“A Devon Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

The ideal place to base for exploring Devon, this accommodation was a real find. Right from the welcoming email confirming our booking we knew we had made a great choice. Jane and Gareth were such lovely, caring hosts who ensured our stay was all we wanted. The Tower room was beautifully appointed and the views in the changeable weather such a pleasure each morning. Breakfast really was notable and Jane's assistance with dining venues at night so welcome. Her knowledge of the history was also most welcome as was her keenness for us to borrow maps to assist our exploration of the area.
We agree with all other guests that this is a wonderful spot to stay and urge fellow Aussies to enjoy such a memorable Devon experience.

What a spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated property. We stayed here as part of our cycle from North Devon to South Devon on the CtoC Route 27.

We were made to feel very welcome and shown to our room by Gareth and told about the availability of food at the local Pub, The Clinton which is set opposite a lovely church. Had a nice breakfast, with fresh produce and eggs from the chickens in the garden.

We found out that Jane and my wife has gone to the same schools (if a few years apart from each other).

Lovely views over the hills of North Devon and the chickens in the back garden. Definitely worth a visit but expect to cycle up a steep hill if you are coming via the Tarka trail, but look at this way it is downhill on the way back to the trail and well worth the effort to get there.

Room Tip: two rooms available one with double bed the other with a double bed and a single from memory. Both w...

Thanks for the lovely words of encouragement & appreciation; great to have met you both & such a (lucky, as I'm hoping we may see you again !) coincidence with the schools thing. I would just like to point out though that there's a big uphill ride into Great Torrington as well, where much of the other local accommodation is situated & as you say we have a great local pub, with good food nearby - oh & the beds are king-size ! Many thanks though for taking the trouble to review us. Bye for now - Pedantic Jane.

We arrived early evening after a day at Rosemoor and enjoyed a beautifully cooked evening meal, with lots of lovely local produce. Jane and Gareth a great hosts and it was lovely to chat about veg growing while watching the hens scratch around working on their egg production.

Breakfast was another treat, with a chance to sample the wonderful eggs.

Our room and bathroom were lovely with a very comfortable bed. A great place to go if you want to explore North Devon.

Broadpark is a fantastic spot to base yourself for visiting the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and the rest of north Devon. We just stayed the one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Besides Rosemoor, there is the Dartington Glass Factory which has a great shop so save your pocket money. North Devon has so much to explore so rest assured that we will be back to stay with Jane and Gareth who are excellent hosts and I agree with previous reviews about them going the extra mile. The rooms are home from home, spotlessly clean and the breakfast is spot on. We had dinner at the local pub which was good home cooked food and within walking distance

I recently stayed at Broadpark B&B with two friends (and Poppy the dachshund) for three nights. Jane and Gareth could not have been more welcoming and friendly – perfect hosts. The accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our rooms overlooked the beautiful Devon countryside and the breakfasts were DELICIOUS! An added bonus was the large sitting room for the use of guests. If you are visiting North Devon, make sure you stay at Broadpark.
