“Our Favorite Place On Earth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

We've been travelling to the Cook Islands since 1999 and it is, without a doubt, our most favorite place on earth..... and I attribute 99.99% of that to the Pacific Resort and the folks at the Pacific Resort!

We just returned from our 5th visit to Rarotonga and the Pacific Resort and it feels like we've just been to our home away from home.

Why do we love the Cook Islands and the Pacific Resort so much? Because every time we go we are constantly blown away by how nice everyone is and how great it is to be in a place where you can: moped around an island and feel like you're riding a bike as if you were a kid again, drink awesome wines from New Zealand and Australia and pay less than you would in the US, enjoy the clearest water anywhere in the world and still be on the US side of the dateline so that you're not losing a day by travelling there (if only Air New Zeland would offer better flight options to the Cook Islands out of LAX than just a Sunday night departure with a Saturday night return...what happened to the Friday night departure???...come on Air New Zealand...are you doing this flight for the customer or only because you have to???).

We LOVE the Cook Islands, the Cook Islands people and our Pacific Resort! It's truly the best and our favorite place on earth!

Room Tip: Always go for the ocean front suite 2nd floor rooms!

Recently my wife and and I, our adult children and grandchildren - total of 9 spend a wonderful week at Pacific Resort/Te manava Villas in beautiful Rarotonga.
The weather was amazing and we were blown away with the beauty of this wonderful place.
This was a special holiday for us. My wife had recently turned 50 but was unable to celebrate as she was caring for her sick mum. So this was a well deserved break away.
Our daughter, partrner and 4 children had a lagoon villa which was great. Awesome location, spacious and had everything they needed.
My wife and I and adult son had a 2 bedroom standard room. It was adequate as we pretty much based ourselves at our daughters lagoon villa so only really showered and slept there.
The last two nights we were upgraded to Te Manava. This is possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever done for us! It was a place that dreams are made of . Own swimming pool and luxury plus plus! Elaine was at the front desk and took care of our every need!
The breakfast at Pacific Resort was great and also the dinner we had delivered!
Our grandchildren absolutely loved the kids club. The guys were amazing and made their holiday. Loved the kyaking, paddle boarding and the great location right on muri beach!
Thank you for spoiling us and helping us to create amazing memories for life.

We went with six of our best friends for our 'big' birthday events. Pacific Resort were fantastic and we took full advantage of 'happy hour' and the wonderful treatments at the nearby spa. There were 3 different types of room between our group and we were happy enough in our standard studio room, the next size up was quite a bit nicer.

Room Tip: Go for the middle of the resort as some of the larger rooms at the perimeter had road noise and the...

Overall we were disappointed with the experience. Our room was very good however the sound proofing was non exist and we could hear the conversation of our neighbours. The service and food at the Resturant was below average for the money we were charged. This resort is not for a quiet relaxing time as it is suited more for families than for couples.

we stayed at studio room, bathroom was not very tidy , but overall we liked it and will come again for sure its the best location in my opinion. Stuff is friendly but very slow in service. Other thing was as we came on Easter nothing was open , so watch out for that. We coming again this January and probably will stay again at this hotel i cant think of any other hotels at Muri beach as Pacific located in a centre of the Lagoon which is amazing and what I need at Raro.

We stayed in one of the Premium Beachfront Suites. It was nice enough, but at the price per night, probably not worth the cash. Whilst it had the amenities we needed, and an unbeatable view over Muri Lagoon, the quality of the room could be improved. The bedspread was slightly blood-stained and the room itself was in need of a good clean. Whilst the housekeepers came in daily, I dont believe they changed the linen during our stay (we stayed there 6 nights) and they only seemed to do a very basic clean; a quick sweep and wipe down of surfaces, but it never seemed to be vacuumed, which is a necessity when you are located right next to the beach! The breakfast available there was fairly average, we only had breakfast there 2 mornings and decided to go elsewhere afterwards. We had 2 negative experiences during our stay; first one was when they booked us in at Te Vara Nui Village (an island night) and they told us we had to be there at a certain time. We turned up there only to find out that we had been told the wrong time, and that the island night had already started. Second was when we pre-booked a massage at Te Manava (their sister resort), only to find out that we hadn't been booked in and had that they didn't have any other times available before our departure.
Not to say that it was all bad, the staff were very friendly, the views were unbeatable, the pick up/drop off service to the airport was great, and the free use of all snorkelling/kayaking equipment was excellent. I wouldn't say for anyone not to stay here, but would suggest you could probably find a better property for your money.

We stayed 10 nights at this resort and had a very pleasant stay. At first we were hesitant to go to this resort because of some of the negative reviews posted by others in this forum, which we now believe are unfounded. The resort staff were genuinely very helpful and pleasant.

We have visited many 5+ star resorts in other places such as the Thailand, Maldives, Palawan, Boracay, Tioman, Sabah, Port Douglas, Fiji, Hawaii etc. The Muri Pacific resort is not technically a 5 star resort, however the location, gardens, rooms, food and service was as good and/or better than the other places we have stayed.

Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the Kids club. The beach and the lagoon is also safe for children.

A warm thank you to the following resort staff for making our stay a very enjoyable one: Jane, Todd, Billie, Greg and Michael.

It would be nice if this resort could provide a 'Never Ending' package option :)

We will back.
