“Beautiful...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014 via mobile

The place is beautifully set, overlooking the landscape, in a renovated village, with a nice pool. It could be perfect... What we missed, though, was the little extra of hospitability that makes you feel welcome: More forthcoming staff, information on nearby sites of interest and walks more accessible to guests (we discovered that there was more information available in the "office" only on the last day when we went in to settle our bill), having the menu for dinner displayed somewhere so that you know what to be looking forward to, better accessible deck chairs for the pool... These are all small things, but they would give a soul to this otherwise beautiful place...

The property its situated on a hill top and it's truly a stunning setting. I think it's an old farm, but the way it's buildings are placed around the hilltop it feels like it's a tiny village on itself with alleys and a little courtyard. The view is outstanding, though there's a main powerline overhead that you don't see in the pictures. We actually did hear the motorway, but it was only a distant hum and not bothersome. The pool is perfectly situated catching the evening sun as is the terrace cafe, furthermore there's a big field so perfectly suitable for kids to run around and play, plus there's goats and donkeys and kids love that. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean, big plus for that. And it gets better, the food is awesome. For once we tried the half-board option and were not disappointed. It's very easy to stick to pastas and pizzas when in Italy, I never quite understand how there little people can stow away antipasti, primi piatti, secundi piatti and dolci. Where do they put it? Here you get served all courses and it's a very good crash course in the enormous variety of Italian food, delicious. The first evening was better then the second, but hey tastes differ. We strongly recommend this place.

Uniquely located in the hills, the trip by car is exiting. Although on a map it seems closely located to the autostrada, you cannot hear or see the road from the location. A borgo, well restorated, with a very nice pool.

We had dinner at the same location (which should be indicated well on beforehand). The chef offers you really excellent food. The young girl was an excellent host, very polite, always smiling, loving her job. Not sure whether it is possible to reserve dinner if you are not a guest.

Actually it is our daughter who loved the pool and the flock of sheeps grazing nearby. Mind you we did not ask our dog whom roamed free and had so much fun with the cooks dog. The location is remote and 'pastoral' which suited us. And the food was good, the friendliness of our host and the staff impeccable and even better than some 5 star. Definitely worth stopping over and when possible more than one night.

Stayed 3 nights on recommendation from friends. Friendly, relaxing, good home-cooked food, nothing fancy and no choice, just good cooking. Enjoyed.

Rooms are plain and simple but fine.

Very rural location.

Didn't try the pool as the weather didn't allow, but it looked good.

Room Tip: Room D3 is directly beneath power lines between pylons but did have a view from the window and direc...

We always spend the night in Costa d'Orsola on our way to the Tuscan coast. It is very conveniently located off the main route between Parma and La Spezia and yet secluded enough, a ten minutes drive into the hills, to provide the peace and calm one wants to start a holiday.

The view from the garden terraces (including pool) is breathtaking, the rooms are very nice and the dinner is just fantastic. They serve a set menu consisting of 3-5 courses, all local products (and some even their own), freshly prepared. This is genuine Italian cooking with no frills but lots of pleasure! Looking forward to going back next summer!
