“Great place to stay in Bophut!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

Really enjoyed our stay at Hansar Samui. We stayed here for 3 nights in a Beach Front room.

Likes:
- Staff were very friendly and helpful
- Rooms are incredibly luxurious, spacious and very modern
- Balcony looked directly out to the beach
- Room service was delicious
- Buffet breakfast was one of the best during our stay!! Great variety of food and its important to note you can actually order pancakes/waffles etc which aren't put out on the buffet
- Pool was really good. Big and the rectangle shape meant you could swim laps (as many people did!). Ample number of pool lounges
- Fitness centre was the best of the trip. Great equipment and generous size!
- Great location. Walking distance to Fishermans village and markets, restaurants and shops

Dislikes:
- Transfer to other hotel in Chaweng which was organised through the resort was one of the scariest car rides of our trip. Driver was trying to overtake when cars were oncoming traffic was clearly too close.
- Smoking permitted around pool

I wanted to also comment on the dislikes of a few of the reviews.
- Bathroom: During our stay we had no issues with the bathroom setup however I do realise some would find the privacy, or lack of, an issue. There is a string curtain over the shower screen however you can still see through it, therefore I wouldn't recommend this accommodation for anyone other than couples or families with young children. The toilet has a door which you cannot see through and frosted glass on one side. On the other there is a wooden thatch style wall with 2 thin panes of glass either side and you can only see through these into the toilet from certain angles.
- "Street" between resort and beach: I would call this more of a walkway/laneway than a street. There was hardly any traffic along this during our stay and although people can see up into your balcony we rarely found people actually doing this.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hansar Samui. We have no hesitation recommending this resort to other couples and would definitely return here on our next Thailand holiday.

Room Tip: Beach front rooms are definitely worth the extra money.

I stayed there for 2 nights with my husband & a 6 years old son during Chinese New Year (Mid Feb 2013). I stayed in both types of rooms (XL & normal each night). If compared with Pimalai (5-stars beach resort as well) at Koh Lanta, I would say everything in Hansar was just ok only but kind of overpriced. Fortunately, the staff in Hansar who were nice, kind, friendly, helpful & attentive made Hansar at least more "allurring". Thanks to the most helpful Sam (front office) & the friendliest short hair slim lady who served us delicious breakfast (F&B). They really helped to make a difference (hospitality) during our stay.

Room Tip: If you can't climb up stairscase, please stay downstairs since there won't be any lifts avai...

Me and my wife have spent 8 wonderful nights in this great hotel. It was our honeymoon, so we received extra service (honeymoon cake at arrival, every night there was a rose and chocolate on our bed).
As I have seen Hansar was the best hotel in Bo Phut. The room 1207 was very nice, furnished with nature materials. We had a great seaview from the balcony as well as from our bed.
The infinity pool was just great as well as the ocean, both clean and excellent for swimming.
Breakfeast was delicious every day. We were surprised that we could order cappucino, latte or other types of cofee. Fruit and vegetable was fresh every day and had great taste.
Even if it was a little bit expensive I would definitelly recommend this hotel!

I agonized over which hotel to stay in on our week long trip to Samui. I read reviews, researched sites, compared amenities and so forth. I am thrilled to say we made the right choice! The beach does have rough sand, but it is also in a bay so the tides aren't as brutal or as treacherous as Chaweng. It is quiet and right at the end of the street to fisherman's village so there are lots of shops and good restaurants to walk to. The restaurant at the hotel had a limited menu so we walked to town to eat lunch/dinner. The property is extremely well laid out to take advantage of the views and privacy. There are families here, couples, young and old alike.
We drove the whole island and walked the beach at Chaweng looking at other properties and we are thrilled with our choice to stay here. High speed Internet works well, even to download movies. Only complaint is the spa was over priced and the restaurant was average.
Property, people, location, rooms were fabulous.

Room Tip: All the rooms have an amazing view.

When we came to Koh Samui in 2006, the Hansar didn't exist. We stayed nearby but, though we had a nice room, didn't have a front beach view. The other hotels seemed of lesser quality. So we were intrigued to see the "new" Hansar offering full frontbeach views and indeed it is built so that a majority of its room face the beach at Bo Put. We picked the highest room category to be closest to the shore and the view is impregnable and simply fabulours. If you're beach view fans too, pick room 3201, 3202 or 3203. The room design otherwise looks similar across categories. A large king-sized bed, a walk-in shower with a rain jet, a standalone bathtub and 2 wash basis. There is plenty of space and the decor is lovely. The mattress and sheets are wonderfully soft. On the terrace, the day bed is comfortable and we read and check emails with just the sound of the surf...
The hotel is done up in a modern yet Thai-ish way. A lot of open spaces. Our favorite is the "Chill Lounge", aptly named because it has beds on which you can while away the time with a drink and a good book. We went there every day during our stay and liked to finish the evening there. The pool area is large which is important as the hotel has many rooms. Its infinity design works particularly well as your eye has an unbroken view of the pool's water and then onto the water of the Gulf of Thailand - a really wonderful photo shot! The beach bar has happy hour 3 times a day and if you forget, they'll bring you your second drink for free anyway!
The Handar of course has a spa and its massage/treatment rooms are well appointed. My husband had a full-body massage and I a reflexology treatment and we find our therapists both competent and very friendly - a relaxing moment we could thoroughly enjoy!
On our last evening, we let the hotel's restaurant treat us to "Dining Under the Stars" whereby our table is laid directly on the beach and a pre-agreed menu served by a dedicated waiter. The Hansar's Chef has had good reviews from his "H-Bistro" and our meal certainly was very delicious.
If you want to be in Bo Put, the Hansar is a good choice. It offer better views than its neighbour the Anantara and is of a higher standing (but of course more expensive too) than the other hotels along that beach.
Enjoy!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

I have stayed in Hansar hotel 11 days in January this year with my husband and 4 -year old daughter and have nothing but excellent impressions about this resort. It's a perfect choice for families with children as it's situated on the most quiet part of the Samui (Bophut beact) with nice, clean beach and a very few and not pushy street vendors. Room was spacious and stylish decorated as we expected and we had a great, big balcony and a sea view as all the rooms in hotel. We had only a breakfast service since we ate lunch on a beach- there was a nice lady preparing papaya salads, chicken sticks, corn, crabs, etc, and another guy selling fresh fruits and shakes stoped by the beach every 20 min! Another great thing was that there were 4 ladies on the beach, 10 m from the hotel entrance offering great massages until 5 pm, so we didn't use Spa at all. 20 m from the hotel is so called "Fisherman village" - it has nothing to do with the name any more, but it's full of great Thai and international restaurants, small interestings shops and beauty parlours offering massage. On Fridays you can really enjoy there since a lot of street vendors gather there selling excellent food, home made coconut ice cream, deserts, with live music everywhere.
You can also rent a car or scooter and go to Lamai and Chaweng for a more hectic night life.
All in all we had a great time and we will be back next year!
