“Relaxing resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Traveled to this resort to visit a friend working there. And on the front the hotel is very nice, clean and well presented.

On arriving at our room it was obvious that we had been put in "staff" accommodation, as we had traveled through the night we out up with it and got our heads down for an hour or so, we then went down and spoke to the reception who said that they were more than happy to move our rooms and for the inconvenience cause we would be upgraded to a premium suite, which matched the entrance and reception and the rest of the hotel.

The activities, food, i recommend a meal out on the balcony to really take in the views, a quick 15 minute walk got us into the local town of Roda taking in the stunning views along the coast walking along the beach.

The English speaking staff were also very friendly and helpful and smiling always asking how we were enjoying the holiday.

Also a day in the spa is a must to unwind completely.

The time that we went was not a busy part of the season but by the main pool and the private beach you get the usual people trying to save seats, but with the premium suites the private pools don't have this problem.

All in all it was a very nice resort and all problems were solved and I would love to visit again.

Stayed at this hotel in 08,09 and 10,same time of year October.Had a fantastic time. Unfortunately we couldn`t go last year so we were so looking forward to going this year.I`m sad to say the standards have really dropped. The food was terrible. We ate one night in the chinese restaurant and the waitress was rude and rushed us like she had somewhere better to be.The greek restaurant was nice, but on our last night myself and my daughter ordered chicken but they only had one left, not vary good.In the main restaurant when trays of food became empty they stayed empty. In the morning i would have a pine apple juice with my breakfast, they ran out of that,so i would have a apple juice, they ran out of that it was never replaced. For a 5 star hotel they did`nt have a huge selection of drinks and what they did have tasted like they had been watered down.
The good thing about this hotel is the staff.Andreas,Simona,Frank, and John lovely people, they work so hard and still cheerful at the end of the day.Mikos in the main restaurant,Elizebeth in ,the bar George at the pool bar and Costas in the internet cafe, lovely, lovely people.
the entertainment is vary poor, but to be fair it`s not the animations fault, they do their best with what they got and its obviously the Mitsis chain programme as we have seen the same entertainment all 4 times we have been here and once at Rinela beach in Crete.
However it is with sadness that unless it improves we won`t be returning, which is a shame because we love the people there and certainly love the layout of the hotel.

OK, I am aware that this hotel has many varying reviews (as do most hotels) which is usually a result of some people being too easy to please and others expecting luxury on a budget. As a result of this I am attempting to write a frank and honest review based on my experience of this hotel showing both the negatives and positives.

My husband and I stayed here in April 2012 and overall we had a wonderful holiday but this place does have some drawbacks so I will start with these.
1. We arrived the first wednesday of the Easter holidays to discover that the hotel had only opened the previous Sunday morning. As a result it was eerily quiet and the weather was overcast which did not leave a good impression. The site itself, however, seemed lovely and each day more and more guests arrived so that by the Friday there was alot more atmosphere. The weather also picked up which was lovely. I would recommend going at least a week or two after the hotel opens.
2. The animation team were great, they really took the time to get to know you and tried their very best to provide good entertainment. However, the evening entertainment is obviously not high up on the budget list as each night it seemed like they had thought of ways to provide entertainment without spending more than a tenner! We do not have children so can't really comment on the kids entertainment though there was a mini disco for children every evening where they learnt different dances and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. This didn't start till fairly late though (I think about 8 or 9 pm.)
3. I would not recommend the chinese restaurant at all. My husband and I are most definitely not fussy eaters but the menu was fairly limited and they didn't have many of the dishes available. The starters were lovely but the main tasted like I had ordered a plate of salt with a little bit of chinese food on the side. It was so bad that we couldn't physically eat more than a few mouthfuls before making our excuses and going to the main buffet restaurant.
4. There is very little to do in kiotari, it is essentially a bunch of hotels with a little shopping market in the middle. This was not a problem for us as we were just looking to relax for a week and the facilities on site were good enough that we barely left the complex.

Onto the positives of which there are many.
1. The food is very good for all inclusive. The main restaurant serves a variety of dishes and always cooks up fresh meat and fish on the grill which is nice and hot. The salads were lovely, and this from a woman who doesn't normally like salad. The breakfast was lovely with the most amazing omelettes cooked fresh to order with your choice of fillings. Also lovely pancakes and waffles cooked to order as well. I cannot recommend the taverna (great for lunch with sea views) and the greek restaurant highly enough. The taverna had excellent choice with freshly cooked meat fish and pizza. The greek restaurant had amazing lamb chops with the most amazing potato wedges and coleslaw I have ever tasted. I'd return to this hotel just to eat there! The waiting staff at the greek restaurant are fab as well, they enjoy engaging in conversation and playing card tricks with my husband. We ate here 3 times during the week and had a great experience every time.
2. We paid for a sea view room but were put in a sea view bungalow. I was a little concerned about this after reading reviews about the ants but we didn't see a single one the entire week we were there. Perhaps this was because we went so early in the season. The room was cool, clean and very spacious. The mini bar was a lovely added touch and the bathroom was fitted to a good standard, the shower especially was excellent.
3. The private beach was really nice and we spent most of our time here rather than the pool as it was quieter and never a problem getting sunbeds. There was regular entertainment such as volleyball and boules. The animation team may invite you to join in but they're not at all pushy like in some hotels.
4. The mini market on site had all the holiday essentials you may need as well as selling food and drink including some familiar english brands. All of which was very reasonably priced.
5. The had a good variety of drinks to choose from all of which tasted lovely. I don;t drink alcohol so can't comment on that but the soft drinks were lovely, particularly the hot ones. I drank copious amounts of hot chocolate and my husband enjoyed the tea so much that we spent the week pocketing extra tea bags to take home. I don't drink tea but he claims it's the best he's ever tasted!
6. The hotel is located close to Lindos and it is very easy to catch a bus there. We really enjoyed walking around the little shops and would recommend a visit. The buses don't run terribly regularly so do check times the day before you travel (you can get these from reception). Also make sure you go on a day other than Monday as the acropolis is closed that day!

Overall, this hotel was a bargain for the price we paid (£700 for two including flights and transfers) and is perfect for somebody looking to eat good food, have a few drinks and just relax. If you want a jam packed holiday sightseeing and visiting places of interest I would recommend you go elsewhere.

We decided on a little sunshine before winter, 3 adults in 2 rooms. The Mitsis Rodos Maris Resort &Spa in Rhodes looked good on Tripadvisor.
We arrived late in the pouring rain, lots of steps in the complex which are treacherous when wet. The dining room started to run out of food and there were few seats left in the bar area - after all the Mitsis Rodos Village across the road had closed its restaurant and 1250 people were eating in our hotel. The food did not improve during the week and if you did not arrive at the start of serving then there was little choice left. The food was cold, overcooked and with little variety. Queueing was compulsory. My husband spoke to the Catering Manager who after some time agreed to a special meal for us. Thankyou. The drinks were of a very poor standard too. The Greek Taverna was however very good.
We had 2 rooms facing the sea which were good until the sewage ststem pump just outside our rooms started up on a regular basis. The smell permeated everything and it was best to vacate the rooms till the smell went. We had thunder and lightning which threw off the electricity to several rooms throughout the complex. Our friend next door was in darkness, with no lights on inside or outside, and at 80 years of age, we found we could not leave her on her own all night in the dark. Our room was okay. After a phone call to reception we were told that it was a problem with the island and they could not do anything to help. Our friend slept on the child's bed in our room after I had shaken out the hundreds of ants from the bedcovers. Reception had been informed about the ants too. The floor cover drain in our bathroom was broken and dangerous but was not fixed while we were there and sinks did not have plugs, just holes down which rings could disappear. We mentioned this to Reception.
We normally go 5 star all inclusive on holiday and we expect less than our standard of 5 star in the UK but we found this experience just a little too basic. Perhaps 3 star! We were told by management that most people liked this hotel, perhaps when the numbers are not so great and the staff less harrassed or "Demob happy" or perhaps we expect a higher standard than others?

Stayed for 11 nights in October with two other couples and had an amazing time. The staff at this hotel are exceptional in all areas. The animation team were very involved with everybody and had a fantastic relationship with the guests, worked very hard to keep us entertained.
The hotel was spotless. Food was varied and there was always something to suit everyone. Thanks to all the staff for making our holiday so memorable.

Considering this was supposed to be a 5 star hotel I do not rate it very highly. The hotel itself was very nice and the rooms were comfortable and well appointed with a nice view of the sea. However having said that the entertainment was very poor.
The range of drinks was ok although most of the time there was a long queue which to me was very frustrating as there didnt seem as though there were enough bar staff to cope with all the guests.
Dining was again a queueing experience with more or less the same mixture of food on display from day to day. The hotel ran out of corn flakes about 3 days into our weeks holiday and they were never avaliable again for the rest of the holiday. Only once did they have bacon for breakfast in the whole week although there were fried eggs on the grill every morning for which there was a long queue !
All in all the hotel itself was very nice and the staff polite but for a 5 star rated hotel the food and entertainment left a lot to be desired.
