“An excellent hotel experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

We booked a night at this hotel after selecting it from a list given to us with a gift voucher for a gourmet dinner, bed and breakfast on the basis that it looked pleasant in the description, it was in an area we had not been to before and it was only an hour and a half from home.
To say we were not dissappointed would be an understatement, the hotel is small and discreet with an old-world charm, set in a parkland-like garden with ample parking and a children's play area.
We were welcomed and shown to our room by a friendly gentleman. The room was immaculate with an ensuite bathroom and sensible separate toilet.
We booked our dinner for 19.30 which was served on the terrace by the owners' daughter, Nadia who spoke several languages including French and English. We were a little embarassed by the level of personal attention she gave to us throughout the evening, but she still managed to attend to the needs of the other diners as well. The meal consisted of five courses, all of which were delightful and served at a leisurely pace which suited our mood. We finally left the terrace at 23.00 feeling pleasantly replete.
In the morning, breakfast was served by Nadia's mother who could not have been more pleasant. It was far more comprehensive than the typical continental breakfast with cereals, cheese and cold meats as well as croissants and coffee.
We left in the morning wishing that we were staying longer in this hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who enjoys personal service and a location away from the hurly-burly.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a main road but I think all rooms are at the rear, we noticed no noise even with the...

Turned up 'On-Spec' after a 400 mile motorbike ride up from Spain. Made most welcome and the Maitre D' made space in his garage for the bike. A small family run hotel, typically French. Simple room but clean and comfortable with good en-suite with a very welcome bath. Although the hotel is on the N21, the rooms are at the back hence quiet with no traffic noise. Excellent dinner, not much choice but delicious and unusual ( duck gizzard salad as a starter was superb). Good breakfast from 7am so perfect for the itinerant biker. Couldn't fault it.

We were a bit anxious because we knew from the address that this hotel is on the main N21 road, but other reviews said it was quiet enough. We arrived in a downpour and were greeted with quiet composure. Our room, thankfully, was at the back of the hotel, which is set back slightly from the road-but the N21 is no longer the major axis it was so it's not that busy. The room was nice enough, on the downside there were some minor flaws in the bathroom where tiles were missing and bath needs replacing because it's got a huge crack down it but it was VERY clean. Dinner was delicious and the owner was keen to ensure my dietary needs were met adapting courses. I was even given a special "amuse bouche" because I couldn't eat the pumpkin soup offered to everyone else. A nice touch which I appreciated. Another nice thing was that the half-board dinner menu has a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts and then an additional dish of the day for each course. He was alone in the restaurant and managed 21 covers over 8 tables admirably. We slept well, with the windows open only hearing a couple of lorries in the early hours. Breakfast was superb and the best we found in our 9 night tour. Choice of juice, choice of fruit including nectarines and strawberries, about 6 cereals and 5 breads plus croissants, yoghurt and soya yoghurt plus ham and cheese and six or seven jams and honeys. A toaster was available for you to make your own toast if you wanted. At 55€ per person per night half-board was great value for what you got. The owner was really pleasant in the morning, she chatted to all the guests and managed to wait breakfast and ensure guests could pay their bills on her own and efficiently. Would definitely go back again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back especially in summer because you'll want to sleep with the windows op...
