Lake Country Museum is not big but within the walls of the old schoolhouse the collection contains a wealth of local history. Not only in it's archives and exhibits which are all being documented and preserved in a digital collection too but also with it's knowledgeable staff many of who volunteer their time and skills to lovingly to distill and share this information.
The website is regularly maintained you can currently see 'local history facts of the day .." on http://www.lakecountrymuseum.com/ and also on their facebook page.
A fascinating insight to the history of the area through First Nations, early settlers, land, agriculture and Community through the ages.
Situated right by the Lake you can complete your day out with a waterside stroll plus treat yourself to an excellent coffee and cake at the adjoining Patio Cafe. If you have children with you there is a green park area and swings too.
