“Good hotel and best staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

The resort provided good value for money. We had a spacious and clean room, that had just been renovated . The design is simple and classic Thai. The view when you arrive is not great with a big wall and small entrance. But once inside it is a different world. The is a fish pond wth some of the nicest fish, our son loved playing with them ..The staff were all very helpful and we felt very special our whole stay due to the treatment we received from the staff and also Jonathan and Mr Att at reception.. Breakfast is a very standard hotel breakfast ,but lots of it and we enjoyed it .The selection of dvds and books were also good.

Room Tip: we booked the two bedroom family villa, which is huge

This is our second stay at this wonderful resort and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. we stay in the beach villa's and it is wonderful to just look out over the ocean. Jonathon and the staff are just lovely, they are all helpful and courteous. We wouldn't even contemplate staying elsewhere, and we will be back next year.

The Saboey Resort is a peaceful place offering a relaxing and intimate vacation experience. The Ocean Room was steps from the beach, and the pool and the bar/dining area, and super quiet. Jon and the staff were really friendly, accomodating and helpful. The massage tables on the beach were relaxing. While the airport close location, and the proximity to the road for the building rooms created noise - you really didn't notice it much of the time by the beach. The departures for snorkeling trips nearby - made the beach really not desireable, but the pool was so nice, it really didn't matter. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Beach or Ocean rooms

The pictures are not accurate . They make it look like an idyllic resort . In fact it was in need of renovation . The bathrooms needed updating and better lighting . The furniture had been around the block a time or two . The breakfast was not good .. in fact inedible .. tho the dining room for dinner was good . I wanted to leave immediately but did not want the hassle for so short a stay

However the very Charming manager Jon , offered some good advice and good cheer .

That said , i did enjoy my time and it was clean and acceptable . This place was not bad ... but some tweaking could take it to super .

We would like to thank Joan for her review, but I do find it strange that I spoke to them in the mornings at breakfast and asked if everything with breakfast and the rooms were ok and received the answer everything was very good???
If there was a problem I find it strange that the guests did not inform me.
I meet our guests at breakfast to help solve any problems that may arise and our many 5 star reviews speak for themselves .
The points raised about the bathroom in the room they were in ,is partly correct, it is clean, but it has yet to be renovated, but was fully repainted less than 1 year ago.
As for the photos on our web site,90% have been made by myself in the last 5 months since we have our new web site. The others will be changes, as soon as possible, but our photos DO reflex our resort .

My wife and I stayed in this resort for a week this May. It is located in the northern part, a more quiet area, of Koh Samui. We were able to enjoy a quiet and leisurely environment during our stay because the resort had only around 20 rooms and villas, With the help and advice of the friendly staff there, we hired a car and toured happily around the island. The beach is just adjacent to the resort and submerge yourself in the pool to watch the sunset in the evening is a "must-do" there. Though there was only one restaurant in the resort, eating was not a problem because a large variety of restaurants were nearby. If we visit Koh Samui again, we will certainly stay in this resort.

Room Tip: We stay at Villa No.7 which was spacious and well-located.

First, we would like to thank Jon the GM for his personal and helpful tips. From warning us about taxi fare right down to advising a great way to get extra lbs for our luggage on our way home. His staff is friendly and went out of their way to serve us and make our trip that much more enjoyable. From calling to make reservations for tours or even just printing out our itinerary for our return trip. They reminded me what real service is like. The rooms are simple and spacious and the grounds are lovely with a feel of a tropical garden. This is the place to stay for personal and friendly service.

We booked 6 nights with Saboey resort for our family in a beach villa. When we got to the hotel, we were disappointed and left. The beach villa is right there on the beach, but, big but, your nice private beach is a parking lot for about 15 large boats, the sea is full of oil and the beach is littered and dirty. The grounds are not kept up and the whole place has a general swear smell and dirty feeling. After 14 hours of traveling with a two year old, we decided to go and look for a different place. We spoke to manager and to the receptionist regarding a refund for at least part of the nights ( we prepaid for 6 nights, 200$ a night) but the manager would nt refund any of our money. We ended up paying them everything and left to the buri rasa, where we paid the same price per night and got a whole different level of hotel.
I must ,entire that we ordered through agoda and they did everything in their power to help us with getting a refund, and although they did not succeed, they decided to reimburse us for half of our stay.

This guest arrived late at night and thought the resort was in Chaweng not Bophut ,

The guest was informed on arrival that evening was full moon party and there would be boats picking up guests along the whole beach of Bophut , but not directly in front of the resort..

When she was shown to the villa, she did not like the fact that there were FOUR speed boats in the water.(not 15).My staff informed her that the boats would all be gone in about 30 minutes, but she wanted to use this as an reason to get a full refund and move to Chaweng. She had already booked the resort in Chaweng while waiting at our reception, before she was shown to her villa

She told my staff that she wanted a full refund ,she was informed she had booked a NON refundable offer with Travel agent and she would have to contact them. she then became very impolite to my staff and said if she did not get a refund she would place a negative review about the resort. She was in the resort for less then 15 minutes and did not even go into the villa.

my staff and I try very hard to make every guests stay a special one and I find it very disappointing when a guest writes what is not a true representation of the resort, because the guests had made a mistake in the area of the island they had wanted to stay.
.
Our garden and beach are some of the best cared for in the area, and we post nearly every day photos of our beach and garden on our face book page
We also have many guest post on our face book page photos of the beach and Gardens they have taken themselves .
