We booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and I'm happy to say that Baike Hotel surpassed all our expectations! If you like to be "off the beaten path" and want to experience something truly different from the big cities in China, this is the place!
We had a panoramic view on the top floor (room 301) which I highly recommend, what a view to wake up to. The owner of the hotel, Jason, is a true host, speaks fluent English, and can't do enough to make his guests feel welcome. His wife does all the cooking and it's fabulous and healthy. Jason's mother in law was our tour guide on a hike through the most gorgeous scenery of rice terraces to a neighboring village where we had tea and rice wine. The hotel is more of a guest house/ b and b with only 5 rooms. It's simple, clean, comfortable, and oh did I mention the incredible views? We emailed Jason ahead of time and he took care of arranging all the transpo from Yangshuo and then back to Guilin airport. Our 2-day stay here was one of the highlights of our trip to China.
