Everyone has their own expectations and has their own opinions in which they are entitled to, and here is ours.... when we first checked in we were given a small individual cottage over-looking the water, the view was beautiful but the cottage was small and needed some work, my fiance' had seen that I wasn't to impressed so he went to the office and spoke to Greta, (a lovely lady), who listened to his concerns and told him that she wanted us to be comfortable and satisfied, and proceeded to give him a new key to one of their many suites.
When he came back and said "come with me I have a surprise for you", I went, and let me tell you, I couldn't have been more pleased.... It was one of the honeymoon suites, which by the way was a few bucks more than the regular rooms, but Greta and John gave it to us for the same price since it was the beginning of the season. (they didn't have to do that)... but wanted to make sure our stay was memorable, these people are truly class acts, very accommodating .
The suite had such a warm country feeling, with the ocean view .... simply breathtaking, and of course I could not wait to jump into that huge (I mean HUGE) jetted hot tub bath, it was absolutely heaven... on our way back from seeing the Cabot Trail and other places, we stopped to stay our last night, back at the Mountain Gap Inn, and our same suite was waiting for us, for the same (very reasonable) price.
Anyone looking to stay here should go with this in mind, don't let the outside fool you, the new owners are working on the units and improving them, they are of great value, cozy, it is a quiet atmosphere, and the staff is very helpful, they will even call you a cab, call in pizza delivery for you, anything they can do to make your stay a enjoyable one~ they aim to please. If you expect a 5 star room, go pay $300.00 or more somewhere else, if you have a down to earth soul... and enjoy clean country / contemporary, this is the place for you. Please give it a try and enjoy yourself. Come back to write a review as we did to give these folks the credit they deserve.
So at this time it would be our pleasure to say Thank You to all of the staff at the Mountain Gap Inn, for those of you that we didn't get your names we apologize, but again Thank you Greta, John, Rachael, Tamara~ and I can't forget precious SAM (the dog)
Keep up the good work~
