My partner and I stayed here for six nights mid-September and the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were made to feel completely at home by ALL of the lovely, attentive and helpful staff who pride themselves on going out of their way to make your stay extra special.
We stayed in on of the 'Love' Suites (room 144) and couldn't have been happier with the room size, comfort and cleanliness. Although our in-room computer didn't want to cooperate with us, the free wifi access for our iPad and international calls were definitely appreciated!
The view from our room (and indeed from the whole hotel!) over Bophut was sensational.
We found that it was the little 'extra' things that the hotel as a whole did - the decorative fold of our bed sheet by the room service crew every morning, the thoughtfully presented (not to mention delicious) food at the restaurant, the complementary shuttle buses to Bophut and Chaweng, the hotel staff arranging tickets to local events for us, even the well-maintained scooters available for hire - that made our first trip to Koh Samui such a fantastic and memorable one!
We can't wait to come back here in the future and in the mean time, will be recommending it to all of our friends and family heading to Thailand.

Been here for a few days now out of our ten night stay. It is a brilliant hotel with fantastic views overlooking bophut. The staff are very attentive and go that extra mile to make your stay special. Had one evening meal in resort and it was delicious. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something special. We are well travelled staying in Marriott and radisson hotels. This is better... Could go on but dinner is calling!!

Room Tip: Don't be put off being out of town it's worth it

The Mantra resort is what makes your stay in Koh Samui so amazing! I can't stop thinking about how amazing the hospitality of the staff were - they really would do anything for you!!

We stayed 6 nights and would have loved to stay longer if we could. The staff at the resort really make this place special. We had lovely chats over breakfast and lunch with some of the staff.

The food is incredible- really loved breakfast...especially the scrambled eggs and coconut jam! YUM YUM YUM. Best I've had! On top of the buffet you get to order a specialized plate eg pancakes, egg Benedict. The coffee is fantastic-couldn't believe was getting free amazing capuccinos and iced coffees every day!

The pool has a break taking view. The facilities are all very clean and well taken care of. Free Shuttle bus services means you pay literally no money in taxis and are really comfortable.

The hotel is good for families, couples, friends- the lot.. I could give the hotel 10 star if I could!!! 5 star is not enough!

I especially liked the cocktail party and staff competition as well as Jump's cooking class. (PS I tried the curry back at home- and turned out really well!)

You will not regret staying at this hotel one bit! I would recommend it to anyone!!!!!!

WOW Ritlah, what a kind review, Thank you!

Reading how happy the newest members of the Mantra Family were when they stayed with us is an amazing feeling.
What I liked most about your review is that it showed that you took advantage of what we have to offer and enjoyed it! You learned to make a curry from Khun Jump, you 'judged' our cocktail competition and most importantly - tried the home made coconut jam:)
Our colleagues are really a funky and kind group and they really appreciate that we have Guests like you who value their personality!

Nothing is more fulfilling than contributing to our Guests experience! I am glad that you had a great time here and I am looking forward to welcoming you again! Robert

My partner and I stayed at the Mantra in early September for 1 week. We stayed in a LOVE room (no. 162) Although the hotel is not situated along the beachfront the location of the hotel is superb. The views from the whole resort are spectacular. We loved enjoying the view from the infinity pool and from our room. The hotel is spotless and the staff are all lovely. The rooms are amazing and so is the food. We took advantage of the hotels free shuttle buses to Chaweng and Fishermans Village on numerous occasions, great service. So many little touches from the staff made for a great holiday for us. We were big fans of the coconut jam at breakfast, we loved it so much that the staff in the restaurant gave us some to take home. This was our first time in Thailand and we hope to return to the Mantra some day. Thank you for making our holiday extra special!!

Room Tip: LOVE room. High floor - 162, 161, 152, 151, 142, 141 all amazing views!

We stayed for four nights of our 2 week holiday and had a great time here. There are some lovely touches - great coffee in the mornings, a library of movies and tv shows to choose from, great gym facilities, lovely design features and an absolutely breath taking view.

This would be a five star review, but I think some improvements can be made, such as a later bus service to the fishermans village, better breakfast options (all other hotels had bacon, potatoes, beans etc) and there can be a shortage of sun beds, especially with umbrellas and the rooftop option means you're not at the pool, bar, restaurant. I can forsee this being a problem for them as there literally isn't room for any more.

Dear Steve L,

Thank you very much for writing a review about Mantra!

I am glad that you had a great time with us!

I would also like to thank you for your comments regarding how we could be even better.
We provide 15 complimentary shuttles every day. When creating the schedule we have conducted an exhaustive survey about what time we should run these free shuttles. Our current schedule is a result of that. While I understand that it might not suit everyone equally well, this is what the majority prefers.
At the same time we have drivers on standby 24 hrs a day so we are always a phone call away from driving you back to Mantra - for a better (or equal depending on location) rates than what local taxis offer.
Our goal with our breakfast is to show our Guests everything that Thailand has to offer (local fruits, noodles prepared fresh to order etc) - and at the same time offer dishes that are favorites around the world and we can do at an exceptionally high level.
The poached eggs, sushi, pancakes etc were created to provide the familiar with creative twists -while using locally sourced ingredients.
We certainly offer bacon, they can be ordered with any egg dish as written on our menu - we prepare them fresh.
I will explore with our Chef, how we could provide fresh baked beans, because we feel that offering canned beans would not be in line with the quality of our other, freshly prepared dishes. Thank you for the suggestion!

I am looking forward to have you with us again to provide you with a new dose of amazing views:) Robert

Where do i start? We arrived at the Mantra on 24th August and had booked in for 8 nights. We stayed in one of the LOVE rooms (no.145) with the jacuzzi on the balcony. Everything about the resort was excellent. We were met at reception with a cool drink and cold face towel (ideal in the mid-day heat). the staff who greeted us could not have been friendlier and really made us feel welcome. The golf buggy up to the room was great fun and dont pay attention to reviews that complains about the "hill" as there is a small fleet of buggies ready to help guests up and down to/from reception.

The view from the room was spectacular! Everything inside was so clean and the walk-in rain shower was brilliant and the his and hers sinks. The tv/computer was great and the free international calls are a great idea if you needed to contact a bank to unlock a barred bank card (like i did). We especially liked the turn-down service on the night with 2 little lollies left on the bed for us (nice touch) Breakfast catered for every need, with a fantastic selection of everything from fruits and cereals to the fresh bread prepared daily and the great egg options. Top marks to the chefs! And to the waiters/waitresses who kept the coffees coming with a smile.
The resort provided so much to do:
A cocktail session (and competition) on saturday evening
A cooking class by the ever enthusiastic Chef Jump - who's Tom Kha Kai soup i have already tried to recreate at home, but failed to live up to his excellent presentation skills! (work in progress)
The yoga classes that we tried once and definitely put us thorough our paces!
The 15 min complementary massage.
We also made good use of the gym which is kitted out to a really high standard.
Around the pool in the mid morning we were often given little "shooters" to sample whilst admiring the view across the infinity pool overlooking the sea.
The shuttles to Bo Phut and Chaweng really cut back in the number of times a (costly) taxi was needed, and the frequency of these (luxury) buses was just right with a little bit of forward planning.
On a regular holiday we would usually like to spend the majority of our time on the beach, but when you are treat like royalty in a quality resort like this, priorities change.

All in all we liked our stay so much, when we had to leave to go to Koh Tao for 5 days, we actually booked back in to the Mantra for our final 3 nights. We were met with a big smile from the manager, Koong, who surprised us immensely with a free room upgrade to the COZY room! We didn't think it possible to get a better room than the LOVE room but the COZY actually took our breaths away. We genuinely didn't want to ever leave, as all the staff made the stay feel like a real home away from home. but sadly we did and we were chauffeured to the airport in style in the cool black 4x4. We have recommended this hotel to all our friends and family and we cannot wait to return "home" to the Mantra.
I'm sure there's more amazing things that I've missed off this review, but from the both of us we want to extend our thanks to all the staff who made our holiday the best one to date.
Chris & Ursula
