Service: Outstanding, Dmitri and Ivan are awesome, they made our stay special!

Price: very competitive!

Accommodations: Solid, not too many frills but we lacked for nothing! The shower was pretty awesome too....Did I mention that our view from the HUGE deck was awesome?

We loved it!!

Room Tip: Ask them for a room with a view, We had #230 and it was great!

Very good hotel for the price. Rooms are new furnished, clean. View from rooms are not so good. If you rent a car, location is not bad, but in the village no entertainments. We rent a car and made a tour of the central and west Crete. Chania is a very beautiful city. It is worth to visit Chania, Rethimno, Palm beach. Matala is poor. There is good beach but very poor umbrellas and surroundings. We couldn't see Iraklion i Agios Nikolaos, because we were there only for 5 days and didn't have enough time. Overall the hotel is very good and the Island too.

Just wanted firstly to thank Jon Sinclair for the tip about room 230 it was indeed the best room in the hotel and we were lucky enough to be allocated it as well and thanks for the other reviews as it made our minds up to book in the first place. Weather was excellent for early May. So what can we add that's not been already said, well firstly I suppose the warm welcome we received from Dimitris and his brother and who run this amazing family hotel. we were the first guests of the season so it was very quiet which we loved and felt very special as they spoiled us rotten. Crete is indeed very hilly but would defo recommend this hotel if walking is a bit of a problem as it so near beach and tavern's. We loved Bali and all it has to offer and would go back as it is so peaceful and the Greek people are so charming and made us feel so welcome where ever we went. Once again well done to all at Bali Star who all work so hard to keep up such a high standard. Love Jane and Ged. English middle age couple. and "WE WILL BE BACK"

Stayed at the Bali Star for my honeymoon and had an amazing time, Demitris and the staff were amazing and treated us so well be it at the bar or when trying to arrange transport when the taxi strikes were on! We had so much fun there and can't wait to go back there. We stayed in room 230, which has a balcony and has amazing views overlooking the sea. Didn't have evening meals at the hotel but breakfast was excellent - it was a buffet mixing a wide variety of foods and am still trying to work of the excess weight put on munching into the pancakes covered in chocolate! Bali itself is lovely also and a great place to relax and have fun! Well worth going to.

We had a perfect stay at the Bali Star on last week in September 2011.
Facilities are excellent, decent size pool with safe shallow area for children.
Rooms are bright and clean, convieniently equipped with small fridge and kettle.
Enormous shower and frequent towel changes were appreciated as were lovely balcony views.
Cafe/Bar on the beach offered good choice of reasonably priced food.
Three other beaches and plenty of local tavernas within walking distance for variety.
Would love to return to this gem of a hotel.

We've stayed at BS for a week and our parents for two. This family managed boutique hotel was fully renovated in 2009-2010 (in green and olive pattern). And i can assure that this is the best 3* (i still did not understand why not 4*) hotel in Bali.
It is located almost on the beach (you can get there thru carob and olive trees garden). The hotel can offer BB and HB options. We were on HB with breakfast and dinner - good meal without a fad. I can say now that it were possible to take only BB option and to lunch or to have dinner at the nearest taverns (Psaropoula located on the cliff just left the beach is very impressive!).
The standart rooms are more or less the same - all with good amenities (electric kettle on request). All rooms on the second and third floors with balconies.
So if you will be proposed to visit Crete and to stay at Bali Star - don't think!
