“Quiet Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2009

Overall experience was Average. i would not recommend this place to youngsters. this place is actually for people who want peace of mind from the hassle of the city. When we entered the place..for a moment we were just confused as in what to do...and the utmost shock is the bathroom which completely follows the english rule!!!! ( use of only tissues ) c'mon we are Indians and would always prefer using water instead of tissue papers. I was very annoyed and yes We did complain as well n finally were provided with a bucket n mug...It's so strange that none of the rooms has a provision of water & tap. Yucks!!! I wonder how people who have already been to ti's place have not mentioned such a fact! The overall management is cooperative. Staffs are very well mannered. It's Discotheque has just Awesum interiors...the FFort has a complete Royal ancient looks. It gives you a feel of British era Lifestyle....

Its a nice big property set on the outskirts of Kolkatta, so a nice breeze of tranquility & serene environment . Many things to explore as its a huge property and well kept gardens. Nice getaways with kids.
The decor of the restaurants and other meeting areas is aesthetically done and adds to the overall exprience.
The food is also good and buffet spread is also lavish.

We went to the resort for a weekend getaway from Kolkatta... While Riachak is a beautiful place for the view of the full bourne Ganges...the resort was quite a let down ... though there are decent facilities at the resort and the accomodation is fine... the food was below average...

I have heard there are other private villas which offer better accomodation in Raichak...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2009

I stayed at this hotel from 5th April till 8th April 09. I had read the mixed reviews before going there. But after reaching at the hotel & entering the room, I forgot everything outside. What a splendid view!!! I got room no. 508, a top floor center room. All rooms have small balcony, which accommodates 2 chairs and a small tea table. From balcony and French windows, I could see the great Ganges flowing across. An awesome scene at first sight, just WOW. I was addicted to sitting in balcony to witness different shades of Ganges at different time of the day. Right from lazy morning, bright daylight, dull twilight & at breezy night with milky moonlight. The river looks amazing & lively throughout. Morning you can see ships sailing across. Night you can see lights on the other side of the bank. The hotel has a facility of Sunset cruise for which minimum 12 pax are needed, and is bit expensive i.e. Rs.450/- per person for 1 hour cruise.

Property of the hotel is huge. The ffort raichak has front outside appearance of a old fort with exposed bricks and shape of a fort, but inside the hotel is equipped with modern facilities. In addition they have Ganga kutir, which is ultra luxurious resort and holiday club in the same campus. Plus some big shots have bungalows over there. The whole property is very well managed. Roads inside the campus are clean n calm. Rooms are spacious and clean, comfortable. Staff is on their toes to help you. Very warm welcome by Mr. Neeladri. Room service, housekeeping everything is very prompt. Resort has nice greenery all over, manicured lawns, a pond with lots of golden fish. Staff was helpful and showed me the property in Golf car, even the Gangakutir resort.

Pool, gym and other facilities are good. Conference room is one of the best I have seen. And yes, they have Anaya Spa, where you are treated like a star and pampered like anything. Even though spa was a bit expensive thing, but once in while you can splurge, isn’t it? This resort is a good choice if you want a peaceful, undisturbed, calm & quiet environment as it is away from the city. But you can have lots of fun if you go as a group. Overall I am very happy with The ffort RAichak .( double F in ffort as this is a false fort)
