“Super Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

This hotel will offer you the chance to relax in beautiful peaceful surroundings. The rooms are in low rise buildings that offer a private balcony and spotless interior. The views from the gardens are superb. There is plenty of shade if you want it and lots of sunbeds. There are activities if you wish to join in. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food is good and there is lots of choice. My daughter recommended this hotel as a great place to chillout and I can certainly agree.

As a family with young kids we were happily by this beach resort
Rooms were modern nice and clean. Each bedroom had air conditioning.
It is a big resort but quite spread out. so there were enough swimming pools and sun beds around them such as we didn't have to fight every morning to find spaces
You have 2 beaches : 1 more for water sport and 1 more to have a peaceful rest while kids play
Staff was nice and helpful
Sport equipment was good
The main negative point for me was the food. On half board, there is only 1 buffet restaurant which is fully included (except drinks of courses) for bfast and dinners. you have 3 other restaurants on the resorts but you only get a 50% discount on your bill if you are on HB . However you will quickly realise prices on the menu are the double of what they should be( 1 scoop ice cream @5.5euro!!).
As a result you end up with 60euro bill for 2 adults and 2 kids, while you have already paid for The HB...annoying!
No wonder why these restaurants are empty ...
At lunchtime the options are very limited.
The animations (kids clubs, shows, entertainment. Etc) are mainly in German but everybody spoke English. For us the German aspect of this resort was not an issue.

For those who want to go out a bit, Kos city centre is 20min away by taxi(eur25)/or bus.

overall we really had a nice time, and will consider going back to this resort one day

We have chosen this location since we were looking for a comfortable getaway from the Germany "summer". Even if the weather turned out to be just a little warmer than in Germany, we were quite surprised by the hotel. The resort is really beautiful and invites to relaxing walks along the beach or just taking a rest in one of the sun loungers enjoying the charming view over the Aegean sea. Everything in this resort is well maintained, there is sufficient space for everyone which allows everyone to find a place with a little privacy. The food was outstanding! I have been to quite some 5 star hotels already, but this was just great! Big choice of everything - lots of fish and meat but also for me as vegetarian a changing variety of food. Buffet was refilled even 10 min before dinner time ended. Waiters and waitresses were friendly and thoughtful.
We stayed 1 week which is enough to relax and discover the island. Close to the hotel there is a super market where you can buy drinks and snacks cheaper than in the resort. Worth to have a look here. Also there is a bus stop nearby connecting the hotel to all major cities on the island.
We will probably not go to Kos again (since there is not so much to see) but if we would we would go to Neptune Hotel again!

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the upper floors of the building - these are more quiet.

We came here on our honeymoon knowing that this would be the largest hotel that we would be staying in, but we were not anticipating the enormity of the resort. It felt like a whole army platoon could fit and train on the property! The staff was bitter and not friendly throughout our stay. The hotel did have nice pools but the beach was not useable & the hotel is so far away from Kos Town that you must rent a car to get around. Would not recommend to any American looking for a place to tour around Kos. Also, it was strange to be at a hotel dominated by Germans.

Came to Kos and the Hotel Neptune with mixed feelings. Was part of a Medical education as baggage to my Dr. partner. The first that happened on arrival was that the busdrivers were on strike which really has nothing to do with the hotel. So we rented a car which turned out to be a great thing to do as you could easily get around on the Island which in some parts is really beautiful.
The hotel itself was a very pleasant surprise. They had just opened for the season so there were a lot of things going on setting it all up. The room was not big but adequate with a fridge and a kitchenette plus a balcony to relax on. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was kept very clean, in fact extraordinary clean. A number of swimmingpools were available plus an extraordinary great SPA.
In the main dining room, the breakfast buffet and the dinner buffet were sumptious with an extreme selection of dishes to chose from. The other restaurants were all up to par. The beach is quite narrow but with all the swimmingpools, who would need the beach.
As I am normally traveling worldwide the hotel was one of the better and cleanest hotels I have seen in a long time and I would definitely recommend it also for families as they also sport a waterland and playpark for children.
All in all a great experience.

Room Tip: There are a number of different types of rooms available and even if you are on a charter flight you...

If you want to relax in high quality facilities Neptune is the place on Kos.

Super clean, nice pools, directly at the beach and great food and service.

We had an upstairs beach-front room with sea views and could hear the waves at night.

We will come back if we return to Kos one day.

Room Tip: Try to get an upstairs room in one of the side buildings.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

During our search for vacation place in Greece, we were really puzzled about enourmous amount of bad reviews with respect to cleaness and hospitality of greek hotels. Therefore, we have selected this hotels as the reviewers have never complain about it.

So, we have stayed for two weeks in Neptun in July 2012, and I must admit it was far beyond the common standards. The hotel is managed by a German owner, who occupies a seafront deluxe appartment there. In private conversations, the hotel officers were complaining a bit that the management is very demanding, and the only reason they work here is a very good salary but as a result we have got - high quality service.

Our room was always kept clean and neat, as well as the four swimming pools on the premises. The food was really good and changing from day to day. There were no focus in either Greek or German cuisine, all types of cuisines were distributed quite evenly. Nice entertainment for kids with 3 small swimming pools and one mini aquapark. Our daughter was spending the whole days in the pools.

Animation team was really trying their best, I suppose, the only thing is that the evening shows were so ambitious in planning that the team could not keep up with the requirements. So at the end the shows were looking too much 'amatouristic'.

Literally, there was only one negative point in the whole story - people at the reception desk have never tried (even to pretend) to help us with our personal problem - poor room location. We have been given a room located on the atmost from the seaside corner of the hotel. Moreover, this room did not have a shed on the balcony (while most the other rooms had). So the first several days I was fighting with management for a better location, but the stubborn answer was always "No, we are fully booked". From my daily work related to hotels, I know that it is always possible to change a room within a course of a week, even if a hotel is fully booked.
So, we were really disappointed here.

As an advise, people at the reception desk mentioned that, next time we should just call the hotel prior to the arrival and let them know the room number that we prefer to have.

Room Tip: Set your preferred room number prior to arrival, later on it might be too late.
