I can't really add anything to all the glowing reviews except to say its all true. We just spent a week in Glyn & John's beautiful B&B and loved every minute, even Flo and Ruby the labradors were welcoming. John's cooking is memorable, his homemade blackberry jam especially so - his wine selection is quite impressive too.
The village was especially sleepy when we were there (mid August) but its within easy reach of Chinon, Richlieu, Loudun, Tours and a host of other interesting places. If you don't want to drive there are bikes to borrow and the Ligne Vert is a nice ride (or walk).
There is usually something negative to say about even the nicest place but the only thing I could possibly complain about were the pillows. As I'm a lousy sleeper, super fussy and always travel with my own pillow that's probably unreasonable, so I think I shall have to admit that my days and nights at Bourgville were practically perfect. I only hope that all you readers don't rush there, I'd hate to find they're full when I want to return which I most definitely will.
