“Great view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Had a wonderful week at these studios. Basic but what else do you need and get in Greece especially for the money. Our room (15) had a magnificent view over the bay and you didnt have to pay extra! Kettle and hairdryer a first in Greece. Would definitely go back. Only gripe is directed at Thomson about lack of information, being left on the main road and the driver telling you that the apartment was just up the road. It is a bit of a steep hill and carrying cases isnt easy and then when you reach the apartments you have to find the notice board to see what room you are in and then try and track it down. If you are dropped off after 7pm the pool bar is closed and you cant get air conditioning until the next morning (ac is a must in August). Towels only changed once in the week along with the bed linen - would have been better if towels changed a couple of times. Pool area is great and would highly recommend these apartments.

Room Tip: Room 10 - 15 face the sea - great view although on 2nd floor.

We booked the holiday not quite knowing what we'd get. There weren't many reviews for the Apartments on Trip Advisor at the time nor could I find any other information online.

When we arrived, my opinion hadn't changed as Thomson had decided it was a good idea to dump us in the middle of the main road at the bottom of the hill. The coach driver (because there was no rep on the coach) nodded up the hill and told us it was 'up there' in a vague kind of way which I thought was disgraceful.

We had to lug our luggage up the hill and carry it up a couple of flights of stairs to find our room.

From here, it's safe to say we had one of the best holiday's ever. The apartments were clean, the pool was excellent and the staff even better. The staff primarily consisted of Anna and Panos, the warmest and friendliest couple of people you could ever hope to meet. They went out of their way to help people all of the time (I witnessed Anna give away her personal possessions - such as Mosquito spray and ice cream - to residents without a second thought on a number of occassions). The apartments are good, they make the place even better.

Also, because the Apartments are built on a hill, the views are to die for.

The area we stayed in was also excellent, right off the main road and reasonably close to the beach. Couple of tips for people staying here:

1: The Stavros Taverna across the road is one of the best places to eat and drink around. Their cocktails are amazing and the owners/staff are kind and accomodating. The owner even came out to say goodbye to us whilst we were waiting for the transfer back to the airport.

2. Also across the way is a great ice cream place which cooks fresh waffles and has a chocolate kebab (basically white and milk chocolate on a spit) which is to die for and is reasonable priced too.

3. If you turn left out of the apartment and walk a ways, there's an excellent bakery which sells massive fresh doughnuts and croissants for 1 euro a piece. As well as a big loaf of sesame seed bread for 80 cents.

4. Don't book your trips with Thomsons. I found that the Thomson prices were sometimes 35-50% more expensive than if you were to book them locally. We did the Blue Lagoon trip and it was fantastic - we walked to the beach and talked to one of the guys Yannis (cool looking dude with long hair) and managed to get it for 25 Euro's each (Thomson were charging 46 Euro's each). There are also a number of shops on the main road which sell the excursions, which I'm sure are also much better priced. In addition to the price, we knew a couple who booked through Thomson's and the coach didn't bother stopping for them on 2 seperate occassions. Nice work.

There are a couple of drawbacks however:

1. Air Conditioning is not included in the price. You have to rent the air conditioning whilst you're there at 5 euro's a day (which for us added up to 55 euros). There is no mention of this anywhere when you're booking the holiday, so if you're on a tight budget this could seriously ruin your holiday as the air conditioning is vital in the blistering heat. I felt like I was ambushed with it if truth be told and this should be offered by the Holiday Maker from outset or including in the price of the room.

2. The staff leave at 7pm every night and there's no reception. It didn't happen to us, but if you lost your key or locked yourself out of your apartment after 7 you were basically screwed until 8am the next day. There's no contact information or anything should this happen.

We have just returned from a week in Corfu at Panorama Studios and we had to write a review. Well done Anna and Panos! We had a lovely time!

The apartments are basic but have everything you need and you won't spend long in the room anyway. The pool is lovely and is well kept by Panos. The bar is served by the lovely Anna! You must try her club sandwich and Greek Salad!

Moraitika is a small village but has a good choice of restaurants and bars. Try the Rose Garden and The Islands restaurants. The food is lovely and a 3 course meal for two with wine will not set you back more than €45.

Moraitika beach is a little shaley but the water is clear and warm when we were there. There are some bars on the water front that serve the beach. The beach did get a little busy, but if you walk a little further and turn left at the messoghi river, you will find a quieter beach in messonghi.

Take trips through the messonghi excursions group. (Turn right from apartments) They are competitively priced and will organise transfers for you if you need them. They are lovely friendly people. Book a trip to the Blue Lagoon it's lovely. They offer many trips that will suit anyone's interests.

The one thing you must be aware of is the hill going up to the apartment. It is quite steep and would not suit small children with pushchairs or elderly or disabled, unless you hired a car.

The Greek staff are very friendly wherever you go and especially Anna and Panos! A lovely place to visit.

We arrived at 2.30pm on a very hot afternoon and were directed towards the Panorama Studios by our coach driver it is based a few yards away from where we were dropped off. There is a gradual steep slope to the entrance and then a bit of a climb up some steps, but once you get there it is well worth it, just take your time!

We were allocated room 13 which is on the top floor and has a lovely view of the town and sea. The apartment has everything required for a self catering holiday, although we were short of knives but could have requested some if needed. We made do with the facilities in place. Surprisingly enough we had a kettle, which we weren't expecting but it was very welcome. The room is big enough for two adults and plenty of storage space. The bathroom is a good size and the shower cubicle is enclosed which is a big plus point and a hairdryer is provided. The balcony is a good size and has lovely views over the town and out to sea. Watching the sun come up is quite spectacular. We made use of the air conditioning and at 5 Euros a day is well worth it.

The pool is a good size and the pool bar is operated by Anna who offers excellent customer service, always with a smile. The pool area is very clean and open from 8am to 7pm and operated by Panos who is a very friendly chap and welcomed us when we arrived. We made use of the WIFI and it actually worked inside our studio too as well as poolside. Sunbeds surround the pool, but during our week they were taken up early in the morning, some people had to make use of the chairs by the pool bar. We did notice that some of the sunbeds are a little worn and could probably do with replacing for next season. This did not cause a problem.

The town has a vast array of shops, bars, restaurants. Prices are very reasonable. Mythos can be found at 2 Euros for half a litre - we enjoyed a visit to Nickolas', Buddies Bar and the Fast Food restaurant has an excellent variety of meals at very reasonable prices ie a large Gyros Pitta for 2.50 Euros was very filling and delicious - don't be put off by the name as the meals we saw being served were big portions for very little money. This would be exceptional value for families. Take time to visit the bakery, what a selection of bread, cakes, ice-cream, biscuits etc and yet again very reasonable prices and friendly staff.

The beach is not far away, we found a short cut alongside the bus shelter a little further on from the bakery on the opposite side of the road to the Co-Op. The beach is narrow but more sandy than we expected. There are some cafes/restaurants offering very reasonably priced drinks/meals.

We took the bus to Corfu Town - waited for the 7am bus at the bus stop by the studios which arrived at 7.25am., we noticed all the timetables say 7am wherever you catch the bus from! 2.20 Euros each way is a bargain. We caught a bus from Corfu Town to Agios Gordios for another 2.20 Euros each way to visit friends - this is a lovely trip and takes approx. 35 mins to the other side of the island. An exceptionally friendly village and our favourite sandy beach.

Mosquitoes were evident, so remember to take as much repellent as you can. Boots sun cream and after sun has repellent in it which is handy, plus take the usual sprays and plug-ins for the room.

Although the studios are near the road, the noise is limited and when the patio doors are closed there is no noise at all. From the pool side you wouldn't know there was a road nearby it is very quiet, probably due to the elevated position.

We would thoroughly recommend the Panorama Studios, we had a fabulous week. :)

Room Tip: Request a top floor studio and if number 13 is free go for it!

Just got back today from a wonderful stay at the Panorama Studio apartments in Moraitika. I would like to say ditto to all that's been said before by other reviews regarding the extraordinary friendliness shown by Anna, Panos and all the girls who tidied up behind us all every day. The apartments are set up a fairly sharp incline away from the buzz of the town but the hike up is more than worth it for the beautiful setting and views that you get from the rooms. The rooms are everything you would expect from a self catering hotel, kept very clean, more kitchen utensils and equipment than we've had in some apartments (we had pots, pans, frying pan, kettle and more than enough crockery and cutlery for two people). The rooms are serviced every day and towel/sheet changes are a regular occurrence.

Anna and Panos who are on hand every day from around 8.00 am simply couldn't be nicer. Anna sometimes put the wrong colour straw in our drinks but we were prepared to forgive this oversight!!!!! She was also a bit slow to mop our sweating brows when the temperature soared into the high 30s but again, we forgave her as she was fetching our ice creams at the time!!!

We can't say much about the surrounding area outwith Moraitika as we were complete sunbed potatoes and just lounged around the pool all week, although we did venture to the old village up the hill one evening - well worth the uphill walk - we ate at the Village Restaurant which was lovely and reasonably priced (very busy though!). The main village of Moraitika is well stocked with bars and restaurants and we tried several and didn't have a bad meal in any of them. Rose Garden (excellent pizzas), Fast Food (lovely sardines), Lava Grill (two meals there - very good)...........

I would just like to say again that the holiday was made very special because of Anna and Panos - thanks for everything and we hope we'll meet up again some time in the future. Keep in touch Anna!!!

I booked a last minute holiday to the panorama studios with my 10 yr old son and we couldn't have asked for a better week.
Our room was clean and tidy, there was a tv, however we didn't turn it on. The bathroom had a good shower and hairdryer and there were basic cooking amenities. Most importantly a kettle!

The whole building and pool area were spotless.
the pool is lovely.. And there were snacks and drinks available all day.
Anna and Panos are warm, welcoming and always on hand to answer questions. (Anna makes the tastiest Greek salad and hot dogs!)

The studios are set off the road up a hill then steps/slope. This was fine for us but I can imagine elderly people or parents with children in pushchairs might find this tiring.

We ate out every evening, Stavros was an excellent, reasonably priced taverna and just across the road. We had a lovely meal at The Rose Garden - although slightly more expensive it was well worth it.

The next village of Messonghi is a 20 min walk. Very pretty with some lovely bars and tavernas on the beach.
As mentioned in an earlier review we tried Captain Homers boat trip. This leaves from the messonghi river and was €20 each.(much cheaper than the Thomson trips) What a fantastic full day out. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

For a last minute get away we definitely fell on our feet and would return to the panorama studios.

Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Agree with the reviews - the place is clean, pool bar was open too, we had a good view from our room and at the time of our visit ..... was made even more memorable by Leo the Corfu Legend ... I'm telling yer now!! Those who were there at the same time will know who we are on about ... I'll never see a discarded chicken carcass without thinking "Should I wash it and put it back in the fridge for another meal" ....Same experience with the key in the door - we arrived at around 20:30 ...deserted nothing on the notice board and nothing in the blurb from Skytours so we scouted around the hotel finally noticing there was a single key in the door ...finders keepers and that was our room for the week. Yep a bit of an incline to the hotel but only about 50 yards from the main street. Plenty of local bars and places to eat and even more if you are prepared to walk for 20 minutes.

Room Tip: Best for couples - no facilities for families i.e. no supervision at the pool etc.
