Mick and Sue are excellent hosts, they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door and Treacle, the adorable dog, greets you.
Then, when you smell the log fire and see the open bottle of wine, you know you are in for a stay that is out of the ordinary!
We stayed at the Chaff Barn for a family wedding that was taking place in the same village.
Mick offered to pick us up at the end of the celebrations, (at 1am ), if we wanted to have a drink and not drive our own car back. In the end we didn't need the lift but it was very kind of him to offer and we know from some of his entertaining anecdotes that he has done this for many other guests.
Peaceful, comfortable bedrooms, beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches and art throughout, some collected on their regular trips abroad.
So sorry we didn't really do justice to your most amazing and tasty breakfast Mick, we tried our best but there was so much, just thinking about it now makes me feel hungry!
This was a stay in a real home, Mick and Sue know how to spoil their guests and we hope to stay with them again one day. ( we want a good excuse to use the 'Basil Bell'....).
If you want to know what I'm talking about, go and visit.
