“Great Value for money”

This hotel has another listing as Achilleas Beach Hotel on the Tripadvisor, which has more reviews than this. You can find my review there as well.

This hotel has another listing as 'Eurovillage Achilleas' on Tripadvisor, but both are the same.
This hotel provides 'all inclusive' package only, so you don't need to wear a wrist band or something. Everybody is equal.
Different travel agents have different rates by a few hudreds pounds even for the same package, so compare them well in advance.

[Hotel Location]
Only 15 minutes from the airport by car or coach.
20 minutes walk to the nearest town or village, and completely isolated from the surroundings.
Very quiet, with some noise from airplains, which is not annoying at all
[Hotel facility]
Very basic, kind of 3 star
1 x small gym
1 x play grounds for children
[Room]
Very basic. Mirror, shelves, closets, beds, desk and chair.
Beds are stiff as board. (I put a blanket underneath my body when sleeping)
Telephone, but no Internet LAN or WiFi. (There is a cafe where Internet is available)
Every room has a terrace with a table and chairs. Most of them with ocean view, a few with garden view. It depends on your budget and luck.
Bathroom has a bath tab with shower.
Only some soaps are provided in the bath room, so you need to bring your own tooth brush and paste, and shampoo and body soap if you need.
Sometimes hot water is not available, when you end up in getting cold (or not hot) shower.
You have to pay for air conditioning and safe.
[Pool]
1 x big rectangular pool
1 x small pool for children
Both cleaned regularly, no amusement pool
A lot of sunbeds around the pools
If you prefer, there is a huge water amusement park LIDO Waterpark near the hotel (you need to pay), with a free shuttle bus service from the hotel.
[Beach]
150m long private beach adjenct to the hotel with white sands
A lot of sunbeds, but you need to pay £1.50 per bed per day (*sunbeds around the pools are free)
A 10 minutes' walk alongside the beach to the north will bring you to a 500m long public beach with white sands. The north part of the public beach is very busy with tourists and restaurants, but the south side is relatively quiet.
[Meals]
One canteen-style restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food varies by day.
Breakfast: Continental + kind of English. Iceland quality.
Lunch: Buffet. 8 kinds of cold dishes (inclugin salads) and 8 of hot. Nothing special, but M&S quality.
Dinner: Exactly the same as lunch in style and quality, with different menu. M&S quality.
Desserts: quite a lot of kinds for both lunch and dinner, but artificially coloured jellies, pudings and ice creams of TESCO value quality, + some sugary sticky Greek treats. Useful to keep children silent.
*Attention* - Themed restaurant: There is another restaurant over the 'canteen' restaurant, opens for dinner only and serves themed dishes day by day (Mon&Fri: Greek, Tue:International, Wed: Fish, Thu&Sun: Italitan, Sat: Asian). You need to book a table a day before, of course everything is free or included in the all inclusive package there. Buffet style and same drinks as the 'canteen', but its food quality is as high as some restaurants in Covent Garden, London, may be worth £25 including drinks per meal. Most people don't know about the Themed Restaurant, and the same guests seem to appear every day. This is more spacious and quiet, and you can enjoy real 'dinner' there with an extra stunning view of sunset from its terrace seats.
[Drinks]
Soft drinks available during breakfast, + alcohol during lunch and dinner.
There is 'Main Bar' next to the pool, which is open from 17:00 til 25:00, serving soft drinks, beer, wines, liquors and some cocktails. After 23:00 you need to pay for drinks.
'Pool Bar' and 'Beach Bar' serve the same drinks as above from 10 am to 18:00.
[Ammusement]
Table tennis, billiards, basket ball, beach ball
Some ammusement activities every night, most of them done in German
[What to do during the stay]
Eat, sit, eat, sit, read, eat, drink, chat, drink and sleep
Daily shuttle bus service from the hotel to Kos village, which is a nice break and good for shopping
To get more of the island, hire a car, a bike or bicycles.

[Bad points]
1. There were some ants marching alongside the wall of the bath room as commented in some people's previous reviews. If you don't want see them, don't stay in a hotel in nature. Insect repellet will keep them away for a day.
2. There were some mosquitos (I went at the end of May, and found some of them. Surely a lot in the middle of summer!) Don't forget to bring insect repellet.
3. No hot water sometimes
4. Stiff beds
[Good points]
1. All the staff work hard, especially cleaners and waiting staff. If you have any complaint about the hotel, it's not their fault but rather the managing team's, so don't blame them!
2. I found two wild hedgehogs in the hotel yard at night. They are so cute, not aggressive at all.
3. Private beach with white sands.
4. Open view to the Mediterranean Sea. No islands or continent bloking your view beyond the ocean.
5. Astonishing sunset view
6. Nice weather
[Suitable for]
1. Families
2. Retired people
3. Youth looking for brief peace rather than usual chaos

Good resort, large complex, private beach towards back of hotel. Meals were constantly the same, snacks were good pizza, ice cream and beer on tap.
Good sized rooms. 20 euro in taxi to kardemena which we did every nite for nite life as not much on for 4 girls in mastichari.
Try a gyros in the middle of bar street, yummy!!
Good hol but now done wouldnt go again!!

This was our second visit to this hotel. It was a last minute cheapy and because we had enjoyed it so much last year we had already decided to go with the family in October 2012.
We don't normally return to places and have been to lots and lots of places but this one is Special
A large complex with two storey apartments but all inclusive throughout.
A very well run and spotless resort. Quiet if that's what you want---we did.
The Staff are exceptional. Katerina on reception was particularly helpful. Mandy the animation leader was bubbly and really made things go with a swing but had time to include everyone if that's what they wanted but knew when to take no for an answer. She got the balance just right.
Georgios the restaurant manager was friendly helpful and kept an eagle eye on cleanliness
and perfect sevice. The chef must be highly recommended. The food was absolutely Great!!!
Cleanliness in the rooms could not be faulted and the poolside bar was kept very clean and well stocked by the friendly staff as was the main bar area.
Don't know the managers name but he or she is to be highly recommended because the whole complex is run like a well oiled machine but with that exta personal touch.
Didn't want to come home and looking forward very much to our next visit.

We stayed here in May 2008 with two children we had a whale of a time the entertainment team worked well and were very friendly as well as the staff couldnt do enough for you. This is an international hotel so you will diff nationalities English, German, French etc we made friends with a few and had a laugh.

Food was buffett style all inclusive in the main restaurent and there was a themed restaurent upstairs which you could visit. The beach was only a few mins walk down the back path but was quite rocky and only a 10 minute or so walk to the little village where there was lovely tavernas and bars shops etc, we didnt really venture anywhere else as the kids were happy enough to stay put with kids club, free icecream and drinks etc.

Would reccomend and return

Firstly, I have to admit this review is about 3 years out of date as only just found a picture with hotel name on so bear that in mind.

I have to admit this hotel was a great place to stay. It has its own beach and rather a well laid out complex. We stayed closest to the beach in a small chalet and it was lovely. Gardens were kept immaculate, in face the whole place was spotless. Was lovely going to sleep listening to the sea and no other noise.

Do beware of mosquitos though. We got bitten to death leaving the windows open. Never been bitten as much as on this holiday.

The food was good for all inclusive and the breakfast was lovely. Everything was fresh and they are super efficient at getting you in and out without rushing you. DO NOT miss out on the upstairs (free) restaurant. You do have to book but atmosphere much better and you have balcony views over the sea too.

The outside bars are all modern and snacks available throughout the day from the bar far side of pool.

Opposite hotel you can rent quad bikes which trust me you need to do as the hotel is slighty remote. You can see so much of the island this way and they used to discount us as we hired quite a few times. If you visit 'Paradise Beach' as it's just beautiful with bubbles coming up from the seabed and crystal clear waters. Kos town centre also worth a visit and a lovely way to spend a day when your sick of sunbathing. If however your happy to sit by the pool then you will still have a great time.

Evenings not much going on really. There is a small town about 30 mins walk along the coast by the sea but nothing by hotel at all apart from the bike hire shop and a small supermarket selling various items. The entertainment is aimed mostly at children but still funny to watch.

All in all a great little resort. Ideal for people taking their children and like I say the food was ok. May have been a bit repetitive sometimes but at least edible!

Room Tip: Ask for new buildings for peace and quiet or old if you want to be right bedside the pool and bars.

It is true what Surrey_UKCarol said about getting what you pay for. We went to this hotel a few years ago after finding what we thought was an absolute bargain online. I read the reviews beforehand but decided to go with an open mind on this trip. The hotel literally is in the back of beyond but there was a reasonably priced shop just across from the main reception area if you need anything.

We always travel all inclusive and although the food was ok, it was very much the same day after day. There were always queues in the restaurant and the bar area was much too small to house all the guests in an evening. You could book for the themed restaurant if you wanted a change.

The pool area was clean and was busy but again, you needed to get out there early in a morning to make sure you bagged yourselves a sun lounger. The sun was scorchio so we made sure we weren't too far from some shade when it got too much.

The beach is quite nice and sandy but beware, our first day was spent on the beach but we got bit to death by ants on the sand! The hotel room was very basic (and you expect that in Greece), you had to pay deposits for the A/C remote and the TV remote but we got them back at the end of the week. Unfortunately mosquitos are rife there and it is suggested you use your plug-ins the moment you arrive and keep the windows and doors shut and the A/C on!!

Greece is renowned for having dodgy drains and we managed to flood the bathroom when having a shower! The water that was draining from the bath was coming back up in the floor drain!! We did report it and they sent a handiman to sort. We got used to it in the end and had to remember to use the bath plug whilst having a shower and then let it drain slowly. We were up on the top floor so we felt sorry for the guests below us!

And the best bit about the resort was...the amazing sea views from the rooms were incredible, We cosied up on the balcony for many a sunset. Well worth all the other little hassles. It's a shame really and we did have a good trip but I wanted to show my other half how nice Greece really was but it put him off a bit and he's not entirely convinced! Will attempt another place next time and see what happens!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view!
