“Nice holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

We stayed here in the last week of May 2014, together with our 2 teenagers. We have stayed at other 4-star all inclusive hotels in Greece before, but this is really the best of them. The hotel is situated directly at the sea. There is a sandy beach. 2-3 meters are stones but this is covered by a fine wodden path that leads you directly into the sea, which is likewise sandy.
All personel on the hotel are very serviceminded.
During the day you are invited to participate in different activities such as volleyball, activities in the pool and during the evening there is also activities (danicing, bingo evening etc.)
The only thing that you should be aware off, is that the hotel is far from any cities. So if you want to go to any one of the major cities you have to go by buss, taxi or rent a car (buss stop is very close to the hotel though).
We can only recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had one of the rooms with a view to the see and the pool, and we where very pleased with it

I have been to this hotel twice this season – in May with friends and then in early October with mother. If you are looking for a posh stay this is not the place you need. But if you want to feel like home (in its best meaning) HYDRAMIS is just the destination. This hotel is calm and comfy, far enough from the main tourist towns to get relaxed after the tumult of big cities but convenient enough to get to every place of interest in this part of Crete. The staff of the hotel is wonderful, all of them and especially the restaurant team. It’s also a pleasant thing that the owner of the hotel is always around, communicating with guests, he’s a very welcoming and friendly person. The rooms are your usual standard, not big, but clean as well as the beach. Will I recommend HYDRAMIS? Of course! Will I be back again? Definitely!

We stayed at this hotel with a large family group to attend a wedding which was held in Georgioupolis. The hotel does cater for the all inclusive crowd and if you don't know what that means it's for people who stay at the hotel and pay for all of their meals up front and do not leave. There are strict time frames where meals are served (all in the same venue every day, three meals a day) and if you feel like something outside of these times forget it. So you can be sitting enjoying the lovely pool area and all of a sudden all of the other guests will run off to the restaurant for the buffet lunch. There is a bar and cafe area near the pool where you can pay for lunch but only between limited times. Also they have lots of lovely areas and tables around the pool area but you are not allowed food at these. The staff practically chase you out of these areas and for some reason you need to sit far far away in one small isolated area and look at plastic walls rather than look out enjoying the water. There are no poolside snacks allowed. They really do have quite good facilities but for some reason they insist on enforcing strange rules for no particular reason. Oh there is a convenience store which is closed all afternoon from noon until around 6pm. This doesn't seem that convenient does it? It is the only place to buy water and snacks for your room so make sure you get there in the morning. So do yourself a favour and look for something better.

We stayed for four days to this wonderful hotel in Crete. We were surprised by the quality of the food and how well organized everything was. Very clean rooms, with sea view, with double bed and a very good breakfast. For sure we are going to visit again this hotel next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on 1 or 2 floor

First of all, if you want to be out and about and really experience Crete. DO NOT STAY HERE!
This resort is mostly for Russian families on holidays who come to eat a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner on precise times, swim at precise times and ‘have fun’ between the hours of 2pm-5pm.
No one talks to each other at this resort, the families all just stay amongst their own kind. The general vibe there is like a retirement village.
It really is in the middle of nowhere, when you step out there is nothing around but an empty gas station and a long dusty road.
The staff there really didn’t know what they were doing when it came to customer service. Most of the time their answer to questions was no and they would not try their best to look into other options to help you out. One example was how there was only 1 x iron for the entire resort.

You’re better off staying in Chania, where there is lots more to see and do within the town. There are heaps of resorts about 10mins outside of Chania which is a better area to stay then at the Hydramis Resort. Honestly felt like I was on a cruise ship in Russia and wanted to jump over board!

Pros: beautiful flowered building, excellent spacious room with a big balcony, enormous and comfy bed, sea nearby with no noisy attractions, perfect service in the restaurant, great food, multilingual friendly staff.
Cons: far from the main tourist attractions, linen/towels were not changed daily, so-so drinks.
Overall - almost perfect.

Loved the beach, very clean and comfortable. Many thanks to staff - Zeta, Lina, all guys, thanks a lot for good mood and tasty cocktails;) and also all the best for great young chef - food is really greek and tasty, without any economy on best quality products! Loved the hotel much! Though spent inside hotels almost only nights...) p.s. the luggage room idea is the best I've ever seen, better than usual hotel room)))
