“PLEASE TAKE NOTE.....DO NOT GO THERE...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

Entrance untidy. Building ancient and uninviting.Terrible surroundings....looking on to derelect concrete building. Rooms drab and basic. Ancient taps, pipes blocked 2/3 days so no hot water. Bathroom door would 'nt shut. No lock on balcony door. Staff have breakfast, used pool, same time as customers. Nice pool but crowded out by people NOT staying at hotel. Many steps so really unsuitable for older people.
The nick-name for the hotel is Faulty Towers, but it didn't even live up to that. Only way to survive the week was to have a huge sense of humour and eat out.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Arrived at The Toros late afternoon, it looked ok from the outside but we got one helluva shock when we got inside, there is no lift for starters so we had no choice but to use the stairs, lugged 2 heavy suitcases up 2 flights. Stair carpet was absolutely filthy and had never seen a hoover from the day it was put down.Swimming pool non existent, just green slime at the bottom and "things" living in it. Room very basic, bathroom a total disgrace, my husband had to unblock the shower drain cos it was full of hair and gunge.Their pet dog had a rat hidden in the outside furniture, full of maggots.Strange thing is, people go back year after year and some people had even tranferred from 3 star hotels because they preferred The Toros. The only good thing about it was we met some very nice people and we had a great holiday in the lovely turkish sunshine and I have to say that Ali the manager/owner is a .very nice man

The Toros Hotel is dirty and the staff were mainly ignorant or cocky teenagers, as for the manager he was more interested in entertaining his english mistress while we were there!! The rooms are very basic and the towels were stained. The lighting in the bathroom was 1 very dull bulb but maybe that wasn't a bad thing as there was mould all around the tiles. The pool area or should I say pond was unusable, there were small fly like things (pond skaters?) living in the water and the pads for the sun loungers were mouldy. The only requests we made were for extra pillows, which we didn't get and toilet paper which another guest had to give us out of there room as the teenager on reception that night couldn't find any lol

. I was in the UK on holiday from New Zealand and decided that Turkey was a place to have a break away so booked a last minute deal one day and flew out the next. Was unsure of just where i was going to end up but I needed not to have worried and I was not disappointed. 2 weeks with Ali and the crew and loved every minute of it. Sure it is not a first clas hotel but for friendliness and helpfulness and considereing it is a budget hotel it could not have been better. I just loved it and would return if the opporunity arises. I also met soem fantastic people and had a lot of laughs. Barbara Jamieson

Hotel has about 24 guest rooms, a small, bar/reception/dining area, some outdoor tables and chairs under cover, and a raised pool area, acessed by steps. Rooms are pretty much standard resort room layout, a bathroom just inside main door, twin or double bed and a small balcony, with or without a view, depending on floor and side of hotel. Hotel seemed to be mainly populated by guests travelling through north England based Tour operators.

Rooms are rather stale, although they probably have seen a lick of paint fairly recently, judging by the overpaint on pelments and the old fixtures. Bathrooms are functional but not luxurious, with old tiles and shower fixtures. My room was not cleaned all week, nor were sheets or towels replaced in that time.

Air conditioning is available, but there is an additional charge of £4 per day for its use, and old style safe deposit boxes are available at reception but again at an extra charge of £10for the week. Wifi is available free of charge to guests travelling with laptops, but no PC terminal is available at the hotel for guest use.

Rooms are accessed by a staircase at one end of the building, which has a very scruffy red astroturf floor covering, with sills covered with a thick lair of dust. Reception, bar, pool, and outdoor seating areas arehowever kept relatvely clean and tidy.

A basic turkish buffet breakfast is offered free of charge, consisting of boiled eggs, bread, sliced tomato, cucumber and cheese, with tea or coffee.

The bar area was kept clean, served a good range of drinks at compeditive prices. A small range of snacks and hot food are available all day, with occasional BBQ or turkish nights. A free Pool Table is available, which seems in good condition and of reasonable quality.

The hotel staff are all rather young, exept for the pool specialist, who calls in regularly to keep the waters clear.

The hotel hasd a very mixed age group of guests, which made the over loud, boom booom music on the patio a bit out of place. This music is of course popular with th male staff and their female guest companions,on into the very early hours, but I believe showed a little lack of consideration for the rest of the guests, who may of wished to have different music or failing any taste, at least quieter surroundings.

The hotel is a ten minute walk away from the main resort bars, clubs and shops, and beach, surrounded by other hotels and appartments and convenience shops.

All told, an adequate, non luxurious, resort hotel, with friendly staff, a good location within the resort and offering reasonable value.
