After a hellish 54 km cycle ride to Monestier de Clermont from Bourg d'Osains we arrived at the gates of the Chateau, what an entrance!
Once inside the 16th century building there was more wow factor in our bedroom, huge marble fireplace, oak beams.
After our ride it was great to have a nice shower to refresh, and both our rooms had en suite modern hot shower and basins, nothing medieval here.
Its a short walk into Monestier de Clermont for a beer in the bar, plus shops as well.
The evening meal was good wholesome food, with nice wine as well.
After a comfortable nights sleep, the breakfast was fine for cyclists.
My companion complained of the church bell sounding throughout the night, but I didn't hear it.
The place has a lot o character and atmosphere
Its just off one of the main motorways, the owner said a lot of guests were either heading south or back up north, and it was in a good place as a stopover
Our stay was all too brief, but I enjoyed it
