“Disappointed!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

On arrival our garden villa was not ready and we needed additional beds to be set up for our children. Reception staff were rude and left us for 20 minutes before we could check in, not even offering us a welcome drink! Other guests arrived who were given drinks, my husband had to ask if we could have a drink.
The villa was dated and was in need of a fresh coat of paint. For the star rating of the hotel, this was very disappointing. We literally only slept there and found ourselves wanting to be away from the villa. Other guests staying in the Royal Wing had worse accommodation than our villa.
The only positive was location as outside the hotel you can find numerous good local restaurants and close to Fishermans Village.
We will not be returning to Samui Palm.

Dear Lesley K
Thank you very much for your comment about your experience at Palm Beach Resort.
Kindly let me clarify a little...for our readers...

Arriving at the hotel with a booking for one villa for 2 adults and bringing the 3 children along may need some time to get the room ready for all... that additional cost may occur should be clear and staff has finally been responding the same way they were treated.

We did not get any negative comments from other guests during this period regarding their room as you mentioned and are wondering where this information is coming from.
We hope that you at least enjoyed your several meals at our restaurant if the room was such a disappointment...
We regret that you do not wish to stay with us in the future but still hope that you will visit Koh Samui again as this is a very nice Island for a family vacation.

We spent four nights at Palm Beach last week and had a wonderful time. The room and bathroom were large, but they need to watch the bathroom - starting to look a bit tired. Bath towels and sheets were changed every day and in the evening the beach towels were changed also. There are two pools, one by the beach and the other, very large, meandering through the resort. One reviewer said he was disappointed with the location. I guess he means that the resort isn't too close to Fisherman's Village. However, the setting itself is beautiful and quiet and a taxi into the Village is about £2 - I loved the location - quite stunning. When our four days were up we wished we had booked for longer.

We are going to Samui again next year and will have no hesitation whatsoever staying at Palm Beach again.

This place is great. We stayed with our five year old jock for 11 nights. Pool is cool and the accommodation lovely. Expect to pay around £100 a night for poolside villa. The staff here are the best and nicest we have met. The food and beverage manager Tien was a legend already on trip advisor however in reality he is the most amazing guy. He became a good friend during our stay and helped us arrange whatever we required. He even came with us on his day off when we hired a speedboat and went snorkelling for the day. He provided great child care advice!!!! And even drove us to the airport when we left. We will definitely be going back.
Tien you are the man!!!!!

After a very long holiday we decided to to fork out for an expensive resort expecting quite a lot. When we arrived the reception staff were very rude when we finally got to our room in was dirty and the doors did not lock so we had to get someone to come an fix it. The amount of dirt and bus in the room was utterly disgusting. We also had to pay for wifi in the room. I would not ever stay here again and would not suggest to anyone to stay here ever! Also do not use the hotel taxi or shuttles very very over priced

Stayed here July 9th to 21st. Booked through Thomas Cooks Flexi trips. Really excellent value for money..Room was large, pool view and breakfast buffet really good. Close enough to Fishermans village to walk but taxi back about £2. Restaurants outside hotel offered good value and tasty food. You do have to wait as everything is freshly cooked. Best was one called Faro, looks nothing from the outside but it is worth trying.
Hotel has some evening entertainment but we only did a couple of their events as we were out and about most evenings.
Also you can walk round to Mae Nam beach and the Thai massage at the beach is great

Room Tip: We opted for a hotel room instead of a Villa and I think it was a good decision.

We have stayed at this hotel for almost 2 weeks in June for our first year wedding anniversary.
We been looking at a few different hotels at the Bophut area and honestly have chosen this one because they had a really good discount rates compering price and quality.

First day on arrival we had a nice surprise from the hotel by making a nice welcoming cake and beautiful flowers lay out on top of our bed.

The best thing about this place is the area it's in (walking distance to "fisherman village" and nice sandy beach) and a super friendly and helpful stuff.

We would like to personally say big Thank you and hello to a "pool and Restaurant" manager Tien as you can see that he is trying to make everyone's stay as perfect as he can and always happy to help with any matter you may have.
Not all the stuff speaks a really good English but I did not find this a problems for my self.

The Hotel has a nice restaurant and a small bar with a good choice of cocktails and other beverages. Also special seafood and BBQ nights are very often.

The hotel has a really large area but it may be not a best side of it because if it's not enough guests to stay it looks quite empty and you can say not well maintained. As it has a 3 swimming pools but truly only the middle one is always in use. Also it's not a "brand new" hotel and you will see a Singh of edge here and there inside and outside the building/room.

But it was a small things to me in our great Samui stay. And we are definitely happy with the hotel we have chosen to stay for our holiday.
