“Historical monument for those interested”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

This is a ruin of an old Portuguese fort and will interest people curious about such things. Its about 20 km from Panaji and makes for about a 2-3 hour outing. It offers some great views of the Goan coast line. Films like Dil Chahta Hai have some scenes shot here. Some stalls are available outside catering to thirsty tourists but no proper hotel. Nice place for history buffs.

“Nice view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

The view from the fort is lovely, apart from that it's a pretty small fort per say. the attrium type area was only open to visitors, with some renovations/repairs underway.

the view from the fort is great all around.

“Portuguese fort by the seaside!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

If you want to experience history along with a great view - this is the place to be!! A crumbling fort left by the Portuguese, it has some amazing views of the Arabian sea. The red sandstone, rustic looks & blue backdrop offers amazing photo shootout opportunities to the shutterbugs!!

“Beautiful view from the fort.. Nothing else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Since its in the vicinity, you'd find lots of tourist visiting this fort. the drive to the fort is good.. one can see the Mandovi river from here.. and get some good pics in the fort..
The view of the Arabian sea from the fort is wonderful as well.. but there is nothing in the fort as such.. go for the views..

“Fort Aguada is a must visit in North Goa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

The scenic beauty of the sea and the surrounding places visible across the wall of the fort is just awesome. The lighthouse at the fort is still standing there depicting the ancient era. The spot is a photogenic one and you can capture some good moments her. It was too hot in January, 2013 when I visited there, don't know how it is in summer. It is better if you visit the place late after noon. There is no entry fee and open to all. Parking is outside the gate and one needs to walk up to the fort. The chamber throughout the floor of the fort has got so many openings (closed now), if you shout at the opening of one, the person standing at far end can your voice from another opening. The fort is a few kilometers from Panjim ( a few minutes drive). If you are staying at south Goa, it will be a long distance but short from Panjim. We stayed at Colva beach and hired a car for our north Goa trip. We covered the north Goa in 2 days, the first day for the Panjim, Aguada fort, Dona Paula beach and old Goa ( world heritage site) and the other day we ventured around the north Goa beach circuits (all the beaches only).

Aguada fort is a must visit spot apart from other beautiful places and spots.
