We visited the resort from 28th December 2012 till 11th Jan 2013 and had a very enjoyable stay. I dont normally ever write reviews but felt this time that perhaps i should as i had read so many before i went i felt the need to sing the praises a little! i think some of the comments on here regarding this resort are a little unfair - but i guess its all down to personal taste and experience. We (2 female travellers) stayed in a delux room which was more than big enought for two people - we had 2 queen beds, bath, shower, toilet, terrace with day bed and table and chairs - perfect. i would say the only downside to the room was lack of storage space, but its not worth getting concerned about! we had a room on the ground floor at the end of the last block opposite the pool with the elephants - so a short (2min) walk to breakfast a 2 mon walk to the bar and beach and 1 min walk to the pool!! PERFECT!
The hotel is 5/10 minute walk from the fisherman villages which is basically 1 street lined with bars restaurants and shops which is wqell worth a couple of evening visits whilst you are there - great atmosphere, everyone is very friendly - just maybe a little pricier than the restaurants on the main road - but WELL WORTH IT. if your there long enough you might even have chance to try them all! the only one i wouldnt recommend if the place which is full of elephants! elephant orements, prints on the walls, elephant shaped candles all sorts! trouble is the food wasnt that great :-(
overall the place is great, the food is great and the hotel is great! - yes the beach has coarse sand - not as white and powdery as other place on the island - but i have to say having visited chewang beach Bo Phut is a damm site cleaner so if you dont want a constand party scene or if you are travelling with children, or if like us you just want some peace and quiet then this is the hotel for you! :-)
Did i mention breakfast.... cerel, yogurt, toast, cakes, pastries, bolied egg, fried egg, omlette, bacon, cheese, cooked meants, hasg browns, baked beans, tomates, mini roasted potatoes, thia style rice, curry(?!), french toast, pancakes, waffles, musli, fruit, and finally Banna Bread to die for!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh and the Staff - amazing! so helpful and lovely. We visited the spa a couple of time - it was lovely - nice for a treat but was a bit pricy......
