“Tropical paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

So we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng and we chose well! The staff here are very friendly, location is great as on a nice swimming beach and in very close proximity of other local restaurants and shops. There is a very wide breakfast selection at the buffet, the pool setting is tranquil and the rooms with their own pools are SUPER!! The gardens are in a great condition, hence you feel like you are in a tropical paradise.

We stayed at this hotel (2 families) in the second week of September and it was fabulous!

Hotel:
> The hotel surpassed any of our standards, definitely 5 star quality (compared to the 5 star hotel we stayed in Bangkok).
> The staff were INCREDIBLE. They are by far the politest people I have ever met, assisted us with two excursions, booked it for us and provided transport, made reservations at restaurants when we requested, gave us free garlands as my mum loved them and we ended up making friends with the manager as he is so friendly!
> The rooms were cleaned everyday, removing any sand we had brought in and provided us with mosquito repellents.
> The breakfast was very tasty, with full English, plenty of fruit, yoghurt, juices and different Thai picks everyday.
> The hotel's spa was out of this world, in a cave like setting next to the pool. The massages were to die for and definitely worth a try atleast once.
> The pool was extremely clean and enjoyable to swim in.
> It was mainly couples to begin with staying at the hotel, of all ages, definitely popular for a honeymoon spot. A few families arrived later on.

Location:
> The beach is slightly smaller in the area Choengmon. I would recommend it as it is extremely clean, the water was fairly shallow and the sand was beautiful. There were ladies massaging on the beach (for much cheaper than the hotel spa) and providing manicures etc.
> The hotel provides padded deck-chairs (we had the best hotel on this beach by far!!) and towels alongside beach bags with spares in case you forgot to bring one down.
> There are family marts everywhere for essential supplies.
> The Muang Samui Spa resort apparently was not as clean, and is located in Chaweng. This area is very noisy and busy, with all the nightlife and not ideal for a honeymoon/peaceful spot if that is what you are looking for.

Food:
> you MUST try the corn on the cob being cooked on the beach as it is apparently the best in the whole island.
> For restaurants, definitely try Garland down the road. It is super super cheap and has really good quality with pizza, pasta, thai food - anything! Also Spice Zone provides food on the beach which is also excellent quality.
> However, we visited Chaweng 4/7 nights for dinner. I would recommend:
1. Red Snapper - It has excellent steak and lamb, however ran out of duck much to our disappointment.
2. Samui Seafood - This has good sized portions with fresh seafood - best Thai food I tasted all holiday.

*Make sure you read the hotel flyer in your room, we paid for cabs to Chaweng and only realised at the end that there was a free shuttle service every day!

Overall an AMAZING trip and I would visit this beautiful hotel every year if I could.
The best hotel in Choengmon by far!

Room Tip: A family suite should be the same price as 2 separate terrace suite rooms. The pool suites are loc...

The moment you step in to Muang Samui you're continuously and pleasantly surprised. Be it the spacious rooms and bathrooms, beautiful pool and beach, or the pleasant staff. No matter how long you stay here, you will always want a day or two more.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for five nights to celebrate our recent engagement. The hotel shuttle bus which was supposed to pick us up from the airport was 35mins late. Upon arrival we were greeted by rather unfriendly and lethargic female receptionists. I appreciate that they don't speak English very well but their unenthusiastic attitude is very disappointing, especially in a hotel that charges this rate. And that attitude was pretty consistent throughout our stay, be it a request for a ride back to our Villa late at night (by the hotel golf carts) ,or request for a late check out at 2pm (which from my experience is a pretty simple arrangement for most hotels I've stayed in Asia), we were all greeted by either an unfriendly smile or a simple no. Service is usually the differentia for a high quality hotel and I must say this one definitely has a long way to go.

Perfect hotel with everything you need. We took the 2 bedroom villa with a pool to accommodate our family (2 adults & 2 children 5yrs & 9yrs). The rooms were enormous, each with their private bathroom. The pool was beautiful, private, and the perfect way to spend the afternoon after a day at the beach. The staff were all very helpful, honest, and cheerful. we were there for 5 days and didn't encounter any issues at all.

The hotel is perfectly located in a quieter area. There are a couple of groceries literally 25 feet from the hotel. As well as a pharmacy, and a large selection of restaurants to choose from.

The beach here is not rocky, beautiful warm sandy beach, with lots of activities available. A few massage shacks are available (can't beat a $10 beach massage). The water is nice and shallow for about 50 meters, which is fantastic when you have kids.

Breakfast was simple but had enough choices. Hotel also organized a few activities in the evening which were wonderful. The floating market held right outside the hotel was great especially with the live musicians. We also had the BBQ dinner at the hotel, which was really good.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you want a classy comfortable and relaxing family vacation.

Room Tip: Get the 2 bedroom villa with a pool on the 3rd floor.

We stayed here for a week before moving to another hotel for a week - we wished we stayed at Muang Samui for another week!

The Location: Choengmon beach is one of the nicest on Kho Samui - clean, quiet and pretty - and is good for swimming as it's not too shallow. We used the hotels kayak for some sightseeing. There are some convenience stores, places to get your washing done and massage places across the road.

The Room: was huge and 5 star, with two daybeds and a large balcony. The spa bath was divine with adequate room and comfort for two. The bathroom was almost as big as the room.
I enjoyed having lots of cupboard space to unpack our suitcases. The room was also very quiet and we didn't have any issues with noise. Housekeeping sprayed for mosquitos on turn down and we never had any issues with bugs as some others mentioned.

Dining: There are a few restaurants belonging to other resorts to choose from. We ate at Spice Zone and the other hotel restaurant at the front most days and nights simply because the food was brilliant. The food and drinks were quiet reasonably priced and the service was good. The restaurant at Sala Samui to the north is also worth visiting.
Breakfast buffet was good with lots of fruit, cooked eggs etc.
On saturdays they set up chairs on the beach and have live music so pick this as your night to dine at the Spice Zone.
My tip is to take advantage of happy hour which occurs a few times a day.

The Spa: I visited Rai Rai spa on a couple of occasions and the rooms were blissful with each room having its own waterfall. I had a massage, facial, scrub and body wrap. The facial was one of the nicest I'd have. It's a little pricey but keep an eye out for their specials.

Facilities: We used the infinity pool most days and there was always enough sunbeds by the pool and beach. There weren't many kids at the hotel which suited us.
We used the gym a couple of times which had minimal facilities but did the job.

The verdict: We can't wait to come back again!

The location is great and the beach in front of the hotel is fantastic.
All staff is not 5 but 10 stars. They are very helpful and friendly. I highlight Choke (restaurant manager) and his team members. Staff at breakfast, lunch, dinner and bars is excellent.
The less positive items are the noise of the A/C in the room and the TV channels. They have a lot of TV channels but all Thai!
I had lunch and dinner in the Hotel and the food is very good.
I do not remember her name but Guest Relations is also very nice.

Room Tip: They have rooms on the ground level, 1st and 2nd floor. I have stayed in a Terrace Suite in the firs...
