“Disney trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We stayed here (3 adults and children aged 6 and 2) for 3 nights when we visited Disneyland, Paris. The rooms were comfortable but noisy, people outside walking past at all hours!!!! Most of the staff were very friendly but one or two were quite rude. Food in the self service restaurant was average

Chose this hotel due to its location next to the parks and entertainment precinct and its lower cost than the main Disney hotel but I expect there is much better value and service to be had elsewhere in the Marne-la-Vallee area.

Arrived at Disney Station about 10:00pm on a Wednesday evening and after dragging our suitcases from the train station and through the entertainment precinct were directed to our 3rd floor room with almost no interaction with staff. Tried to arrange some in-room dining but after trying the number numerous times I contacted reception who advised that there was only one person on duty for in-room dining (taking calls and delivering orders) and they would have them call me in due course which they eventually did. Unfortunately due to a power outage in the kitchen the only offering available was sandwiches! Fortunately there is a McDonald’s in the Disney village next to the hotel.

Our room had a nice outlook across the lake but the double glazed windows were virtually useless at stopping the noise that rises up from the smoking area outside reception– including at 2:00am one morning when a group of young men decided they should talk at the top of their drunken voices for an hour or so. Maybe the cheaper car park view rooms on the other side of the building would be better for a good nights sleep?

The rooms are well maintained but something of a step back in time – an old CRT TV with failing picture, tired wood grain furniture from the 90’s and an old fashioned key lock safe that won’t fit anything larger than your passports. Beds were firm but comfortable and bathroom okay.

Breakfast which is included in most packages is served in various areas depending on the day. Reception will circle the general area on the map provided at check-in. Our first day was in a gymnasium like conference room and the other occasion in one of the two restaurants in the hotel. Both were acceptable continental style with a few hot options but nothing special.

DO NOT stump up for the character breakfast conducted in the nearby Café Mickey – a complete waste of money with a very disappointing continental breakfast with no hot options. While the kids will enjoy the limited character visits (we had Goofy, Chip and Dale and a couple of minutes with Mickey) similar characters are also generally available between about 8:00 and 10:00am in the hotel foyer and of course in the parks although the waiting time for a ‘Princess’ meet and greet in the Park was 120 mins during our stay – no fast passes!

The hotel is well located at the edge of the entertainment precinct/village and less than 10 mins walk to the two park entries but you’re paying a high price for tired and very average accommodation and generally unhappy staff – hardly anyone smiles which for a Disney themed resort was incredibly disappointing.

We did receive a complimentary meal in the small diner (buffet) in the hotel after complaining about the service on our first night. The food and service was pretty good but that was probably our only positive experience during our 4 day stay.

Take away the Disney name and there isn’t much left here.

If you’re travelling to Disney from Paris via the RER be mindful that Gare de Lyon and the RER trains are not very friendly for those travelling with large suitcases or children and you travel through some interesting neighbourhoods on your way to leafy Marne-la-Vallee!

Myself, my husband and two daughters (aged 4 and 2) stayed in Hotel New York in Disneyland Paris from 16 to 19 October 2012.

Check in was fast and efficient and they made a real fuss of the children which was really appreciated after a long journey. We arrived early so weren't able to check into our room until 3pm so we got our park tickets from reception and headed to the parks leaving our luggage with the baggage clerks who were again very friendly and very efficient.

The location of the hotel is brilliant - only five minutes walk through Disney Village and you are at the entrance to the Parks. Although it took us longer the first time as the children were rushing here and there taking everything in and wanted to go to all the shops we walked past :-)

On returning to the hotel we had a little wait while someone checked that our room was ready for us and then we received the keys. We had a room on the 7th floor with a lakeside view. It had two double beds and coffee and tea making facilities with a table and chairs in the corner. I personally found the room itself spacious and imaculately clean. The only quibble I would have is the "cot" that was provided for my 2 year old. This had to be the most flimsy cot I have ever used. Being a travel cot it wasn't going to be brilliant but the mattress kept moving around on the bottom with no way to secure it and as my daughter moves a lot in her slept it kept creeping up and smacking her in the head. Also there was no way to keep the sheets on it as it was made from very slippery (I'm guessing waterproof) material which caused the sheets to just slide off. If I had been staying for longer than 3 nights then I would have complained about this but as it stood I ended up just taking my daughter into bed with me.

This is the first time I've stayed on site at Disneyland Paris and I would definitely stay at the New York again. Nothing is too much trouble for the cast members and they really go the extra mile to make sure the children are having a good time. We got to see characters every morning in the vestibule to the right of reception. The location can be beaten only by the Disneyland Hotel which is at the entrance to the park and is far more expensive than the New York. Breakfast is great and there is something for everyone, even myself who doesn't normally eat breakfast. One thing I would say is try to get to breakfast before 8am. We came out one morning and the queue for breakfast was huge, so we were definitely glad we were going out instead of coming in. I can't comment on the spa as we didn't use it, we spent all our time in the parks, watching the parades and taking in all Disney had to offer.

Thanks to all the cast members at Hotel New York. We had a wonderful stay and will hopefully be back again to see you all soon.

Having never been to any of the other disney paris hotels, i suppose i'm maybe not the best to comment on the new york but we found this hotel so dated, i know the theme is to be retro but it is in serious need of a makeover. Disney celebrated its 20th anniversary in paris this year and there was no doubt in my mind that the bathroom in our room was celebrating it aswell!! I know at disney the hotel is not really of the utmost importance so i would add we had the best holiday, but would have liked if the hotel lived up to the parks experience. I have given the hotel 3 stars because the location is great, only rivalled of course by that of the disneyland but i think i might pay the extra next time and just go there. We had drinks in the bar there (only slightly more expensive for their cocktails) and it was not nearly so dingy as the new york, as we even found the public areas there depressing (if thats possible at disney)!! Our room was so dark we couldn't even read the room service menu etc! I wouldn't say they were spotless either. One day we waited into the next to even have the main bin emptied.
My other main issue with hotel was although i only visited last week, the 15th Oct, which i wouldn't imagine would be one of the busiest times, the breakfast situation was a nightmare.
Never in my life have i paid in excess of 150 pounds a night for a hotel and been herded like animals in order to eat. Didn't matter what time we went for breakfast the queues were way down into the lobby, which made it so stressful and we found both restaurants equally dismal. Same menu of links sausages, overcooked bacon n scramble egg. After two days of this, we opted for eating out and just losing what we'd paid for the B&B rate.
Obviously never ate there at night as the situation seemed to be the same and we were just glad to head out of the horror situation. They really need another large restuarant to cope with the demands of the hotel.
In short, think if you are prepared for the various shortfalls of this hotel, it would be okay as a base for disney for a couple of nights but really don't expect much. It is far from 4 stars!!

We have tried all Disney-hotels and the New York hotel is one of our favourites. The hotel is normally more used by business-people which makes it more quit than the average other Disney hotels.

First of all, the hotel is expensive. All Disney-hotels are very pricey so you should keep in mind that you cannot simply put a Disney hotel against another hotel. This beïng said, the room-price in Disney's New York is high (going from 300 euro per night in low season to 600 euro per night in high season). For this price you get a standard room with breakfast.

The rooms are okay, they have warm colors and all modern comfort. However, the hotel is now 20 years old and you can see its age in all its facilities, meaning the rooms included. In the next years all the Disney-hotels will have a complete renocation, but till then you can still get an old room.

The breakfast is very good, offering a bucn of warm and cold international dishes. The a la carte-restaurant (manhattan) is excellent and offers very good food in an absolutely beautifull setting. The pool is nice and relaxing.

The hotel is next to Disney village and thus very close to the Disney parks. It is expensive but offers good Disney-quality.

Room Tip: Ask a lake view-room. The lake-view rooms are the first to be renovated.

Stayed 19-21st October, and check in was quick and simple the receptionist ws excellent told us everything we needed to know.

Hotel rooms, we had interconnecting rooms, one room with king size bed and other with two queen size beds. beds comfortable, rooms had everything you required apart from tea and coffee making machines. Bath/shower we thought were too deep and quite hard to get in and out. Plenty of towels, etc. Replenished soap, shampoo etc daily.

Hotel bar excellent with entertainment nightly until 111-11.30ish. Bottle of wine started at 17 euros.

We went half board plus whihc is a must, three choices of starters, mains and desserts but for extra 5 euros can upgrade to next menu. Could always find something on there also could east at other locations. We ate one night at newport bay yacht club but lots of children running around compared to New York hotel. Whereby in the manhatten resturant in New York hotel it was quieter with pianist!

All in all good hotel, great location literally 5 mins walk to theme parks which was a great as no queuing for buses.

We stayed here for a long weekend. The hotel was spotless and the staff couldn't do enough for you. There was a great bar in the hotel where they had a live singer and piano player both nights that we were there. The entertainment was very good and I could have quite happily sit and listen to the singer all nigh.

The rooms were spacious, well kept and spotlessly clean. There were good facilities in the room including a rather expensive mini bar. There was a Disney character at the hotel every morning to meet the kids and a children's play area in the main foyer.

The additional food and drinks were expensive (as you might expect) but the hotel was in walking distance from the Disney parks and village. The beds were very comfortable and I would definitely stay there again :)
