The fish and chips at the Riverside Takeout are simply outstanding. Fresh whitefish, lightly breaded (not buried in heavy batter - this is much more a traditional "shore lunch" style of presentation than English style fish and chips) and fried to golden perfection. Fresh cut fries in abundance, golden and perfectly fried as well. A sour dill pickle wedge...a perfect accompaniment to the fried fare. Lemon wedge. Packaged tartar sauce available. (I never use the stuff)
Open seasonally, May to October long weekends. Seating is limited to picnic tables and small tables beneath gazebos for protection from rain. I usually take mine and head down the hill to the village of Kagawong's waterfront, and park by the boat launch, for a great view of Lake Huron's North Channel.
