“Not 5star!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

Me and my boyfriend arrived just after midnight. There was no snacks available and room service was chargeable and massively overpriced! They had left a few cheese rolls out for us which had melted and gone slightly stale in the heat.

The minibar was refilled every other day and consisted of only 2beers and a few soft drinks.

The maid service was terrible. There were dirty footprints on the floor in our room when we arrived and not once did the floor get mopped in the week we stayed. The floor also did not get sweeped daily. It took 5days for the Maids to change our bedsheets. We had to request an earlier maid service as they were arriving after 4pm when we were returning to our room to shower.

The water at the hotel is not filtered so you will get a tummy upset! I was told it was filtered only to find after 1day this was not the case. All juices are from concentrate, Pepsi etc is from soda stream and lager contains water so unless you are willing to buy bottled water and alcohol from the supermarket, drinking their water cannot be avoided.

The restaurant served the same food everyday with the exception of the grill which meant one meat a day was varied. The grill consistantly offered overcooked meat and on many occassions u would queue for fresh grill and they would bring out a batch of here's some we made earlier from out back. The snack bars also served the same repetitive stuff. Me and my partner resorted to eating out at the end of our stay as we were so fed up of the food on offer. The tables were also rarely laid out ready for you so finding a table with cutlery and glasses was difficult.

There was never a waiter service around the hotel, if you wanted a drink you had to go to the bar and queue, even in the lobby or on the terrace.

The entertainment was terrible. It consisted of the usual water aerobics and dancing you find at every resort but in the afternoon the boys would promote the evening entertainment by dressing in full body leotards, stuffing their boxers with socks and then thrusting hips in people's faces! Needless to say we did not bother going to watch the show as this was held in a conference room which looked awful.

On our last day the hotel had removed, without warning, two thirds of the already lacking sunloungers and the outside eating from the restaurant. They had replaced these with large tables and chairs. The restaurant curtains were pulled closed for the day and it turned out that the hotel was holding a wedding for a relative of the hotels staff. So rather then supply the services guests had paid for, these services were revoked so a wedding could be held.

In no way was this hotel 5star....I would say 4 star at the absolute most.

I would not recommend this to anyone wanting nice varied and fresh meals and relaxation.

I just spent a week at Princess Andriana and was very impressed. The staff were helpful and the resort was beautiful, with great rooms and lots of activities available if you didn't want to stay by the pool the entire time. I was disappointed with the WiFi, which wasn't reliable and often disconnected us during the day, which is when you'd expect to use it the most. Also, while the beach was beautiful, it was pebbled so we opted for the pool to save our feet...!

The best part had to be the animation team - they were so friendly and energetic, and always took the time to chat in between the multiple activities they were organising (and rehearsing for). You could tell they really love their jobs - and they worked so hard! HUGE thanks to them for making a good stay great.

My husband and I had an amazing week in Princess Andriana. We had a Junior Suite with a Private Pool - a real treat and a fabulous room.
The food was excellent, great variety and fresh produce. We had a wonderful night in the A La Carte restaurant, and would definitely recommend popping up there for a few cocktails (although these are not included in the all inclusive they are very reasonable and well worth it)
The facilities including lots of little activities, water aerobics, yoga, crazy golf, table tennis gave us loads to do but also in the relaxing environment of the hotel
We have NOTHING to complain about and would definitely recommend and return. The only comment I would make is there is not a lot around the hotel if that is what you are after, but the bus links and trips are brilliant.

Room Tip: JUNIOR SUITE WITH PRIVATE POOL. If you ask for the ones near where the beach bar and exercise class...

I just returned from a week stay from this fabulous hotel. It was a girly holiday, and what a pleasant surprise it was. The hotel is absolutely stunning, very friendly staff, food was great but I have to say that the amazing animation team made our days by the pool! They created a great atmosphere during the day and when it came to evening entertainment they really pulled all the stops out. All in all I'm definitely returning and will recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
(just a little constructive criticism: WIFI could be improved and a cash machine would be very handy)

Just returned from 7 nights at Andriana and it was a great holiday. Staff were really amazing and helpful. A big shout-out to the animation team who worked incredibly hard and made sure everyone had a great time. Food and alcohol was great- beautiful pool. Only real issue was the WiFi which was dodgy at best. I'd expect better internet at a 5 star but other than that, I highly recommend it.

My girlfriend and I spent 9 nights at the Princess Andriana at the end of May/ Beginning of June. We both had a great time and thought the hotel was great, although we both felt that this was mainly due to having a Superior Suite with Private Pool.

We booked directly through the hotel and got a good price for 9 nights in the private pool room. When we arrived at around 11pm, we were checked in without a problem and taken to our room on a golf buggy by a very pleasant porter. We then enjoyed the rolls and cakes left for us. The room was excellent. Large in size with 2 TV's, large bathroom, 4 poster bed and the private pool.

In the morning when we went out to the pool it became apparent that it isn't that private. Yes, it is yours and nobody else can use it, but there are huge gaps between the rooms so it is almost like you are sitting with your neighbours. There are big ceramic pots with plants in but that doesn't really fill the gap. I don't see why they didn't simply continue with the partition right to the end? Not a huge issue but just very strange.

The main buffet restaurant in our opinion isn't as bad as some people on here make out. Yes, it is repetitive at times and yes, sometimes cold but on the whole it's not terrible by any means. One thing which made us both chuckle was the Italian night. Apart from some dry pasta and spaghetti decorations, we didn't really see what made it an Italian night? We assumed that the carvery area would be a fresh pizza station and the pasta counter would have a wider variety of pasta? This wasn't the case and unless we missed something, there was no difference to a normal nights food. Oh, there was a tiramisu on the dessert cart!! One thing to note is that a lot of the food is VERY VERY salty, especially the potatoes!!! Also the labelling wasn't always accurate. For example the soup one night was labelled as potato soup, so one would assume suitable for veggies? It wasn't potato soup and it had chunks of ham in!!

One huge negative from the buffet restaurant was the staff behind the carvery/pasta counter. One member in particular was more interested in looking at the women and discussing it with the others than cooking. He would also, on more than one occasion help himself to a chunk of meat with bare hands from the joint of meat being carved and when he thought nobody was looking, pop it in his mouth. It didn't really affect us directly but should this happen in a 5 star hotel?

We used both the snack bar and beach bar during our stay and enjoyed both. Food is available all day at beach bar and until midnight at snack bar. They both offer hot and cold food and fresh fruit. Also the ice creams are good during the day. Staff pleasant and the table staff work hard to keep everything tidy and clean.

We only used the main pool once as we had the private pool but on a whole we liked it. The pool is great, a good depth and always looks attractive to jump straight in. Yes, its cold but not bitterly cold like some pools can be.

One of our main issues about the hotel was the evenings. The main area in the evening was the lobby bar. There is seating outside overlooking the pool and the evening fountains show. There was also some live music most evenings as well. We just found it a bit strange though. Trying to talk to reception about anything in the evening was almost impossible because there were loads of people at the bar and also all the sofas in the lobby were full as most evenings were chilly or all the seating outside was taken. This meant the noise In the lobby was loud. One evening it rained and there was a saxophonist on that night and he was moved indoors. We looked over at reception and two staff were on the phone with their finger in the other ear trying to hear what the person on the phone was saying. We just felt that when in a 5 star hotel, we like to have a drink in a bar where there is some light music, dimmed lights and a bit of conversation. Not sat in the hotel lobby with bright lights and struggling to hear the other person.

Another big negative was from the evenings bar staff. On more than one occasion we saw the staff doing shots with guests. Again, didn't affect us in any way but a 5 start hotel?

The point which really got on our nerves was the fact there was no iron in the room!!! We had to call reception and request the iron. On two occasions it never came. Surely in a 5 star hotel there should be an iron in the room? Especially in a suite? On our second day at around 5pm we had a knock on the door and it was one of maids asking for the iron we had used the previous evening. I said it has already been taken and we didn't have it. She wasn't having any of it and literally barged passed me and stormed into our room to look for it. Luckily my girlfriend was decent and was sat on the bed. My girlfriend then said we haven't got it and she huffed and left. We actually found it quite amusing but looking back it wasn't really!!!

Most nights when we came back after dinner and drinks and the maids had been in with fresh towels, had a wipe around, emptied the bin etc which we though was excellent. It was just a small thing but something which we were really impressed with.

People on here have moaned about having to wear a wrist band during the stay. The hotel will say they need to do this to stop people from other hotels coming in and using facilities and eating and drinking? We were not given wrist bands when checking in and therefore didn't wear one for our whole stay. We were also never confronted about not having a wrist band either at any point. Maybe the hotel need to look at this as it seems silly to make people wear a wrist band but when guests don't, nothing is said anyway.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The title sums it up for us. A 4 star hotel in a 5 star shell. We have stayed in the Aquagrand hotel in Lindos twice before and there seriously is no comparison. BUT there is also no comparison in the price either. For what we paid for 9 nights All Inclusive in a suite with private pool, we would get 7 nights b&b in a standard room at the Aquagrand so this is all relative. The hotel gave us what we set out for. Relaxation, eating and drinking and a few laughs.

Room Tip: If going for a private pool suite, bare in mind that you loose the sun by 1pm and the terrace.

We had not planned to stay here but due to the Mitsis Rhodos Village Hotel messing us about (overbooking so they were going to move us elsewhere etc.) we ended up staying here. What a lovely modern, clean hotel with friendly staff. Room was smashing with a huge balcony overlooking the vast pool area. The only slight criticisms was that the food was not the best quality and the same choice every day at every food outlet, there were not enough loungers around the pool so we felt like a couple of wally's wandering around with our towels trying to find somewhere to sit, it was also a little slippery around the pool with wet feet which was a bit daft! To be honest I didn't really like Rhodes as an island that much and wouldn’t return but if you are visiting then this is a lovely hotel and highly recommended.
