My family loved it. The staff was wonderful and the price was great. We were on the beach and the boys collected a lot of ocean stuff. The grounds were clean, playground, pool, restaurant all great. Thanks for a wonderful time, wish we could of stayed longer.

Room Tip: There are different sizes of occupancy so ask.

We use to stay here 15 years ago when are children were small, as other guests wrote, it was packed then. This time we stayed for a week in the the 3 bedroom cabin with our 3 children and their significant others and our 2 dogs. It easily accommodated all 8 of us and the 2 bathrooms were a blessing. It is a rustic woodsy interior but it is clean and well equipped. We were free to enjoy our stay without worry about dirty feet from our nightly walks on the beach and our wet swimsuits from the pool.
The campfire was stocked every night for us to use. The staff was available for every request.
We played road hockey and basketball in the courts and volleyball by the playground. Sat on our deck and enjoyed the breathtaking view and walked the beach every day.
We ate at the restaurant one evening and the meal was delicious.
Although I am sad to see that business has slowed, we were happy to have the place virtual to ourselves.
There are upgrades being done (painting, tree trimming, gardening).
I wanted a vacation to relax and enjoy myself. My dogs ( which are large) were welcomed and I was never concerned about them coming in wet from a swim at the beach.
It is not a 5 star resort for some, but for my family, who just wanted a place to enjoy being a family it was 5 stars.
A note to business travelers, the wifi does not extend that far. However I sat with my laptop by the pool and did all the business I needed to do. Also the manager received faxes for me so I could take care of some unexpected business !

In the past year I have stayed at 18 hotels, motels, b&bs and inns across Nova Scotia. Most have been quite good but Mountain Gap was disappointing, partly because it needs lots of upgrades - many of which won't be terribly expensive, but mostly because on a beautiful July weekend there were so few people there. I remember when the place was mostly full every summer. It should be again, because the property is almost unparalleled - beautiful views, lots of space, excellent location - it has the potential to attract every type of traveler to that wonderful part of NS.
Here's a suggestion: tell guests that you are working to update the facilities and that prices reflect the status of the units - less for unchanged and more for renovated units.

Dear Novasea,
We appreciate your feedback! I will keep your suggestions in mind moving forward. We are working on getting some of the more inexpensive upgrades done, and hopefully with the Yarmouth Ferry returning, more people will be coming to visit us again as well.
Thank you for your time, Tamara

We arrived at the Mountain Gap Inn after a long day spent whale watching. We were all tired and starving, and after we checked in, we headed for dinner at the restaurant. We all ordered either a burger or the pan fried haddock and everyone enjoyed their meal! The service was fast and friendly, and the food was hot and delicious! After dinner, we went back to our room to settle in. We stayed in the Bluff House, room 35, which is one of the original buildings from 1915. The kitchen and bathroom were well kitted out, and the room configuration was perfect for our group of 2 couples and one child - there were 2 queen beds and 1 single bed, with privacy for everyone. We had a private fire pit, with incredible views of the Annapolis Basin, and access to the tidal beach. This is definitely the type of place that we would have liked to spend several more days at, to take advantage of the swimming pool and walking trails, but we had to catch our ferry back to Saint John the next day. I would definitely stay here again, and next time we will bring rubber boots so that we can explore more of the tidal beach!

Enjoyed a wknd with my wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Grandson loved the campfire, although the wood was wet after a day of rain.
Ate at their restaurant, and we all enjoyed it.
Great view......... Close to Saint John ferry, and whale watching on Brier Island.

I am in the area traveling on business. There are not a lot of choices. The room is very musty, 2 queen beds that need updating, windows that won't stay open and not very good lighting. Thank goodness I always pack Fabreze. I think I can now tolerate two more nights. With some TLC this could be an amazing property. It just needs renovating. I would not recommend it.
