“Great outdoor facilities but poor food in the restaurant. Would go again but would self cater.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2010

The accomodation was ok although a little dated. The bedding was clean but the room generally could have been cleaner - especially the bathroom. The louvre doors leading into the bathroom were thick with dust and fluff.

We dined in the buffet restaurant and apart from the salad bar, the food was poor. It was supposed to be an English Carvery but the food was all stored under lids ( not heat lamps) so the food was overcooked. The Yorkshire puddings were steamed and soggy - not crisp as they should be. There was no selection of fine Australian cheeses as the menu stated as the plates were not restocked - we dined at 7.30pm so it wasn't that late. They had no butter only margarine which I cannot stand!

I would recommend the resort but self cater or eat somewhere else.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at the Resort.

It is disappointing that the food in Nouveau did not meet your expectations, your comments have been passed onto our Executive Chef so that he can review the quality and presentation of the buffet items. We do usually have both butter and margarine on our buffet as we try and cater to everyone’s needs and it is disappointing that this was not available on the buffet on the night you dined.

Thank you for recommending the resort and overall had a great stay but disappointing that the food did not meet your expectations.

My husband and I stayed at Novotel Twin Waters to use our complimentary Accor night, we booked online for 2 nights 15th & 16th June 2010. We were allocated a "Superior 1 Queen Bed" garden view. The room was small, not sure how 2 children would fit in comfortably. The TV was tiny with bad reception, bathroom could have been cleaned better[hair on loo and in bath]. Bedding and towels were immaculate. The Nouveau Restaurant was closed for dinner Mon Tues & Wed, and had a limited menu for lunch but was well presented. We regularly attend the restaurant as we use our Accor Card to take relatives and visitors for lunch, and also to meet up with friends.
The staff at Novotel are always helpful and friendly.
We live on the Sunshine Coast and decided to try out the hotel. It is great for families and has many activities to keep the kids entertained.
We did not have a good experience, there was a group of young people on a bus tour staying near us, screaming and running till late at night 11.30 pm, then up at 5.30 am outside our door, talking loudly and running their luggage up and down the pathway. I mentioned this to reception staff the next day, they apologised. The following night another group came in and were again left to run amok by the adults in charge,we decided to check out and come home that evening.
We would not stay there again. I do think some areas need to be updated, and also need a good clean.

Thank you for your feedback on your stay at Novotel Twin Waters Resort. It is very disappointing that you did not have a good experience and chose to depart early. Due to your comments we have provided feedback regarding noise to the tour guides who are accompanying the current tour groups and have also increased the Front Office patrols around the resort when they are in house.

It is also disappointing for us to learn that your room was not cleaned to an appropriate standard. The Executive Housekeeper has been advised and will address this immediately with the appropriate staff.

As you have mentioned we are a family friendly resort and there are many free activities available on site. At the Resort we offer a range of room types with different bedding configurations to cater to the different family groups these include Garden View Resort Rooms as well as 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom king suites. We also offer a range of dining options including Nouveau Restaurant, Lily’s on the Lagoon, Aqua Bar +Lounge, The Deli or our take away option of Grab it and Go.

We do also appreciate your positive comments regarding the helpful friendly staff and your regular use of the Restaurants at the Resort and this positive feedback has been passed on to our staff.

The staff were friendly from the minute we arrived, the views are stunning and you must stay in a Lagoon Suite. Many options for eating and drinking and all very well priced. This resort is so good we have booked again in December.

The first thing that struck me when I stayed here was I wish I'd come with my family. With a multi-million dollar refurbishment complete, this property offers wide range of activities to suit families or conference groups. It's busy resort with stuff going on all over the place, so maybe not ideal for a quiet, romantic getaway, but if you need to keep a family or delegates occupied, it's hard to go past. Plenty to do on the private lagoon which is big enough for catamarans and kayaks. Dining is bistro style in Nouveau's and perhaps a bit pricey for some (300g sirloin $27) and you can go fancy at Lily's overwater fine dining (mains $30-40). The accommodation is very reasonable and spacious especially if booked on one of the bargain websites around mid-year, although don't expect Sofitel decor for that price ($150-180 entry level). I'm fussy and didn't find any substantial complaints. BIG function rooms.

We spent a long weekend at Twin Waters. It was a fantastic resort. We had a garden facing resort room, nothing too fancy 2 queen size beds, a bathroom with shower over bath and a small balcony, all very clean and well presented.
The resort has fantastic facilites for all ages, the kids loved the lagoon and pool area.
Breakfast although very busy (there seemed to be quite a few wedding parties in the resort) was great, they kept repleneshing the buffet. Kids loved the juicer and probably had the most healthiest breakfast ever! My only groan about the hotel was when checking in you are directed to the ACCOR desk where you are signed up for a 90 minute presentation.... its annoying as they dont take no for an answer and the last thing we feel like doing is listening to a timeshare presentation.

We stayed at the Novotel Twin Waters near Maroochydore in April 2010 just after Easter for 1 week. We are a family of 4 but we also had along an extra, so had 1 teenage boy aged 18 and two girls aged 15. We choose Twin Waters because of the activities to amuse everyone but also the location is close to other Queensland attractions. We all stayed in the two-bedroom King Suite with kitchenette. Good for 5 people. Buffet breakfast was included. With 3 teenagers to get out of bed, breakfast became brunch each day and then we just went out for dinner at night. The breakfast buffet was very average, nothing special but fed everyone. As it was school holidays all the little children had eaten by the time we got there so squashed scrambled egg and jam was underfoot and every table we had seemed to be sticky. Minimal cleaning up by staff. We ate twice in the bar at night. Nice food. I thought the place might become a little more sophisticated at night but little kids were still riding their scooters and skateboards through the bar at 9pm. The hotel says it is a luxury resort but it is really a big holiday camp. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it's a great place for families of all ages. Father and son played golf down the road and also had excellent lessons. The girls sailed up and down the lagoon most days. Also enjoyed swimming out to the trampoline in the lagoon and jumping off. We had a rental car so drove up to Noosa, Eumundi Markets, we ate out in Marcoocydore. The circus activities at the resort are fantastic. We even got 18-yr old son on the trapeze. The resort is in a lovely location, spacious and green. Easy to walk through to the beach for swimming, surfing and fishing. The only major complaint was the mosquitoes. The resort is next to a swampy river (good for fishing). Rooms have screens but we all got bitten more and more each day. Little shop on site sells repellent but is not adequate.Overall a pleasant relaxing holiday.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2010

I called a week before our trip and requested early check in, explaining that we were attending a wedding and would need to get ready at the hotel. I was told that a room would be available between 11.30 and 12.00. We arrived at 11.30 and once I completed the forms etc I was told the room was not actually ready.
I explained that we had to attend a wedding and needed to get ready, that was why we requested early check in. When I asked what time the room would be ready and I was told "maybe an hour, we were busy last night you know". I gave the girl my mobile number to call as soon as the room was ready, and I was told that mobile reception is poor at the resort and to "just come back".

We sat in the car for an hour, and I returned to the desk to be told again the room was not ready, and to "perhaps give it another hour". I again explained that I had to attend a wedding, and would need to leave within the hour to be there before the bride. All to no avail.

My partner then went and spoke to the front office manager and a room was suddenly available.

On returning to the hotel after midnight we were surprised at how difficult parking was. Cars were everywhere as the car park was full. It took some very careful driving not to knock other cars as we tried to drive down the roadway. We ended up parking between two trees in a garden bed.

The room itself is nothing spectacular. The bathroom had not been cleaned as there was a big black bathtub ring in the bath/shower. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows rediculously high. A working clock would have been nice to see the time in the midde of the night. The curtains did make the room very dark during the night and the only thing that woke me in the morning was the children running up and down the concrete corridor out front of the room.

I cannot comment on the facilities offered as I did not have an opportunity to see any of the resort, except the car park.

Overall I would say that the customer service is extreemly poor and I will not be back.

Thank you for your feedback and our apologies that your visit did not meet your expectations. We do strive to exceed our guest expectations and on this occasion we have obviously not managed to achieve this. We do try and meet the requests our guests have for early arrivals and late check outs but this is not always possible and does depend on the type of room booked and the occupancy of the Resort on the evening before. This does not excuse the lack of clear communication from our team regarding your early access to your room and I would like to apologise for this.

In order to try and assist all of the different preferences our guests have for pillows we do offer a pillow menu, which offers options for a range of pillow types and can be accessed via our housekeeping team or in there absence our Duty Manager.

The housekeeping and maintenance issues you raise are something we have taken on board.

We are constantly reviewing and updating our staff training based on feedback such as yours and I would like to assure you our service levels are of utmost concern to us at the Resort and we will making every endeavour to rectify the issues you have raised.
