“Salmon Whales Massages Feather Beds & Fine Dining: my idea of fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

We just returned from our 5th visit to Eagle Nook and had such a great experience that I decided that I needed to write a review. Both this year & last year our visit began with sitings of gray whales and humpbacks on our skiff ride to the lodge. Last year 3 grays surrounded our boat & the driver was very cool with staying as long as we liked to watch them; they were 10 feet away! It was late July & we fished for 2 days & caught our limit of King & Coho. Barkley Sound was full of humpbacks, which was a thrill to watch. This year we hit the jackpot. We brought another couple & the fellows rode out to the south shole & limited in King, Coho & Halibut (though the halibut was small), and we saw a humpback & her calf breach not even 100 years from our skiff - check out my photo! My girlfriend & I hiked the trails that were filled with moss-covered trees & patrolled by eagles, and Eagle Nook provided the bear spray, which we, thankfully, didn't need! We hiked to a pristine beach where anyone could feel comfortable sun bathing - nude or not. Afterwards we treated ourselves to massages & facials...it just doesn't get any better! They also offered kyaking & paddle boarding, but we were feeling a bit too lazy...& preferred to enjoy the Canadian beer & a little R & R instead. There is wi-fi, movies & games, including a pool table, but I recommend disconnecting instead; sit back & let Eagle Nook take care of you.

Dinner is always superb, and the outside fire-pit & hot tub are ready to go. And, if you want, the chef will prepare the salmon you caught for dinner that very same day! This is a great lodge for fishing, but the real insider's secret is that it is romantic, rustic and a fantastic get-away for couples too. We have travelled to Eagle Nook 3 ways; you can fly in (expensive), take the ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo & drive (2 hrs?), or drive up from Victoria (4 to 5 hours w/stops).

Room Tip: The cabins are romantic & rustic for two. Not fancy, but cute & super-clean. The rooms are l...

Eagle Nook was a fantastic place for a company fishing trip. We have tried several different options over the years and and finally found the perfect fit. Spectacular property, well appointed and very comfortable logde with great meals and a wonderful professional staff. The fishing guides are top notch fisherman, boat handlers, guides and friends that make you feel welcome in their group.

This resort is set in a breathtaking cove. Natural beauty surrounds the lodge. There are so many activities its hard to choose. Fishing, kayaking, ecotour, hiking, or just staring out at the mountains and sea. Wildlife is everywhere! Sea lions, whales, eagles, bears and seals! The food is five star. A menu to choose from that has variety to amaze everyone. For those not wanting to wander out the spa is a relaxing alternative. (I loved the aromatherapy massage). And there are places to curl up and read your book. We had a happy hour outside by the fire pit. Fresh oysters on the grill! This was our first visit and we really need to go back. Just not enough time to doit all! As others have said the staff is gracious, attentive and professional. Eagle Nook did not miss a beat.

Eagle Nook staff and "can do" attitude is top flight. They will do anything to make your stay memorable. 5am lattes to 5pm cocktails, with great fishing and eagle watching in between. The food was outstanding; I asked the chef to cook the salmon that I had just caught. It was on the menu for our table that night. Loved every experience. Thanks for a great vacation!

If you love the outdoors, like to catch salmon, enjoy being on a boat, marvel at whales sounding in the distance and an eagle presiding over the lodge this is the place for you. The staff is exceptional and soon feel like family, the food is tasty, well prepared and nicely presented, the accommodations are warm and inviting. Your fish will be vacuum packed and frozen immediately upon being offloaded from the guide boat. Guides are experienced, know how to find fish and are friendly. A wonderful experience.

I normally dont write reviews or do surveys but I would be remiss if I didnt mention EAGLE NOOK RESORT.I have stayed and fished at many BC resorts over 55 years and have always enjoyed them but my three day stay at EAGLE NOOK was the best. You can see by the pictures that the place is beautiful but I was so impresssed with the staff. The people are the best and as
nice and caring as you could find anywhere. They made a great trip even better

How many vacation spots has one been where the service is so perfect that one remembers all the names of the staff? Thanks to manager Glenn, guide Ky, then Ashley,Nikki,Ericka,Martha, and Rachel. My son and I stayed for two days of fishing, caught salmon and halibut, the salmon was prepared fresh for us that night while we dined, overlooking the Pacific while sipping fine wine. Kayaking, canoeing, hiking, eagle watching, whale watching, sleeping under the canopy of God's glorious creation, my what an experience. If I had to nitpick, it is tough to get there and the room furniture could use updating. But all in all well worth the price and the time. We will be life time customers. Thanks Eagle Nook!

Room Tip: Since both sides of the lodge face water, one can't go wrong.
