed on the top floor with the rear sun terrace which is great for private sunbathing (getting the sun for about 12 hours a day), 4 of the 5 bedrooms have an en-suite shower & toilet (towels supplied).

Within 7 minutes drive you can drive to San Blas or Dablet Qorrot Bay's that are unspoilt and visions of tranquillity. Otherwise there is nowhere on Gozo you can't drive to within 30 minutes. That said, the bus service is equally impressive and worth a look at if you'd prefer not to brave driving.

In summary, the Gozo people are proud, sincere, trustworthy, and virtuous. As such, when visiting do so with the respect they deserve. Clean as you go, respect others, and make the effort to engage and you'll find the Gozo experience one to remember and admire. A great escape from the rat race, and a perfect professionals retreat - and good value all round.

Many sincere thanks to Charlie & Theresa.

Room Tip: Top floor has the best views and is not over looked.
