This was one of several onsens I visited in Japan and this was the only one I was disappointed in. The walls in the female section had large mold stains on them and the tiles had mildew in the grout. All of the baths looked dirty and run down, except the sauna which had a nice rustic atmosphere. It was also very difficult to locate, as it was situated back from the main road and had virtually no signage aside from a tiny sign all in Japanese. After missing the place several times, I had to ask locals to direct me and even then I was unsure if I had the right place. The only redeeming feature was the low price and the close proximity to the backpackers I was staying at. If you really want to visit an onsen at Mt Fuji then I'd still go, but don't expect anything special.
