“Fantastic stay in the countryside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

We revisited the Novotel for our 7th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The staff were very helpful especially those in Harry's Restaurant for our dinner and breakfast. The weather was perfect and the setting very peaceful. I should have taken advantage of the 'pillow menu' as I don't like feather pillows (they came standard on our bed), so I was bummed that I forgot to do that. The quilt was very hot, but would be awesome in winter. We had a king room (269) with a new bathroom and it was very clean (except for one cockroach, which I will let slide as it only appeared as we were leaving).
The hotel gave us a complimentary drink as a gift, very nice and brought out our desert specially decorated, very special.
We took advantage of the accommodation and three course meal special and couldn't have been happier - would definitely recommend and do again.

We stayed for two nights in a recently renovated superior room, it was perfect for our needs. Comfy bed, lovely bathroom, small kitchenette and a balcony with a gorgeous view of the hills.
The location was great, close to Tanunda and wineries all around. We only had breakfast in the restaurant which was a little over priced but couldn't fault it. The room service was great value.
Good service, just wish we had a couple more days in the beautiful Barossa.
We would stay again and recommend for couples.

Room Tip: Superior room was worth the upgrade.

We moved here from another motel and loved the beautiful rooms and the king beds! The view from our own balcony was amazing and took in the beautiful Barossa hills. They were extremely child friendly, providing a made-up cot for our baby at no extra charge, children were welcome in the restaurant and there is a great play area near the pool. Fantastic shower head and facilities to cook/clean up in your room.

We ate in at the restaurant one night and all of the meals were delicious. The profiterole dessert was amazing!!

The only downside was the tv reception, which was very average and the drilling that was happening in the room next door at 8.45am on our last morning. When I mentioned that to the staff the reply was 'sorry about that'.

Overall, if coming to the Barossa again, I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for detailed review.
I am delighted to read you enjoyed your stay, we are very lucky with the outlook from the balconies as you mentioned which are stunning no matter what time of year!
I will pass on your feedback with our TV provider about the signal and I am sorry you were disturbed on your final morning with us.
We do hope we are able welcome you back to the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort in the near future.

Lovely room and resort, the only thing that I could say is it would be good if there was a lift, we were at the end of our trip so a pain to have to lug all our stuff upstairs, but lovely resort, great restaurant, will be back if we ever stay at the barossa again.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

We stayed with friends for two nights 28-29 March 2014. The location has nice views of the foothills and vines around the Barossa and my partner loved the swimming pool. This is where the good bits stop. The rooms are dated and they insist on charging high internet fees. It was supposed to be a self contained apartment but there was very little in the way of food preparation utensils, e.g. one bread knife but no other knives. Too bad if you actually wanted to cook anything. The location is outside of nearby townships so you need to drive even to buy basic necessities - this is OK as most people will be touring in cars anyway except it is a wine region with some wonderful wines to try and therefore by the end of the day many might not want to be driving. Reastaurant was dreadful. "Baby" roast chicken does not mean one tiny wing and one tiny drumstick Enough said.

Room Tip: All rooms are connected extrnally by an outside walkway - try to get at the end of a block so you do...

Dear Mark C,

Thank you for your review, I am glad you enjoyed our location of the Hotel and your partner enjoyed the pool area.

We have already refurbished our Standard and Superior bathrooms last year and are in the midst of the Apartments and Spa rooms, as I am sure you will agree, this is a much needed upgrade that will make a huge improvement to the rooms. The plan following this is to then upgrade the soft furnishings of the rooms

Thank you again for your review, and we hope to see you again soon.

Warm Regards,

Sarah Henderson

This is our third stay at Novotel Barossa Valley. Great to see that bathrooms have been updated. Harrys Restaurant dining was fabulous as always. Room Service was also really nice. All staff were fantastic especially in Harrys Restaurant! Pool area is great. Cocktails to die for!

Best place to stay if you want to spend a few days in the Barossa Valley!

Room Tip: Have only stayed in apartment rooms and they are well set out.
