travelling with our 4yr old daughter,we wondered what was in store 4 us,,but we could not fault this hotel at all first class service and staff, especially neil who arranged all entertainment for kids and adults every nite except tues when he has a wee day off ..room brilliant, only fault no toaster, but we used hot plates..lovely view of pool.. plenty to keep our daughter happy,,kids club n play area in shade, which we were thankful for at 29 degrees...we are definately going back next year and cannot wait

Wanted a last minute break somewhere and i got a great deal the holiday cost £480 including transfers for me and my 2 boys and was well worth every penny! The pool was fantastic the games room was amazing my boys loved spending the odd hour in there with the 40 inch wide screen tv and bean bags. The rooms are lovely and extremely clean couldnt fault the place at all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The boys loved the hotel mascots Lollo and Bernie who are about certain times of the day.

We spent £25 pounds a day on having 3 meals a day. Le Tasca the on site restaurant is free for children when buying an adult meal which was fab for me having 2 children. We ventured out for meals to, to Gordon Ramsey's which is a 5 minute walk away (you must try his super gordon! omg is all i can say lol) with the set menu at 7.95 euros was a complete bargain and if you eat before 6 the beer is only a euro. One thing i will say is wherever you go the drinks are the most expensive part. It worked out cheaper buying from adult menu sometimes just as the meal included a drink!

I was nervous about taking my boys abroad as this is the first time i have gone on my own and being pregnant as well made me even more nervous, but that disappeared very quickly i felt very safe and had no worries at all once getting there. fanabe is a perfect place to go to relax and chill out everything is close to hand but not built up. Would definatley go back again :D

Stayed at Sunwing Fanabe for one week with 2 other female relatives - got a great room with pool view, kitchen area compact and perfect for breakfast. Very good bathroom with excellent shower/power shower, 2 rocco sinks, hairdryer - always plent of towels (floor, hand, bath) for each of us. Dove & Lux soap dispensers, plenty of loo roll! . Local supermarket for fresh bread, normal mike, fruit, juice anything you want just 1 minute walkfrom hotel and not expensive. Only 5 minutes walk to seafront promenade - walk to the right and come to the "posh" beach with the most beautiful setting and great walk around the rocks Playa Duque - keeping walking and you will come to the very end of the resort to the black sand local beach - great walk to do after breakfast while waiting on the sun to come out :-) Back to the hotel - the sunbathing on the roof terraces is recommended as you get the breeze, sun until it sets, and there are hot showers behind the blue tiled area - so private and lovely. In the eveing we tended to walk to the left along the promenade past all the shops to look for our restaurant - can reccomend the italian 1st on the small sandy cove beach walking left for 20 minutes - also the one right next to the hotel Gran Reserve, my fav was Fillet Mignon 103 at Little Italy on seafront, also had great final night dinner the the resturant opposite Ceour Fillet (we ate here once and were disappointed) one across from it much better food/service and very friendly staff.
Afternoon Tea - a must is to visit the newly opened Harriets Tearooms - couple from Hereford have set it up and bake all their own cakes - carrot cake first rate, coffee cake, victoria sponge - all yummy! they also do take away homemade sandwiches which we had some days to eat on roof terrace while sunbathing and brought tea up from our apartment - a lovely picnic! You will not be disappointed by the excellent service and choice of lovely fresh healthy food at Harriets Tea rooms - don't let the steps up to it put you off - turn left at Perfume Shop opposite hotel and they are just down on the right about 10 feet. We hired bikes for the day - just ordered them on the morning at 9am from hotel reception 9 euros each for the whole day - they ask what time you'll be back and they drop off the bikes within 15 mins and collect when you want - we cycled all the way along the promenade path to Los Cristianos - excellent. We set off at 10am and came back at 7pm great day, locked bikes on the Las Vistas beach and had a couple of hrs there. Were so impressed with the ride we walked the next day to Los Cristianos - at a good pace easily done in 1HR 10 mins and caught the bus back to behind the hotel for 1 euro 30 cents, takes 20 mins - even did this on 2 evenings caught bus there and back and ate in Los Cristanos - nice change and some lovely shoe shops! We will definitely all be going back to Sunwing Resort and hope that your stay will be as good as ours.

Stayed at the Sunwing Resort for a week self catering. The hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly and always happy to help. The pool area was clean with plenty of sunbeds and a mini supermarket. The room was comfortable with air conditioning with maid service every day apart from Sunday and Wednesday. The location is good, close to the sea front and beach with plenty of bars and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel and location.

Just returned from the Sungwing Resort Fanabe. The holiday was great value for money as we payed £280 for one week including flights and transfers.

Location- Roughly a 5 minute walk to Fanabe beach front, 10-15 mins left along the promenade and you are at the beautiful beach of Playa de Pinta/Port De Colon, 10-15 minutes along the senic coastline the other way and you are at Playa Del Douque. There are plenty bars and restaurants around Fanabe/Port Colon/San Eugine but if like us you like to visit the other resorts aswell, its aprox ten minute taxi ride to Las Americas, costs about 6 euros (about a 20 minute walk) or around 7-8 euros to Los Christianos. The hotel staff will call you a taxi or there is a rank just around the corner. Las Americas is great for the nightlife and restaurants and Los Christianos has two beautiful beaches and great restaurants lining the beachfront, great for enjoying a meal while watching the sunset. There are also plenty bus stops around the resort, but as taxis were so cheap, the only bus we used was the free bus to Sian Park. Sian park about 5 minute bus ride away. The best waterpark ever!! There is also a market very close by on a Thursday and Saterday.

Rooms- Amazingly clean!!!!! The beds are very comfortable as they have a matress and then one of those matress topper things. The hotel is modern and well maintained. Most of the kitchen equipment is modern infact most of it is from Ikea. Great range of plates, dishes, bowls, knives, chopping boards and there is also a coffee maker and microwave in the apartment. Rooms and balconys are very spacious. Great bathroom including dove handwash and Lux showergel. Plenty towels, the hotel also provided beach/pool towels which was a bonus!! Room cleaned daily, maids did an excellent job. Great mirrored wardrobes too which I loved!! Fantastic hotel!

Staff- Very very very helpful, ask them anything! Intelligient, enthusiastic and will always go out of your way to help.

Entertainment- Lots of entertainment for all ages, aqua gym was great fun!!

Facilities -There are too restaurants, show bar, pool bar, gym, squash courts, games room, table tennis, kids club, playground, giant chess and a supermarket on site and a laundrette. I would recommend using the supermarket just outside of the hotel though as it is cheaper. There is also an internet point in reception with about 8 computers.

Pools- Heated up until early May, lifeguard on duty, lane swimming in the morning until 10am.

Overall a fantastic hotel, great for people of all ages!

Returned from two weeks at Sunwing Holiday Resort Hotel, Fanabe, this week. This is an outstanding hotel. The staff are extremely helpful, very friendly without being overly familiar and very efficient. We stayed self catering. All the apartments are roomy with comfortable furniture. The kitchen has a couple of rings and a kettle. A toaster is available as a €6 pw extra. The room was cleaned and towels changed on 6 days out of 7. We were perhaps fortunate to be in room 105, this is six steps away from the pool area. As someone who enjoys an uninterrupted early morning, okay, 9.00am, swim, I loved it. The pool is set up by the attendant to allow 'lengths swimming'. There are loads of sun loungers, beach/ pool towels are provided free, that saves a bit of weight in the suitcase! We didn't need the air conditioning in late May/ early June, but it is available in each apartment. The bath/shower/ wc rooms are spacious and well equipped. Fanabe is a great resort, the local reasonably priced supermarket is less than 100 metres up the road and there are loads of restaurants locally. The Torviscas Indian Steak House was first class, friendly staff and perfect food. There are 'eat your weight' Chinese restaurants in resort, the one in the new Fanabe centre was great value for money or the set price 5 course menu in others was available. We spent about €50 per day in total, which is pretty good going nowadays. We are book readers on holiday so we didn't go on tours nor to night clubs. Overall, this Scandinavian hotel was about as good as it can get. It is a 'family' hotel so there were kids and the noisiest were....NOT THE BRITS! The Germans won the decibel war hands down! It was not overly intrusive, most of the time. Lifts to all floors made it suitable for all travellers. We travelled with Direct Line Holidays of Croyden, a first class service. There were 'ash issues' and we were delayed by just under 4 hours, some people were delayed by a week! Arrived in Edinburgh at 0400 to a snow storm!
