“Would return to Cappadocia just to stay here...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2011

My husband and I stayed at Aravan Evi for two nights this past August. Our room was beautiful and spacious (including hand embroidered linen). The outdoor terrace has an amazing view of the town of Ayvali and the surrounding landscape, plus is filled with bright potted flowers and grapevines.

We rented a car through the hotel (very convenient) and received helpful advice from Okan in terms of sights to visit and driving directions.

Best of all, every meal we ate (two breakfasts and two dinners) was incredible and the service was impeccable. There were multiple courses, all freshly prepared with seasonal produce by the Yazgan family. The dishes cooked in the outdoor clay tandoor oven were particularly good, especially the beans and fresh flat bread. We will always have fond memories of relaxing evenings spent enjoying the sunset with incredible food and a great bottle of local red wine.

We would highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant to any visitors to Cappadocia. You will not regret staying outside of Goreme or Urgup (which are filled with too many tourists!). It is simple to rent a car and the roads are very quiet to drive on.

We hope to return one day...

We (family with 2 children 9 & 6 )stayed at the Aravan Evi Boutique Hotel in August 2011 and it was just wonderful . I can honestly say I have never stayed in a place and felt so looked after - Okan and his family are omnipresent (but not too intrusive) to meet all your needs whether its to develop the best tour or fulfilling your little boy's request to have chips and homemade ketchup at a 7am breakfast. The rooms are high quality and comfortable. However, after the people, the stunning element of this hotel is the food - different delicious dinners every night and the most amazing breakfast with over 15 different dishes. Thank you Okan.

Room Tip: Ask to put the heating on if it get chilly .

My friend and I stayed there for two nights in August. From our arrival to departure, I always felt at home. Okan and his family were very friendly and full of hospitality. Breakfast and dinner his mother cooked were all very nice; many kinds of vegetables from their garden were well prepared and the terrace where the table was set had wonderful views of the village. The village where the hotel was located is two villages away from the center of Urgup, but it is worth staying. We came back to Japan with a lot of forgettable memories thanks to the family.

Can't fault Aravan Evi, and Okan really goes out of his way for his guests, nothing is too much trouble. We loved our stay there and found it very relaxing, good view with great food.

My wife and i stayed for 2 nights in May. As frequent business and personal travelers we seek out interesting and unique places that help us connect with the local area and escape the generic tourist crowds. We could not have been happier at Aravan Evi. From the moment we were met at the airport to the moment we left, the family treated us like friends, introducing us to their town and area. The room was modern and clean - we awoke every morning to the sounds of a small town after sleeping soundly. The food was amazing; traditional recipes made with fruits and vegetables from their farm or locally sourced breads or meats. The meals were the highlight of our 2 weeks in Turkey with homemade dishes we're still trying to duplicate. Discovering places like this is why we travel. Loved it and hope to return soon.

We stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic time. Okan and his family treated us wonderfully. His Mom made the most amazing meals with so much delicious food. The courses just kept coming and coming. Everything was delicious. Okan also helped us arrange everything for our stay in this magical area, including a personal tour, hunt for carpets, a car, and a superb hot air balloon experience. We loved meeting his family and talking to him. This is a beautiful, quaint, and charming place to stay. We would do it again in a minute.
