“wont say a virgin beach, but a clean one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

nice, long, clean beach. the waves are easily negotiable.
can drive upto the beach.
bathing is easy and comfortable.
the location is also good.

what i disliked is those biker boys....almost forcing and nagging to take a ride on them for a price.its really irritating.

this beach has a potential to be a brilliant tourist destination provided the management takes proper care, which unfortunately, doesnt seem likely

“A Good Beach away from the chaos of Digha & New Digha”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

We visited the beach in Feb 2014 seeing the reviews in Tripadvisor. I must say that it was a worth visit. For visitors who go to Digha and New Digha, I would suggest try this beach. It is much more secluded and clean. You may bathe here unlike Digha beach.Staying options are however limited. There is West Bengal Fisheries Lodge(OCEANA) and Tourism Dept's Tents. I preferred the Fisheries Lodge as the tents are in not that good shape and the area is barren. Fisheries has a very large property with garden and big ponds and the kids liked it. The beach is however nearer from the Tents run by tourism department. But it hardly matters if you have a car.The beach is a heaven for tourists. You have so many options. You may ride a bike which is available on rent and drive down the beach to the mohona near Talsari, Orissa OR you may even go for Paragliding. If you are not interested in these thrils just lay back in a shaded canopy temporarily constructed for you and enjoy the fried fish, prawn, crabs with B**R.Just one suggestion......try to go in a group as a single family may feel a bit insecured in the beach as no. of tourists come from Digha during daytime at this beach and some of them may become a bit disturbing after a few drinks. The food in the lodge is good and typical bengali fare. They brought fishes from the market according to our order. Another suggestion..............if you want to take lunch or dinner after reaching the resort............please give advance order for the food over phone.Mineral water/cold drinks is usually available but enquire before going. The rooms are simple and basic. Water heaters and AC is provided in allmost all rooms and they work. Rooms are clean.

“Was very good earlier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

I have travelled to Udaypur Beach on two occasions - Nov 2010 and November 2013. My take is, it was very good earlier. Read on to know why and then check out the pictures.

In November 2010, this was a pristine, flawless, virgin beach with about 50 odd people here and there on the entire beach area, with miles of Golden Sea Beach, waves lashing away to its glory and the unending rows of Casuarina trees lining the beach and cast of the famous red crabs playing on the golden sand.

In November 2013, this was a muddy, dirty beach with plenty of shanties right in the water selling cheap fish food and beer, about 15,000 people here and there, plenty of plastic chairs for tourists, and not a single crab on sight. This was a serious downgrading thanks to the flip side of tourism. See my accompanying pics to understand what I meant.

This is a beach, peculiarly on the border of Odisha and West Bengal, thus probably developed by none in the last few years. There is a car parking area, from which one has to walk to the beach area. Natural beauty of the place has completely vanished,Golden sandy beach is now muddy and dirty, with smell of drying fish and garbage in the air. Red Crabs have obviously moved out from this locality.

Visit here once to experience it,but if you are after natural beauty, choose someplace else.
If you are after cheap beer and fried fish, enjoy and further massacre the place.

The best thing we liked was to get bikes on hire and u can have fun on the beach and go on a drive. Not very far from main Digha but a clean and much less crowded beach.

“Udaipur Beach”

Cleaner than the other beaches of Digha. But slightly secluded. Avoid going late evening. Can be included in your itinerary.
