“Canned tuna on their salad”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Its ture. This is a Cute little cafe on the beach as many others have said. but the food is very overpriced , lacking freshness and therefore is less than decent food. Canned Tuna!? Come on. We are right on the ocean in Thailand. I would recommend you go elsewhere if you can.

Just went for the food. Good selection of Western and Thai food in an attractive beach front location. Comfortable seating and decent service. Gets busy though. Live music on Sunday evenings - arrive early or book.

What can I say! this has to be one of the best places we stayed whilst in Thailand on a budget! Room cost 1200bt. it was a little cabin with 2 floors. Seperate bedroom, living room with tv, dvd, bathroom, dining area. The bedroom was lovely and simple with cute origami towels and bright cusions.Living room was perfect with a small sofa, dvds are available from reception. Bathroom was a decent size but very basic.

Location was on the beach. Nice untouched part of the beach. Pure paradise. hammocks, deck chair, towels. Your choice to relax.

I would 100% recommend this beautiful resort. The staff are lovely, the 2 owners will help you with any questions you have.

Room Tip: We chose the cheapest room and it was amazing!

I stayed in the beach front bungalow which is right on the water. It is a great little room and the best of the lot. The room itself is nice and comfortable. Watch your head when you go into the bathroom as the doorway is not meant for anyone over 6 feet tall.

The rest of the "resort" is nice and the staff is very friendly. The ambiance is great but the cushions for their chairs etc. are rather dirty and wanting replacement. The food is not cheap but not exorbitant. I ate at the location twice and was happy with the food.

The area around the "resort" had 7'11, several bars and restaurants, an internet cafe that is very cheap and quick access to a local tour group that is great "100 Degrees East." It is not very close to the chaweng (Where most the shopping/party's are) and not very close to the fisherman's village. Make sure to rent a bike if you are there for a few days because taxi rides are not cheap and add up quickly. You can walk to the big Buddha in about 20 minutes.

The only real bad impression I got was due to some unfortunate circumstances. I arrived late to the "resort" after traveling all day. As I was unpacking I heard a dog growling loudly underneath the flooring. It was as if the dog was in the room. After exploring with the staff, going to 7'11 to buy batteries for a flashlight, we found several newborn puppies and a mom in a ditch dug underneath the bungalow. The staff had a nice idea of changing my room for the night because the noise was quite bothersome. I had a tour at 730 AM the next morning and would not be able to sleep with this going on all night. A staff member called the owner who stated that they wouldn't be switching my room because it was the "nicest" room they had and anything else would be a "disappointment" to me. So I was not allowed to change rooms. After spending an hour and half dealing with the discovery of the animals, I then had to endure a night full of baby puppies whining nonstop throughout the night and the mother growling at something that was obviously bothering them. I did not sleep much at all. I survived so no big deal and the staff had a animal rescue crew remove the animals the next morning. However, my main complaint is that the owner did not seem to care and only talked to me briefly about it. Basically I paid a good amount of money for no sleep, regardless of the great location. A little disappointment but life moves on.

Odd wildlife aside, not a bad place.

Happy People

Secret Garden is one of the most fun places I have stayed at during my entire Thailand trip!
The staff was friendly; the Sunday buffet was out of this world and the cocktails during happy hour was even better.
The Bungalows is a 30 sec walk to the beach and you can hear the water when you fall asleep at night.
The setting is idyllic and you have to pinch yourself sometimes to remind you that you are not dreaming.

Room Tip: Stay in the Bungalows they are the best!

A really nice location on the front, the beachside bungalow is well worth the money. Open the patio doors and the sea is right there in front of you.

The restaurant is very nice and serves some fantastic food both Thai and non-Thai for very reasonable prices.

The staff are also very friendly and 'happy hour' brings in a lot of the English expat. community, which was great for meeting new people.

All in all, what you see in the pictures is exactly what you'll get - Reccomended!

After reading the good reviews my girlfriend and i booked here for 3 days. When we arrived at The resort we're directly approached by The resortmanager "mr. Touch". Hè kindly attended us to one of The Bungalows. A very good start of our stay. The bungalow was amazing, seperate bedroom, kitchen, livingroom and bathroom. And this in just 10 meter from The beach. Which is perfectly clean and beautiful.
We liked it so much we immediately booked for another 3 days. One of the owners 'John' came to say hi in the evening and offered us a drink after closing time. Just very attentive.
We decided at first that we would eat outside of the resort, but the food was so good that we stayed in the resort. The kitchen was very diverse and very good especially regarding to the price. The cocktails on the other hand were a bit pricy, but for this they have happy hour.
Also very clean rooms and resort. The staff is brilliant and speaks very good English. We would definitely recommend this resort, like I said "paradise"!!
