“Very nice hotel for couples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We came as a family of 4 and immediately realized that this is a place more for couples rather than family. The room is well designed with a shower room surrounded by glass, with only a little thread curtain for privacy. When one of us have a shower, we ended up having the other 3 out on the balcony. The balcony is big and one can sit out and relax.

We did enjoy the delicious breakfast. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Free wifi is most appreciated even though you have to log in every time you turn on your device. The infinity pool is beautiful. However, there were very few kids playing in the pool so any noise they made seem to disturb all the couples sitting around it. We became very conscious and tried our best to hush the children up a bit.

Bophut is relatively quiet which is nice. The beach in front of the hotel has a muddy bottom so it does not feel good stepping on it. Being close to Fisherman's Village is a big plus. Lots of good restaurants there. The Friday night market was fun.

We arrived at this resort from our transfer to a very friendly reception from Fon and staff and taken straight to our beachfront room which definitely had the WOW factor. The bath in the middle of our room was filled with rose petals and on our anniversary our bed was decorated with petals and swans which was done by Lek thank you and there was also a lovely cake and a congratulations message. The staff are the most friendly and helpful of people they made the pool side bar worth a visit everyday. The infinity pool is beautiful and there were plenty of loungers by the pool and on the beach. The resort is right next to Fisherman's Village which has a variety of restaurants some of which were disappointing. The breakfast at the resort is very good and catered for everybody's taste. Our whole experience was great with thanks to all the staff who even if we hadn't met them knew our names . Our whole experience was delightful great place and great staff Oom, Audy, Kaio, Lam, Mao, Pat, San, Kaiew and Keng to name a few . Many thanks to Samney (Front Office Manager) for a great stay where we hope to visit on our next anniversary

Room Tip: If travelling in peak season choose 2nd floor beachfront

We had a great break at this resort. the staff were so friendly, Sam and the girls in reception, Dean,Dom,and everyone at the pool bar, we had a brilliant time and nothing was too hard for them. We would not hesitate but to recommend a stay at this great hotel.
The location is fantastic, only ten minutes drive from the airport and right on the beach, and only 5 minutes walk into the Fishermans village.

As we arrived we were greeted very nicely, until we were escorted to our room. As the door opened a strong smell of damp hit me. The hotel staff offered us a burner like in the spa to keep on all the time, but it’s not a reasonable solution since we don’t want to feel constantly in a spa… we asked to get another room. after a while of confusion and a powerless receptionist they took us no another room… but there were two single beds and not one double as we booked. We refused to stay in this room and asked to get a proper one as we booked and without a horrible smell . after about 2 frustrating hours of confused staff the manager intervened and we got a room. Could not say that the smell there was fine, but it was much better than the first one. We were not even offered with the smallest compensation or apology after this inconvenience which is very inappropriate for a hotel that presents itself as 5 start and charges so much.

The additional things we did not like about the hotel:
- Beach was not clean at all. It we fool of cigarettes and other garbage. Usually in resorts like this one the beach is cleaned daily, but not here…
- Not enough sun beds at the pool area, it was always crowded and people were constantly looking for one
- Smoking is allowed in all public area
- Room we very dark and not lit well enough
- No mosquito nets

Still there were some positive points as we still tried to enjoy our stay:
- Food was very good. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best we had in Thailand. Lunch was great as well, but a bit overpriced.
- Happy hour that repeats itself several times during the day. Drinks prices were great as well.
- Location. It was a walking distance from fisherman village which offers good dining options. There is also a massage hut on the beach right in front of the hotel and laundry service as well in the village as well.
- Liked the infinity pool overlooking the sea.

Bottom line: we thought it was way overpriced, not a good value for money, would not stay again and would not recommend to any of my friends.

Room Tip: stay in another hotel

We stayed 3 nights in Hansar Samui Resort and enjoyed it very much. Located in Bophut, it is just a 10-minute drive from the airport and a stone's throw away from Fisherman's Village and the beach. The infinity pool was beautiful and we spent much of our time relaxing by the pool. Breakfast at the H Bistro was wonderful and we even chose to have our other meals there. The room was lovely with a comfy bed, a large open shower in the middle of the room and a balcony with a lovely view of the pool and beach. Writing this review makes me miss the place already! I had no regrets choosing Hansar Samui Resort and would stay here again if I return to Koh Samui.

Me and boyfriend stayed here for 6 nights after reading all the great reviews on Tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed!!

Very accommodating staff, we were allowed to check in almost immediately after a very early flight- and a much need ice cold fruit juice served up straight up as a welcome token.

We went for the basic room and it was great- spacious, modern, slick. Great TV and even better shower. Comfy balcony to relax in the evenings with massive day bed with stunning view.

Pool was just amazing, huge infinity pool. Plenty of sun loungers spaced around, and a dedicated beach space for the Hansar too. Friendly bar staff offering complimentary cold bottled water all day.

At half one, the sound of the cocktail shaker indicated the first of 3 happy hours which we always made the most of!! Strawberry Daiquiris kept us cool.

We loved the Hansar but what was really the cherry on top was its top notch location. While quiet and chilled out - it's Located at one end of fishermans village. A stones throw away from an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, shops, convenience stores, markets. Really made our stay on Ko Samui a relaxing and stress free holiday.

For dinner, H Bistro is a once off expensive place to eat but rivals the best restaurants I'd say in Europe. We chose to eat at cheaper options- namely the Hut, at the other end of fishermans village- keep waking to the end- you'll find it! Cafe 69 was closed for a month while we stayed here but is apparently the same standard- located right behind the Hansar too. Happy Elephant is a good option if your hungry and not willing to search too long for food!

One day we decided to do some snooping and walked the length of the entire beach have a peak at other hotels and concluded that Hansar is 100% the best option- although that bit pricier they make up for it!

This is one of the best places i have stayed at and am defiantly coming back to stay again. highly recommended for couples.... if your planning to stay there, ensure you fly in to samui and not take the boat as it’s much easier.

Fisherman’s village where the resort is located is the cleanest street in Thailand... very good rest, night hangouts and much more...

book this place with no hesitation...

tom yum martini at the bar is a must try... :)
