We booked a night at this hotel after selecting it from a list given to us with a gift voucher for a gourmet dinner, bed and breakfast on the basis that it looked pleasant in the description, it was in an area we had not been to before and it was only an hour and a half from home.
To say we were not dissappointed would be an understatement, the hotel is small and discreet with an old-world charm, set in a parkland-like garden with ample parking and a children's play area.
We were welcomed and shown to our room by a friendly gentleman. The room was immaculate with an ensuite bathroom and sensible separate toilet.
We booked our dinner for 19.30 which was served on the terrace by the owners' daughter, Nadia who spoke several languages including French and English. We were a little embarassed by the level of personal attention she gave to us throughout the evening, but she still managed to attend to the needs of the other diners as well. The meal consisted of five courses, all of which were delightful and served at a leisurely pace which suited our mood. We finally left the terrace at 23.00 feeling pleasantly replete.
In the morning, breakfast was served by Nadia's mother who could not have been more pleasant. It was far more comprehensive than the typical continental breakfast with cereals, cheese and cold meats as well as croissants and coffee.
We left in the morning wishing that we were staying longer in this hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who enjoys personal service and a location away from the hurly-burly.
