“A great family hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

This hotel was great for us traveling with kids between ages 2-5. Our 2 families requested and were given adjacent rooms (111 and 112 next to Miniland for kids) with terrace leading to the pool area. This was perfect for our older kids to move back and forth freely without relying too much on the grown-ups. We also got the morning sun in these rooms and didn't need to rush to get a sunbed like the other guests. Pool rules say no reserving but that didn't stop some guests from doing so.
We didn't book all inclusive so we had breakfast in the apartment with groceries bought from outside the hotel. There is a toaster, coffee-maker (bring some filters from home) and an electric kettle. I boiled water in the microwave for tea/coffee for just a cup or two. We had the hotel's breakfast buffet on the day we left which was decent. €18 gets 2adults+2kids - Kids under 12 eat for free in the company of paying adult. Rooms are cleaned 5 days out of our 7 days stay but we never knew when or what time they would come. Towels were changed on request.
Do not rent with Avis car especially in advance. They didn't deliver the car to the hotel as promised and once we were issued the car we had to find our own way back to the hotel. Car booster seats we rented were the cheap plastic ones with no padding. :( Our friends rented with the local car rental company which turned out cheaper, had better a car and child car-seats so we got to see the difference!

Sunwing Fanabe is very good for your trip to the sun with your family, consisting of kids up to 11 years of age. As all other kids at the hotel are up to that age.
The hotel itself is good, with clean, fresh rooms and all other facilities, and is worth three circles, or "average". The extra circle, increasing the score up to "very good" is for the location, just a few hundred meters from the ocean!

Beautiful and clean apartments. There is a lot of great entertainment for kids and the poolarea is like build for families with different water depths etc.

Close to beach and lot of great restaurants nearby. Beach is a short walk.

Room Tip: Try to get a room out to the pool area beautyful and peaceful evenings on the taresse.

"You get what you pay for" as a friend said.

The current concept of the current Sunwing resort seems outdated and I think the different travel agencies will have to do some rethinking to renew themselves and what they offer.

There are many gripes I could have mentioned but I will this time choose not to - as we will not choose this type of family hotel concept again.

I will however commed the excellent local staff here, they work hard and are very friendly.

So if your cup of tea is a standard run of the mill all inclusive "machinery" - then you will enjoy this very much.

It's tough to add to the reviews that have already been place about this place. Firstly, I firmly believe the staff make any place and here they can't do enough to ensure your stay is a good one - they seem to get the fact that a holiday is all about people coming away to enjoy a break spending hard earned money. The rooms are always spotless and cleaning staff never less than polite and happy to oblige. I will take the family back again. Don't listen to all the nonsense about Scandinavians being treated better than Brits - its stuff and nonesense. Get out there and smile at people and watch the smiles come back.
Booking from the UK seems to be tied in to Thomas Cook but there are websites out there if you wanted to book a low cost airline or stay outside the standard one/two week bookings.
I would reccomend this place time and again - enjoy!

Room Tip: E mail in advance laying out your requirements. They never make a promise but they do go out of thei...

We had a large pool view room, a Royal Room and we were both very impressed. There was a welcome bottle of wine and cold drinks in the fridge on our arrival. We also had a basket of fresh fruit. The balcony doors were double glazed which blocked out any pool room noise whenever you wanted it.We had a large beach towel each which was changed mid week more often if you wanted it.This saved quite a bit of room in our cases! The room had very efficient air-conditioning which was a bonus for us, as we've never had anything other than a ceiling fan in other hotels we've stayed in on Tenerife. The hotel is a bit of a maze and we kept getting lost the first day. The staff were very helpful and obliging.I would definitely return to this hotel.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were a party of 5, myself (35yrs), my wife (33yrs), our son (2.5yrs, and my mother and father in-law (60-67yrs). We arrived on Tuesday 4th September 2012 and had flown with Thomas Cook.

We’d had a look on Google maps before we came so we knew what to expect in the local area.

Reception was very good, open, with an Internet island in the middle and the desk to the left. The staff were excellent and sorted any question that we had. The Internet is very cheap 2 euro for half an hour, which can be used whenever you want and not in one go i.e. sign in/out to save your time. I think even an hour was less than 5 euro!!

Our room was 376 i.e. next floor up. We didn’t have a pool view, but we didn’t mind. We had a view looking down towards the beach. Walk in the room and the bathroom/toilet was to the right. Nice size and in good condition. (shower nice and powerful) To the left was the massive wardrobe and safe. Further on was the beds to the right – joined together to make a sort of double bed. Space for case to the left, desk and flat-screen tv. Lots of channels and not just sky news and bbc news. There was Disney channel (26) and tacky 80s movie channels. Ahead again was a partition leading to the kitchen and lounge. Kitchen – 2-ring hob, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, pots, pans, cutlery, cups, glasses, etc…doors leading onto a nice balcony, plus seats and table. All in all the room was excellent. Plenty of space, plenty of storage and reasonably comfortable. My son had a pull out bed from under the sofa.

Made service every day except Sunday and Thursday I think. There’s a laundry bin in the bathroom, so just put what you want cleaning in there i.e. bedding and towels, not your clothes. Free pool towels for all and 2.5 euro for a fresh one each.

Pool was excellent. One large, one small for kids and one small and shallow for infants. There’s also and playpark, climbing frame/slide, which is surrounded by sand. Very good for young kids. Also around the pool is table tennis, pool tables and table football. Activities during the day in the pool if you wish.

Restaurant is buffet stayle with a theme night every night except for change over days i.e. Tuesday and Friday, but otherwise, bbq, asian, Italian, etc. the food was of good quality and varied throughout. The pudding were ok, but not that exciting.

The entertainment was out of this world. Bernie and Lolo are the bear and giraffe that the kids all adore. 16:30pm after beach party i.e. entertainment with Bernie and Lolo, 19:15hrs – Bumbum, uncle grub and two other bears. i.e. entertainment for the kids, with singing, games, mini disco, etc and then a hug session with Bernie and Lolo. After it’s Bingo and then evening entertainment with live shows. Each night is different – Abba, rock, Eurovison, etc – ending with bingo again!

Hotel = 5* because all in all it is very good
Food = 4* because of the puddings only - my own personal choice for this
Room = 5* because its clean, roomy, comfy and has everything you need
Staff = 5* because they're pleasant and sorted anything out for me
Entertainment = 5*+++ because my son and my family had the best time ever!

This hotel is excellent for families with kids aged 1.5 to 7 years. If you do not fall in this category then I suggest you try elsewhere. I would def go back here.
